Cara Liss (Japanese: ウカッツ Ukattsu) is a mysterious researcher in the Galar region who is found near the camping site on Route 6. She's partially covered in mud, wears an unmatched pair of shoes and socks, and clearly shows a shady expression and dialogue to her character.
In the games
Cara Liss has a revival machine that can bring Fossil Pokémon that are found in Galar back to life. She explains to the player that the fossils in Galar are always found in halves.
Head: Fossilized Bird (Electric), Fossilized Fish (Water)
Bottom: Fossilized Drake (Dragon), Fossilized Dino (Ice)
However, whichever top or bottom halves of a fossil the player finds, regardless to how they properly match, Cara Liss would still revive the fossils into artificial hybrids.
Dracozolt (Fossilized Bird + Fossilized Drake)
Arctozolt (Fossilized Bird + Fossilized Dino)
Trivia
- The Pokédex entries for the Fossil Pokémon may have been made up by Cara Liss to make them more credible.
- Since Cara Liss is clueless to the research on Fossil Pokémon, she might be a representation of the early paleontologists who would fight and argue with each other, mix and matching bones in order to win a biased claim.
