Recurring Pokémon that have been caught
Twenty-eight recurring wild Pokémon were caught, twelve by Ash, one by Lance, one by Clemont, one by Jessie, one by Lana, one by Acerola, two by James, three by Goh, two by Roy, two by Dot, and two by Liko.
- In Ash Catches a Pokémon, Ash caught a Caterpie that he started to battle in the previous episode. It was eventually released as a Butterfree in Bye Bye Butterfree.
- After Ash released his Lapras in Viva Las Lapras, it has since reappeared twice as a wild Pokémon, once in Lapras of Luxury and again in Ride, Lapras, Ride!.
- In Rage of Innocence, Lance caught the red Gyarados, which was causing a rampage at the Lake of Rage in the previous episode.
- In Channeling the Battle Zone!, Ash caught the Aipom that had been following him since Slaking Kong!. She had a habit of taking Ash's hat from him making him chase her around, sometimes lowering her eyelid and sticking out her tongue at him when he tried to get it back. She was eventually traded to Dawn in Throwing the Track Switch and evolved into an Ambipom in Journey to the Unown! under her care.
- In Gotta Get a Gible!, Ash caught the Gible that had been following him since the previous episode, after he helped him learn Draco Meteor.
- In Battling the Bully!, Ash caught the Sunglasses Krokorok (which debuted as a Sandile) that had been following him since A Sandile Gusher of Change!. He evolved into a Krookodile in Ash, Iris, and Trip: Then There Were Three, during his battle against Iris's Dragonite.
- After Ash released his Greninja in Facing the Needs of the Many!, it has since reappeared multiple times as a wild Pokémon.
- In A Shockingly Cheeky Friendship!, Clemont caught the Dedenne that had been following Bonnie since the previous episode, and gave it to her to take care of.
- After Ash released his Goodra in Beyond the Rainbow!, it has since reappeared multiple times as a wild Pokémon.
- In First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, Jessie caught a Mimikyu after it helped Team Rocket attack Ash and Pikachu in the previous episode. After its release in Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!, it has since reappeared multiple times as a wild Pokémon.
- After James released his Mareanie in Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!, she has since reappeared multiple times as a wild Pokémon.
- In Rocking Clawmark Hill!, Ash caught the Rockruff that lived with him and Professor Kukui in Kukui's home since The Guardian's Challenge!. Although Kukui took care of it, it was never actually his Pokémon. It evolved into a Dusk Form Lycanroc in Rising from the Ruins!.
- In One Journey Ends, Another Begins..., Ash caught the Litten that often wandered around Melemele Island since Alola to New Adventure!. It evolved into a Torracat in Pushing the Fiery Envelope!. It later evolved into an Incineroar in Fiery Surprises!.
- In Love at First Twirl!, Ash caught the Poipole that often wandered around Melemele Island since A Mission of Ultra Urgency!. He released it back into the wild in Securing the Future!.
- In We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, Lana caught the Eevee that had traveled across the sea to Alola from Lillier and the Staff! to Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!. She gave him the nickname Sandy.
- In Got Meltan?, Ash caught the Meltan that befriended Rowlet in the previous episode. In Final Rivals!, it evolved into Melmetal.
- In The Battlefield of Truth and Love!, Acerola was revealed to have caught the Totem-sized Gengar nicknamed Greedy Rapooh, which she tried to help in Why Not Give Me a Z-Ring Sometime?.
- In Mind-Boggling Dynamax!, Goh caught the Scorbunny that had been following him since the previous episode. In Kicking It from Here Into Tomorrow!, it evolved into Raboot. Later in Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!, it evolved into Cinderace.
- In A Chilling Curse!, Ash caught the Gengar that haunts the Cerise Laboratory since Best Friend...Worst Nightmare!.
- In Sobbing Sobble!, Goh caught the Sobble that had been following him since the previous episode.

- In The Wonders of the World!, Liko caught the Terapagos that first appeared in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part Two), nicknaming it Pagogo.
- In The Knight in the Ruins, Liko caught the Charcadet that first appeared in The Terapagos I Don't Know. It evolved into an Armarouge in HZ124.
- In Riding the Waves, Dot caught the Gimmighoul that first appeared in The Terapagos I Don't Know. It evolved into a Gholdengo in HZ120.
- In HZ125, Amethio was revealed to have caught the White Zygarde, which belonged to his grandfather, Gibeon, in From So Far Away.
