Description This leader of the expansive Team Rainbow Rocket enterprise, which aims to use Pokémon to rule the world, believes Pokémon are no more than tools.

Giovanni (Japanese: サカキ Sakaki) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. He forms a sync pair with Mewtwo. The sync pair could be obtained during the limited-time Legendary Event, Lurking Shadow.

Giovanni and Mewtwo can be battled against in:

  • Lurking Shadow (December 5 to 18, 2019; March 6 to 16, 2020; February 8 to March 10, 2021) - Giovanni aims to sow chaos by unleashing the hidden power of the sync stone. However, his attempts are thwarted by the player, Brock and Misty, and the power found from the bond of a sync pair. Giovanni joins the player's team but remains undecided whether he will truly change his ways or hatch a new plan.
