Trivia
- Thorton & Bronzong were the first sync pair with access to the Type Resistance status change.
- The second sync pair with access to this status change, Lyra (Special Costume) & Phanpy, would not be added until 1326 days later, on April 15, 2023.
- Thorton was the first scout-exclusive 4★ sync pair to receive the ability to be raised to 6★ EX.
- During Two Factory Heads, it's revealed that Thorton's Magnezone was originally a rental Pokémon for visitors to Pasio, which Sawyer gave to him after it proved too rowdy to obey anyone else.
- Thorton & Magnezone's ability to apply the Restrain effect to opposing sync pairs may be a reference to Magnezone's Ability Magnet Pull, which prevents opposing Steel types from switching out.
Origin
Thorton's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. While Thorton does not have a set team in the core series games, Bronzong is one of the rental Pokémon he can potentially use. Its color scheme also matches that of his outfit. Bronzong's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
Magnezone is another rental Pokémon that Thorton can potentially use in the core series games. Magnezone's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
