The vast majority of Pokémon that evolve do so at or above a certain level. This is a list of those Pokémon ordered by the lowest level at which they may evolve, from the lowest (level 7) to the highest (level 64).

Pokémon marked with an asterisk (*) may have additional requirements beyond their level in all or some games. Pokémon marked with ♂ or ♀ can only evolve if they are that gender. Some Pokémon may also have branched evolutions where only one branch results from evolving by level.

Statistical counts
- As of Generation VII, the mean evolution level is 29.6. The median level is 30. The mode level, with 25 Pokémon, is also 30.
- The mean evolution level for Pokémon with a two stage evolution line is 30.7. The median and mode level is 30, with 16 Pokémon. The maximum and minimum are 59 and 10, respectively.
- The mean evolution level for the first stage of Pokémon with a three stage evolution line is 22.8. The median level is 20 and the mode is 16 with 13 Pokémon. The maximum and minimum are 50 and 7, respectively.
- The mean evolution level for the second stage of Pokémon with a three stage evolution line is 36.2. The median and mode is 36 with 17 Pokémon. The maximum and minimum are 64 and 10, respectively.
- On average, Pokémon introduced in Generation II evolve at the lowest level, 25.8. Pokémon introduced in Generation V evolve at the highest level, 35.6.
- Generation VII introduced the fewest Pokémon that can evolve by level-up, with 26. Generation V introduced the most Pokémon that can evolve by level-up, with 59.
- Generation IV introduced the smallest range of Pokémon evolution levels, which is 38. Generation VIII introduced the largest range, which is 50.
- At least one Pokémon can evolve starting at each level from 14 to 45.
