Generation II

Reversal cannot cause a critical hit, and its damage is not varied by a random factor during damage calculation.

Generation III onwards

Reversal can now cause a critical hit, and its damage is now varied by a random factor during damage calculation.

Reversal can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Endure was used in the previous turn.
