Swagger (Japanese: いばる Swagger) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation II. It was TM34 in Generation II, and TM87 from Generation IV to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as well as in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It is similar to Flatter.

Effect

Generation II

Swagger raises the target's Attack stat by two stages and confuses it. Even if the target is already confused, or cannot become confused due to an effect such as Safeguard, its Attack will still be raised.

If the target's Attack is already at +6 stages, it will not become confused.

Swagger has an accuracy of 90%.

Generation III to VI

Even if the target's Attack is already at +6 stages, it will still become confused. Even if the target has Contrary and its Attack is already at -6 stages, it will still become confused.

Swagger fails if the target cannot be confused and either its Attack is at +6 stages or it has Contrary and its Attack is at -6 stages.

Generation VII onwards

Swagger's accuracy was lowered from 90% to 85%.

If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Swagger, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.
