Aether Foundation (Japanese: エーテルざいだん Aether Foundation) is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation VII. They are people who work for the Aether Foundation.
Most members of this Trainer class are Aether Foundation Employees battled outside of the main storyline at the Battle Tree and Battle Royal Dome, using distinctive names instead of simply being called "Employees". Faba also uses this Trainer class in most of his post-game battles. The Aether Foundation at the Battle Royal Dome exclusively use Water- and Grass-type Pokémon; however, those at the Battle Tree do not appear to specialize in anything. Faba himself is a known Psychic-type specialist.

In the anime
An Aether Foundation Employee first appeared in A Dream Encounter!. Several other Employees appeared in Deceiving Appearances!, including Team Rocket, who had been personally hired by Faba to serve as his underlings. However, they resigned in Mission: Total Recall! upon finding out about Faba's plans to erase Lillie's memories, declaring that even they wouldn't stoop so low.
In The Professors' New Adventure!, Faba was revealed to have been demoted from his Branch Chief rank and having become Wicke's assistant.
In the manga

Aether Foundation Employees appeared on a television commercial in Homecoming and the Brilliant Professional Golfer, where two Employees advertised their organization.
