A Musician (Japanese: ミュージシャン Musician) is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation V. In Unova, they are depicted as young men with long hair and glasses playing an acoustic guitar and resemble Generation IV's Guitarists. In Galar, they are depicted as young men with short hair and sunglasses holding a microphone. In Paldea, they are young women depicted as country artists, wearing cowgirl clothing.

In Generations V and IX, most Pokémon used by Musicians are related to sound and music, and tend to use sound-based moves. In Generation VIII, they specialize in Electric-type Pokémon.

In Double Battles, a Musician paired with a female Dancer are called a Music Crew.

Black & White arc

A Musician appeared with his Eelektrik in Unraveling Mysteries.

Another Musician appeared in With a Little Help From My Friends. He was based on the Musician who plays the guitar in Café Sonata and teaches Meloetta Relic Song in the games. He was impressed by Bianca's flute performances that White recorded and sent to him, and invited the two to Café Sonata. By the time White and Bianca arrived, he was being attacked by a wild Vullaby, and his hand was broken as a result of the attack, which left him unable to play the guitar.

Sword & Shield arc

A Musician was briefly shown at Hammerlocke in Stealth!! Infiltrate the Energy Plant.

In Chomp!! It's Dracovish, a Musician who was Eric (Japanese: トシユキ Toshiyuki) from Macro Cosmos's in disguise was sent with his cohorts to Route 9 Tunnel to dispose of a wild Dracovish that suddenly Dynamaxed. The Dracovish was saved by Marvin, who used his Sniffler to stun everyone long enough for him to catch Dracovish and escape. Afterward, Eric and the others reported their failure to Oleana and were ordered to stand by in Wyndon.
