History

Latias and Ash

Latias debuted in The Road Most Traveled!, when she was hit by Team Rocket as they blasted off. The impact sent Latias falling into a forest pond below, and the sound of her crash landing was heard by Ash and his Pokémon. With his Buizel's help, Ash swam out to her and brought her to land. Using Potions and bandages, Ash treated Latias's wounds and stood guard for her overnight. The next morning, Latias was captured by Team Rocket alongside Ash, though they both were soon freed by Pikachu. After recovering, Latias flew off, but started to follow Ash whilst invisible.

From A Fated Face-Off! to Getting to the Heart of it All!, an invisible Latias observed Ash and his friends from afar, taking notice of the boy's tendency to help others.

In Rocket Revengers!, Latias watched as Team Rocket ambushed Pikachu and managed to alert Ash to the trouble he was in. Latias watched as Ash saved a Slakoth, before rescuing them. After sending Team Rocket blasting off, Latias showed Ash, Misty, and Brock a vision of a Latios in danger.

In Ash and Latios, Latias led Ash and his friends to Latios, only for them to be attacked by a Pokémon hunter who was after the two Eon Pokémon. While protecting Latios, Latias was turned to stone by the hunter's energy blaster. The hunter fled with Latias, but Ash was later able to rescue her and restore her to normal by having Pikachu destroy the hunter's device. After Ash and Latios had defeated the hunter's Hydreigon, Latias held him in place until Officer Jenny could arrest him. Latias subsequently bid farewell to Ash and left with Latios, arriving in Alto Mare sometime later.

Personality and characteristics

Latias being invisible

At first, Latias was distrustful towards humans as she became scared and hostile to them. However, after seeing Ash and his Pokémon's selflessness, Latias was convinced that some humans are trustworthy. Since then, Latias started taking an interest in Ash as she begins following and observing him on his journeys whilst being invisible. In addition, Latias values Ash's safety as she would protect him from danger.
