Charles's alter ego, A☆Gilder

Charles appeared in BW057. He assumes an alter-ego known as Kaiketsu A☆Gilder (快傑ア☆ギルダー) to fight crime alongside his Accelgor.

With the help of Ash, Cilan, Iris and Linda, they manage to defeat the evil Professor Tsuraraa/Freege Man and his henchmen.

Charles is set to reappear in BW059.

Accelgor
Accelgor is Charles's partner when he is in his civillian identity but when he transforms into A☆Gilder he becomes his trusted sidekick. Like all of its species, Accelgor is quick and swift and uses this to its advantage when fighting crime, despite Charles's usual clumsiness. During Freegeman's attempt to rob Cold Storage, Accelgor showed off its abilities and was able to defeat Freegeman's powerful Vanillish in battle.

Accelgor's known moves are Agility, Double Team, Struggle Bug and Swift.

Trivia

  • Charles's age differs drastically between the games and the anime. In the games, he is depicted as a middle aged man, while in the anime, he is shown to be in his late teens or early twenties.
  • Charles's alter-ego Kaiketsu A☆Gilder most likely draws inspiration from Kaiketsu Zubat, with certain other aspects, like his A☆Gilder Kick attack, from the titular characters of the Kamen Rider Series. Coincidentally, Zubat's latest appearance was in the fortieth anniversary Kamen Rider film.
