Scorching Sands (Japanese: ねっさのだいち Hot Sand Terrain) is a damage-dealing Ground-type move introduced in Generation VIII.

Effect

Scorching Sands inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of burning the target.

Upon execution, Scorching Sands will thaw the user if frozen (even if the move fails to hit the target). Scorching Sands also thaws a frozen target hit by it.

Generation VIII

Scorching Sands cannot be selected in a battle.

Generation IX

Scorching Sands is programmed into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but cannot be selected in a battle as no available Pokémon can learn it. However, it can be called by Metronome.
