Along with his partner Pikachu, Scottie explores the land of Pasio to compete in the Pokémon Masters League. Scottie also forms sync pairs with other Pokémon during his adventures, including Torchic, Solgaleo, Regirock, Cobalion, Mesprit, Registeel, Alcremie, Raikou, and Buzzwole, as well as various Pokémon hatched from Eggs.

In the games

PML arc

Scottie arrives on the artifical island of Pasio, looking to compete in the Pokémon Masters League, he gets gifted a Poryphone from Trista and forms a team with Brock and Misty. The trio travel across the reigon to find new teammates such as Rosa, and to collect the five PML Badges required to participate.

On his travels he meets Professor Bellis, a researcher specializing in sync pairs such as him. He learns about the villainous Team Break and how they're causing trouble across the island, Scottie helps put a stop to their plans whenever he can. He also forms a rivalry with Paulo, a student with a strong sense of justice and high expectations for himself, and Lear, an arrogant prince who is motivated by becoming the future heir to the throne, being raised strictly to view Pokémon as mere tools and failing to form a true bond with them.

Scottie learns about sygna suits when Brock wears one to help in the upcoming tournament. During one of the breaks, he ends up helping Rising Star Stella in finding her lost Torchic, and is gifted her second Torchic to raise. He wins in battles against various trainers to rise up the tournament bracket, including Paulo and Lear.

His team ends up winning the PML after a hard fought battle againts Red, Blue, and Leaf, making them the first Champion team of the PML. When Lear announces a second PML at the awards ceremony, he is surprised at first, but is excited to participate again.

Villain arc

After his victory in the PML, Scottie gets involved in stopping various villainous teams, such as Team Rocket, Team Galactic, and the Aether Foundation. He also meets Paulo's childhood friend in Tina, who immediately get along well together.

While this is happening, Paulo is going through a series of self confidence issues. This reaches a breaking point where Paulo ends up taking over Team Break with Lear's Hoopa, bringing matters into his own hands and trying to disband other teams with force.

Scottie confronts Paulo about his extreme methods before being defeated and dismissed, as Paulo plans a large-scale attack on Team Rocket. This ends up backfiring with Giovanni appealing to Hoopa and forming a Sync Pair with it. Things go from bad to worse as Giovanni uses Hoopa's newfound power to wreak havoc across the island.

With the aid of Professor Oak, Scottie, Paulo and Tina make amends and set out to stop Team Rocket. The other villainous team leaders are able to help create openings for the trio to reach Giovanni at the stadium. They enact a plan to save Hoopa by using a machine invented by Colress that reverts Hoopa to its Confined state. This succeeds and Giovanni retreats for the time being.

Arceus arc

After saving the region from Team Rocket's plan, Scottie decides to aid in research of the mysterious stones suddenly appearing across the region. Learning of their unique properties and power, Scottie is invited to demonstrate the potential applications to the public. During the demonstration, a bright light envelops the stadium and tells everyone to "Show me thy bond."

Other

Sometime during Scottie's journey, he helps various people recruit Legendary Pokemon such as Silver with Ho-Oh, Zinnia with Rayquaza, and Professor Sycamore with Xerneas. He also recruits a Solgaleo for his own team after working with Hau and Roxie

He becomes friends with various sync pairs across the island and has numerous conversations and training sessions with them, whether it be planned or coincidental. He is often seen helping Lear, Rachel, and Sawyer with island maintaining duties, and is an active user of facilities like the Trainer Lodge and Battle Villa.

Professor Bellis offers him opportunities to pair up with new Pokémon, such as an Egg containing one of the Kanto first partner Pokémon. He can also choose to pair up with one of many different Alcremie variants.

Pokémon hatched from Eggs

Scottie can also form sync pairs with a number of Pokémon hatched from Eggs. He is first given an Egg upon meeting Professor Bellis, as she recruits Scottie to help her research the sync pair bond formed between Trainers and Pokémon hatched from Eggs. He is allowed to choose between a Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle Egg. These sync pairs are listed in the Dex, and their details are shown below. Their Dex entries are from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, with the exception of Bulbasaur whose Dex entry is from Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

After hatching his first Egg, Scottie can receive more Eggs from Professor Bellis and form sync pairs with the Pokémon that hatch from them. The list of all other Pokémon that can be hatched from Eggs can be found here.

Pokémon Masters Animated Trailer

Scottie appeared in the Pokémon Masters Animated Trailer, where he joined Rosa and Brock in a journey across Pasio. In a forest, the trio came across Erika, a Beauty, and a Lass; and battled their Vileplume, Lotad, and Whimsicott, respectively. Scottie's group soon came out victorious, earning the Tranquility Badge, after which Erika joined them on their journey.
