Drampa is a serpentine Pokémon similar to a Chinese dragon. Most of its skin is bluish-green, but the lower half of its face and the underside of its neck is a pale green. There are three spots on each of its sides that are also light green. It has pink eyes with rounded, yellow eyebrows, short whiskers resembling a mustache, floppy ears, and a small, white beard with a circular extension. On top of its head is a mop of white hair split into four rounded sections: two draped down either side of its head. Fluffy white fur drapes the lower half of its body and conceals its arms when they are tucked against its chest. When its arms are spread, two short claws are revealed on each hand. It has a bushy white tail with a small, curved spike at the base.
This draconic Pokémon lives alone in the mountains 10,000 feet above sea level. The Berries it feeds on do not grow at this altitude, so it descends to the base of the mountains daily at dawn. Drampa is known to have a kind and compassionate personality. It loves communicating with people and Pokémon, and is especially gentle with children. It often appears in places where children gather, such as schools and parks. Mothers of the children never worry about Drampa playing with them, as Drampa is willing to protect children from any form of danger. Despite its gentle nature, it becomes enraged if a child it cares for is hurt, and can go as far as to burn the bully's house down if able.[1] Drampa is known to stir up a gale of wind when angered, while flattening anything that gets in its way as Drampa rampages. During its rampage, Drampa's Dragon Breath attack is strong enough to demolish buildings. As seen in the Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon episode Tasting the Bitter with the Sweet! and New Pokémon Snap, Drampa is capable of flying.
Mega Drampa's eyes glow, and its fur rises when it is enraged or attacking.
As Mega Drampa, Drampa regains its youthful vigor, holding its long neck high above its body. Its white fur turns dark grey and becomes spikier. It now holds its claws out of its front fur, these claws are light grey and there are three per hand. At the back of its fur-covered body are swirling, lighter grey curls. Mega Drampa's expression turns angry and its beard elongates, turning the same shade of dark grey as its fur. It additionally gains two additional mustaches shaped like inverted horseshoe mustaches. Mega Drampa's hair perks into four curled spikes. When its mouth is open, Mega Drampa has four visible fangs.
Mega Drampa's cells are reinvigorated, reactivating its youth. It can manipulate the atmosphere to summon storms. Mega Drampa is constantly floating off the ground.
Drampa, the Placid Pokémon. A Normal and Dragon type. Drampa typically live on tall mountains, and tree Berries are their favorite food. They also enjoy playing with children.
Drampa can be seen as a counterpart to Turtonator:
Both are dual-type Pokémon, with Dragon as the secondary type.
Both have a base stat total of 485, with the same stat values but distributed differently (aside from Speed, which has the same value for the two Pokémon).
Drampa appears to be based on a Chinese dragon, such as the Zhulong (torch dragon), a mythological creature with the face of an old man and the body of a dragon. Its friendly and caring disposition towards children, elderly appearance, and name may be a reference to grandparents. Its behavior may also be based on Chinese dragons being benevolent creatures. Drampa's white fur resembles cumulus clouds which maybe a reference to the traditional connection between Chinese dragons and clouds, where flying dragons are frequently depicted soaring through or riding upon them.
Mega Drampa's fur becoming black resembles storm clouds, alluding to its capacity to summon them. This ability is typical of Chinese dragons, most specifically of Shenlong (god dragon), who is called a master of rain. Mega Drampa's youth being restored may be a reference to atavism.
Name origin
Drampa may be a combination of dragon and grampa (a variation on grandpa).
Jijilong may be a combination of 爺 jijī (an informal term for an old man) and 龍 Lóng (Chinese dragon).
