List of Pokémon by color palette (Generation I)

This is a list of Pokémon by their color palettes in Generation I.

All Generation I core series games include data for Super Game Boy color palettes. The international versions of Pokémon Yellow also have a second set of color palettes for the Game Boy Color, which was also reused later on the Virtual Console. All other Generation I games (including the Japanese version of Pokémon Yellow) are black and white on the Game Boy Color and Virtual Console.

Mew palette

This palette is also used for all Pokémon Trainers (including the player Red). It is also used for all the small Pokémon sprites at the party screen. In the Virtual Console releases of Pokémon Yellow, Jynx's skin was changed to be purple, probably related to controversies related to it being black.

Evolution palette

This is a black palette applied to all Pokémon in the process of evolution. All white portions of that Pokémon remain white, while the other three colors of that Pokémon are converted into subtly different shades of black in Pokémon Red and Blue, or a single shade of black in Pokémon Yellow.
