Iron Defense (Japanese: てっぺき Iron Wall) is a non-damaging Steel-type move introduced in Generation III. It was TR46 in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and is TM104 in Generation IX.
Effect
Iron Defense raises the user's Defense stat by two stages.
If powered up by a Steelium Z into Z-Iron Defense, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Iron Defense's PP has been increased to 20, and it raises the user's defensive stats for five turns.

In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Iron Defense is a move with 17 PP. The user raises its Defense by two stages. This move is affected by Snatch and Taunt.
In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, the move's PP has been decreased to 16.
Pokémon Rumble Rush
In Pokémon Rumble Rush, all status moves including Iron Defense could only be used by opposing Pokémon and could not be obtained on any caught Pokémon. Iron Defense could be seen as a move used by Boss Blastoise, Shieldon, Bastiodon, Bronzor.

In Pokémon UNITE, Iron Defense is Aegislash's second starting move. The move envelops the user in a powerful protective force for 3s or after blocking one attack. If this move blocks an attack, increase boost count by 1. After reaching level 8, this move is replaced by either Wide Guard or Iron Head.
