A Viscount (Japanese: ヴァイカウント Viscount) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that debuted in Generation VI. This Trainer class is a title of nobility, granted in the Battle Chateau, and Trainers with this class only appear there. Viscount is the second lowest rank of nobility for males, ranking above Baron and below Earl. Its counterpart for females is Viscountess.

The male player character may earn the title of Viscount by winning enough battles in the Battle Chateau. All opponent Viscounts use parties of one Pokémon at level 20 (if no Writ of Challenge is active).

Nico as a Viscount in the anime

In Breaking Titles at the Chateau!, Nico's rank was upgraded from Baron to Viscount after he defeated another Baron-ranked Trainer, Farrell, in a battle at the Battle Chateau.

In the anime, a Baron needs to achieve ten victories at the Battle Chateau in order to be promoted to Viscount.
