It evolves from Skwovet starting at level 24.

A form of Greedent called Cook appears exclusively in Pokémon Pokopia (as a character named Chef Dente).

Biology

Greedent gathers so many Berries in its tail that they spill over

Greedent is a bipedal, squirrel-like Pokémon with a tan and brown plump body, a buck tooth, orange nose, stumpy limbs, and a huge tail twice as long as its body. It has a darker brown area on its cheeks that can also be found on its chest, the underside of its tail, and the tips of its ears. Its fur is fluffy and messy. It also has orange freckles on its big cheeks and orange inside of its ears. Its eyes are a black oval-shape with white pupils, with a ring of light brown fur surrounding them.

True to its name, Greedent is extremely greedy and gluttonous. Greedent constantly gathers Berries and stuffs them into its tail; it will run to gather Berries even if it's in the middle of a battle. It stuffs its tail with so many Berries that they fall out constantly, especially when it is hit or faints. It may also stash Bounsweet in its tail, as it considers the latter's sweet scent to be attractive. Dimwitted, Greedent will not often notice the loss of the food they store. Its sharp teeth are strong enough to gnaw through the strongest of Berry shells.

Greedent and its pre-evolved form, Skwovet, are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Stuff Cheeks by leveling up.

Evolution

Greedent evolves from Skwovet.

Forms

A particular Greedent, named Chef Dente, has a unique spin-off form called Cook.

This Greedent wears an orange scarf and stores kitchen tools all over her body.[1]

Due to living and growing up with a family of foodies, Cook Greedent developed a passion for cooking. Cook Greedent demonstrated dexterous skill that allowed it to learn human tools.[2] As a result, Cook Greedent knows how to use human tools to help it cook. It is capable of teaching other Pokémon how to cook. It has a strong love of curry and dislikes Chesto Berries.

Trivia

Origin

Greedent may be based on the Eurasian red squirrel, a species of squirrel that is endangered in Great Britain. Their dimwitted nature compared to Skwovet may reference the fact that grey squirrels are more intelligent than red squirrels in real life. Its behavior of storing food in its tail and then forgetting about it may allude to the real-world behavior of hoarding in squirrels, which tend to result in lost caches of food after the squirrel forgets about them.

Name origin

Greedent may be a combination of greed and rodent.

Yokubarisu may be a combination of 欲張り yokubari (greed), 栗鼠 risu (squirrel), and avarice (a synonym for greed).
