Muddy Water (Japanese: だくりゅう Muddy River) is a damage-dealing Water-type move introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation IV, it was the signature move of Marshtomp and Swampert. It was TR45 in Generation VIII.

Effect

Muddy Water inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of lowering each target's accuracy by one stage. Muddy Water targets all adjacent opponents.

Generation III to V

Muddy Water's power is 95.

Muddy Water can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 2 bonus appeal points if Rain Dance was used in the previous turn.

Generation VI onwards

Muddy Water's power was lowered to 90. Muddy Water will also destroy stalagmites found in the background of battles.
