Rock Blast (Japanese: ロックブラスト Rock Blast) is a damage-dealing Rock multi-strike move introduced in Generation III. It was TM54 in Sword and Shield, and is TM076 in Generation IX.

Effect
Effect
Generation III
Generations III and IV
Rock Blast inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit two times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit three times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit four times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit five times. This gives the attack an average power of 75, ignoring the possibility of missing. Each hit made has an equal chance to be a critical hit.
Rock Blast inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. Each strike made has an equal chance to be a critical hit.

Rock Blast may continue attacking after breaking a substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last strike of this move.

If the user is holding a King's Rock or Razor Fang, each consecutive hit has an equal chance to cause the opponent to flinch.

Pokémon with the Ability Skill Link will always hit five times when using Rock Blast unless it misses.

Rock Blast has an accuracy of 80%.

Rock Blast will end immediately if it breaks a substitute (except in Pokémon XD). Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.
Generations V and VI
Rock Blast's accuracy increased from 80% to 90%. There is now a 35% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 35% chance it will hit 3 times, a 15% chance it will hit 4 times, and a 15% chance it will hit 5 times. The average total base power (including the 10% base miss chance) is now 69.8.

Generation IV
If a Focus Sash activates before the last strike is dealt, the following strike will cause the defending Pokémon to faint. A Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent. Sturdy will activate with each hit if the defending Pokémon has a maximum HP of 1.
The effects are the same as the previous generation, except it will continue attacking after a substitute is broken.

Due to the introduction of the Ability Skill Link, a Pokémon with said Ability will always hit five times when using Rock Blast, if it does not miss.
If the target has Weak Armor, each strike will activate it.

Generation V
Generation VII onwards
Accuracy increased from 80 to 90. There is now a 33.3% chance that it will hit two times, a 33.3% chance it will hit three times, a 16.7% chance it will hit four times, and a 16.7% chance it will hit five times. The average number of hits remains 3. Unlike previous generations, if Focus Sash, Focus Band, or Sturdy activate before the last hit is dealt, the following hit will cause the defending Pokémon to faint; however, Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent of the previous one. Each hit will cause Weak Armor to activate.
Pokémon with Bulletproof are immune to Rock Blast. Each strike will now also activate Stamina.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
Rock Blast inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use. Each hit has a separate accuracy check, though the move will continue even when a hit fails. Prior to Gates to Infinity, if a targeted Pokémon faints in middle of the attack and is revived with a Reviver Seed, the remaining hits will be able to continue to attack the enemy. The move's critical-hit rate is reduced (1% in the Rescue Team, Explorers and Adventure Squad series).

Rock Blast (Japanese: ロックブラスト Rock Blast) is a damage-dealing Rock-type multi-strike move introduced in Generation III. It was TM54 in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and is TM076 in Generation IX.

Effect

Generations III and IV

Rock Blast inflicts damage, hitting the target 2-5 times per use.

If the target has Weak Armor, each strike will activate it.

Generation VII onwards

Pokémon with Bulletproof are immune to Rock Blast. Each strike will now also activate Stamina.
