Description The silent type, this legendary, awesome Pokémon Trainer hardly talks at all. His best friend, Blue, is also his rival.

Red (Japanese: レッド Red) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. Only his sygna suit form is currently available, where he forms a sync pair with Charizard, which is capable of Mega Evolving. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited sync pair scout, and was first available on February 28, 2020. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from August 28, 2020, which unlocks Red's EX Style.

Trivia

  • Though Red is depicted mostly as silent in Pokémon Masters EX, there are several instances of him speaking in the game:
    • He speaks a single line in his Sync Pair Story: "… … … … … … Words are unnecessary!"
    • He speaks two lines during Chapter 30: "…I accept your challenge!" and "Congratulations! You won!"
      • In addition, in Chapter 30, Red's thoughts are heard once too: "Blue, Leaf… Let's win this—together!"
  • The color palette of Red's EX Style outfit is likely a reference to Mega Charizard X.

Origin

Red's design is unique to this game. Charizard is the evolved form of Charmander, one of the starter Pokémon of Kanto in the core series games, and one of the Pokémon Red typically uses as a non-player character in the core series. In addition, animated short series such as Pokémon Origins depict Red with Charizard as his starter Pokémon, with Origins being the first medium Charizard is seen Mega Evolving in. Charizard's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.
