Physiology
Skuntank are medium sized mammalian Pokémon that are a dark purple with a white stripe running down their backs. Their cheeks are now not as large, resembling a cat in appearence. However, their tails are much longer and are often laid out on their backs and over their face.
Skuntank is a medium-sized mammalian Pokémon that resembles a skunk with the face of a cat. It has purple, spiky fur with several tan stripes. The whiskers present on its pre-evolution have since vanished or have been replaced by furry purple tufts on the sides of Skuntank's face. Its legs are tan, and the tan coloration of its underside now forms a spiky pattern. Its nose is larger than its pre-evolution. Its massive tail with a cream colored stripe, sits on top of its back and head.

Gender differences
Skuntank is known for its noxious fluid which smells dreadful. It can spray this fluid over 160 feet (50 meters), and the longer it allows the liquid to ferment within its belly, the more powerful the smell. Unlike its pre-evolution and real-life skunks, which sprays fluids from their rears, Skuntank sprays its fluid from its tail tip, which can open. The stench of Skuntank's fluid varies depending on its diet. Skuntank prefers to nest in large, prickly bushes in heavily wooded areas and digs holes in the ground to make its nest. While Skuntank can use its poisonous fluids to take down prey, ironically it cannot handle the smell of its own stench, abandoning potential defeated meals as a result.
None.

Special abilities
Evolution
Skuntank are known for their noxious fluid which not only smells dreadfully disgusting, but is possibly flammable and explosive. It can spray this fluid over 160 feet. Unlike its pre-evolution and real-life Skunks, Skuntank spray this from their tail tip instead of the base.
Skuntank evolves from Stunky.

Behavior
(For specifics on this Pokémon's evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)
It is likely that like Stunky, it uses its foul smelling spray to defend itself.

* Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness: Skuntank is the leader of Team Skull, a band of thieves. When he first appears, he uses his stench to knock out the player. With Koffing, he can perform a noxious gas combo attack, and uses that to knock out the player's team with a horrible stench several times over the course of the game, but this fails against Wigglytuff later on. Toward the end of the game when he steals the Relic Fragment, his team's lives are saved by the player's team and he gives the relic back.

Trivia
Trivia
*Skuntank weighs 83.8 lbs, which is the same as the Lucas in . This trait is shared with Fearow, Togekiss, Yanma and Sudowoodo.
* Due to the censor that prevents Pokémon with offensive nicknames from being traded on the GTS, an English-language Skuntank cannot be traded on the GTS without a nickname in Black and White.
*To date, Skuntank is the only non-Fire Pokémon to learn Flamethrower naturally.
*In the Galactic Hideout in Eterna City, Jupiter has an underleveled Skuntank. It is is level 20 ()/21 (Platinum), but Stunky evolves at level 34.
*Skuntank's color palette was changed slightly in HeartGold and SoulSilver, despite it being a non-Johto Pokémon. This also happened to Stunky, Registeel, Torterra, Chimchar, Glameow, Purugly, and Chatot.

Origin
Origin
Skuntank is based on a hog-nosed skunk. Its face being cat-like is likely based off of polecat, a nickname for skunks.
Skuntank is based on a hog-nosed skunk and a tank. Its appearance and notoriety of being incredibly foul-smelling is a trait also similar to the honey badger. Its stylized tail bears similarity to a Pompadour (hairstyle), a hairstyle that is commonly associated with Japanese delinquents. It also bears similarities to cats. Its face resembles the form of buttocks, both on its front and below. Its learning Self-Destruct, Explosion as well as its ability Aftermath is likely derived from gas bombs, flatulence or skunks releasing all of their spray at once if hit by moving cars. Its name, the ability to learn the move Flamethrower naturally, and the way it shoots up projectiles from the tip of its tail in front of its body may be derived from tanks and expands on warfare theme from Stunky's gas bombs.

Name origin
Name origin
Skuntank's name appears to be a combination of tank, skunk, and stank, the past tense of stink. Skutank is the same, just with one less letter due to character limits.
Skuntank and Skutank may be a combination of skunk, stank (past tense of stink), and tank.

Skuntank (Japanese: スカタンク Skutank) is a dual-type Poison/Dark Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves from Stunky starting at level 34.

Biology

Skuntank opening its tail tip

Skuntank is a medium-sized mammalian Pokémon that resembles a skunk with the face of a cat. It has purple, spiky fur with several tan stripes. The whiskers present on its pre-evolution have since vanished or have been replaced by furry purple tufts on the sides of Skuntank's face. Its legs are tan, and the tan coloration of its underside now forms a spiky pattern. Its nose is larger than its pre-evolution. Its massive tail with a cream colored stripe, sits on top of its back and head.

Sword In its belly, it reserves stinky fluid that it shoots from its tail during battle. As this Pokémon's diet varies, so does the stench of its fluid.
Shield It digs holes in the ground to make its nest. The stench of the fluid it lets fly from the tip of its tail is extremely potent.
Brilliant Diamond It sprays a vile-smelling fluid from the tip of its tail to attack. It can fire this spray more than 160 feet.
Shining Pearl It sprays a stinky fluid from its tail. The fluid smells worse the longer it is allowed to fester in its belly.

Trivia

Origin

Skuntank is based on a hog-nosed skunk and a tank. Its appearance and notoriety of being incredibly foul-smelling is a trait also similar to the honey badger. Its stylized tail bears similarity to a pompadour, a hairstyle that is commonly associated with Japanese delinquents.

Name origin

Skuntank and Skutank may be a combination of skunk, stank (past tense of stink), and tank.
