In the games
Character profile
Professor Burnet is a researcher who studies Pokémon in other dimensions and the Interdream Zone, the space between dreams and reality. Burnet comes off as a passionate woman who enjoys her job and relationships. Burnet can feel easily flustered. Burnet appears to have a habit of snapping her fingers when she figures something out and She grins when something she finds amuses her. Professor Burnet coined the name "Therian Forme" for the Forces of Nature.[3]
Professor Burnet is married to Professor Kukui who she lives with on Alola's Route 1 on Melemele Island. She appears to find the Masked Royal attractive, often smiling and blushing at the thought of him. During the end scene of Sun and Moon, she notices the similarities between her husband and the Royal. In Pokémon Dream Radar, she mentioned that she was colleagues with Professor Fennel in the Unova region, who also had an interest in researching the dreams of Pokémon. According to Lillie, Professor Burnet treats Lillie like her own daughter, revealing a mother-daughter -like relationship.
Appearance
Professor Burnet is an adult woman who stands at the height of 5'7" (1.70 m). In the Alola-based games, Burnet appears to have more tanned skin than she does in Pokémon Dream Radar. In both games, she has medium-length white hair that stands up on end with two curly side bangs and a long ponytail that curves upward ending in 5 points. She has thin eyebrows with almond-shaped eyes and yellow irises.
Pokémon Dream Radar
Burnet's head is covered by a pair of large thick goggles that wrap around her head with a gray strap. The lens are angular and are yellow with crosshairs, a symbol used across the game is also applied to the bridge on the goggle's nose. Burnet wears a one-piece black jumpsuit, that is decorated with multiple colors and lines appearing in green, blue and gold around her chest with a gray chest plate on the front. This jumpsuit is a big larger for her and becomes baggy near her ankles. Large open boots cover her feet and shins, having a single gold line down the front, ending at the ankles. The Jumpsuit's sleeves, decorated with orange lines, reach towards her arms, stopping beneath her gloves. Burnet wears white wool gloves, with multiple seams. Like most Pokémon Professors, Burnet has a large white lab coat, the sleeves are pulled back towards her elbows and has large pockets on both sides. Her coat is often left open.
Generation VII
In Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Burnet wears a green headband that covers the backside of her head, this headband is similar in shape to the strap of her goggles from Dream Radar. Burnet has a silver metal chain necklace ending with her wedding ring. Burnet's gray thin-strap tank top lacks detail aside from the seems on the sides. She wears a jumpsuit, similar to the black and orange jumpsuit that she had originally worn in Dream Radar, as leggings, the upper half is tied around her waist on top of a blue skirt. The leggings are also connected to her shoes, having green soles that cover her toes. The top of her feet are open. If Burnet were to wear her jumpsuit completely, the sleeves would go down her entire arm length like in Dream Radar. The jumpsuit has a zipper that goes down the middle.
Pokémon Dream Radar
Professor Burnet conducts research on the Pokémon found in the Interdream Zone, and develops extensions and upgrades to the player's Beam and Vivoscope by harvesting Dream Orbs. These upgrades are used to catch the Forces of Nature in their Therian Formes.
Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
Burnet made her core series debut in Pokémon Sun and Moon, where she is revealed to have married Professor Kukui of Alola. Three months prior to the start of the story, Burnet had found Lillie lying on a beach, with a weakened Cosmog named Nebby in her bag. She contacts her husband who proceeds bring the young girl to Route 1 to live in the Pokémon Research Lab's Loft. Ever since, she and her husband have been helping Lillie find out more about Nebby. After the player completes the three island trials in Akala Island, Kukui invites the player to the Dimensional Research Lab in Heahea City, where she has been researching the strange phenomena occurring in the Alola region, Ultra Wormholes and the Ultra Beasts. Burnet offers the player the Reveal Glass later in the games. In Sun and Moon, Lillie leaves for the Kanto region in hopes of helping her mother, Professor Kukui makes the claim that Burnet was too sad to see Lillie go and that she is allowed to use the space in the loft whenever she pleases. Burnet and Professor Kukui suggest that Z-Power comes from Ultra Wormholes.
Professor Burnet appears alongside her husband and his Rockruff during the credits of Sun and Moon. This photograph is implied to have been taken by the player and was sent to Lillie in a package.
Her role in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is nearly identical, with only the ending of the game being changed as Lillie never leaves Alola.
In spin-off games
Pokémon Masters EX
While not appearing directly, Profesor Kukui mentions in off hand conversation at the Pokémon Center that Professor Burnet has arrived on Pasio too.

History
Black 2 & White 2 arc
Professor Burnet debuted in this chapter. She was first seen in a fantasy in Pink Slip, where she was mentioned by Fennel, who said she was a great help to her research on Dream Mist.
Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon arc
Burnet moved to the Alola region and married Professor Kukui. Three months prior to the start of the chapter, Burnet found Lillie and a Pokémon lying unconscious on a beach. In The Decision and the Tournament of Six, she was seen with Lillie at Professor Kukui's house, where they watched a tournament being held at an Iki Town festival on the television. Burnet was excited to see the Masked Royal battle against Sun in the first round, but was disappointed when he ends up losing.
Later, Burnet received several Pokémon documents from Kukui while he was at the Dimensional Research Lab. As they talked, Burnet revealed that Nebby is actually the Legendary Pokémon Cosmog. Burnet suggested that Lillie may have been trying to keep Nebby away from someone, but she refused to clarify who she was trying to escape from. To Kukui's surprise, Burnet suggested that he make Lillie his assistant, as it could help her begin to open up more.
Later, Burnet decided to take Lillie shopping in order to get her out of the house more. As they headed towards Hau'oli City's boutique, Burnet accidentally triggered painful memories of Lillie's past. Lillie's distress caused Nebby to fly out and begin clawing at the sky, creating a crack in the sky in the process. When Lillie eventually fainted, Nebby stopped and went down to check on her condition out of concern. Later that day, Burnet contacted Professor Kukui, Sun, Moon, and their friends and told them all about what happened to Lillie. With this information, everyone speculated that the various cracks seen around Alola were caused by Nebby and that Lillie must have been running away from some villains in order to keep Nebby from them. Worried that she may not be able to keep Lillie safe alone, Professor Kukui suggested Burnet meet up with him, Sun, and Moon at Ula'ula Island.
Later, Burnet and Lillie used Mantine Surf to travel over the water to Professor Kukui's yacht as it headed off to Ula'ula. Shortly after arriving, the group was attacked by a wild Bruxish, which used its psychic powers to give everyone headaches and pass out. Although Sun successfully rescued Lillie, who was knocked into the water, he and Lillie ended up passing out as well and are separated from the others. Later, Burnet, Kukui, and Moon were rescued by the Aether Foundation and taken to Aether Paradise. There, they met Faba and Wicke, who explained what happened to everyone and offered to give a tour of Aether Paradise.
Later, after leaving Aether Paradise, Burnet, Kukui, and Moon took Kukui's yacht to Ula'ula Island. Kukui, sensing a strange change in the atmosphere, feared that a battle may have started in the hour since the Captains' group arrived at Po Town to talk with Team Skull. With nowhere to dock the yacht, Moon told Kukui to get as close to Ula'ula as he can while she had Rowlet carry her to Po Town by flying through the air. After finding a place to dock, Burnet and Kukui met back up with Sun and Moon in Po Town. Kukui gave Sun one of the Mirage Berries that was left behind on the yacht so that Sun and Moon could feed it to Tapu Bulu.
Later, Burnet went off to the Aether House to meet up with Lillie. When Lillie spotted Gladion fighting off one of the Ultra Beasts that had been rampaging around Alola, she ran off to go see him. When Lillie arrived at Gladion's location, she was attacked by a Guzzlord. Though Burnet tried to protect Lillie, both were saved by Gladion's Silvally. To everyone's surprise, Lillie and Gladion revealed themselves to be siblings as well as the children of Aether Foundation President, Lusamine. Lillie explained that three months ago, she stole Nebby from Lusamine in order to prevent her from using its power to further her plans. When Lillie presented a Sun Flute she also took from Aether Paradise, Gladion decided that they should head towards the altar.
In Finale!! The Battle Against the Other Dimension!, Burnet was revealed to have learned of Kukui's identity as the Masked Royal, leading to them now participating together at the Battle Royal Dome as "Luran and Kommo".
Pokémon
Ride Pokémon
Professor Burnet used a Ride Mantine to surf to Professor Kukui's yacht with Lillie. Shortly after arriving, a wild Bruxish arrived and attacked everyone with its psychic abilities. During the commotion, Mantine collided into the yacht, knocking itself out in the process. It was later rescued alongside everyone and taken to Aether Paradise to be healed from its injuries.
None of Mantine's moves are known.

Trivia
- Professor Burnet was designed by Megumi Mizutani.[4]
- While Burnet wears no lab coat in Pokémon Sun and Moon, the lab coat she wears in Pokémon Dream Radar is identical to the lab coat her husband Professor Kukui wears in Pokémon Sun and Moon, possibly implying she gave her lab coat to her husband.
