List of French Pokémon names
This list is a record of the official French spellings for Pokémon names. Names are listed by number in the order dictated by the National Pokédex, meaning that Pokémon from the Kanto region will appear first, followed by those from Johto, Hoenn, and subsequent regions.
Changes
From Generation I to IV, the games formatted Pokémon names without any diacritic or ligature characters. This affected a total of 75 Pokémon with è, é, ê, or ï in their names. This also affected Eggs, due to "Œuf" containing the letter œ; despite Exeggcute's name also containing the word "œuf", its name is written "Noeunoeuf" without the ligature. In the Pokémon Trading Card Game, these names were inconsistently written both with and without these diacritics and ligatures during this period.
