Thunder (Japanese: かみなり Thunder) is a damage-dealing Electric-type move introduced in Generation I. It is TM25 in all generations so far.

Effect

Generation I

Thunder deals damage and has a 10% chance of paralyzing the target.

Generation II

Thunder has 100% accuracy when used during heavy rain, and has 50% accuracy if used during bright sunlight. It also has a 30% chance of paralyzing the target. It can hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turn of Fly.

Generation III

Same as previous generations, but also deals double damage on a Pokémon using Bounce.

Generation IV

In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl it has a 30% chance to penetrate through Protect or Detect when used in heavy rain, but not in Pokémon Platinum onwards.

Generation V

Thunder is guaranteed to hit the target in rain regardless of the user's accuracy drops or the target's evasion boosts.

Generation VI

Thunder's power changed from 120 to 110.
