Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorns its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue.
By controlling its body temperature, it freezes the moisture in the air, producing ice crystals or diamond dust surrounding it. It is capable of freezing its fur into sharp needle-like icicles, which it can fire at opponents or use as protection as it tackles at its prey. It can quickly drop its body temperature below −75 °F (−60 °C). Glaceon is rather popular in ski resorts due to its ability to create powdery snow. Those captivated by Glaceon's beautiful snowfall will be instantly frozen without realizing it.
Glaceon is able to lower its body temperature very quickly. It freezes the atmosphere, creating diamond dust that glitters like gems while it flutters and dances around.
I knew Glaceon could freeze the air around it by controlling its body temperature, but I was surprised to see one whip up a flurry of diamond dust with just a single cry.
In Eevee & Friends, an artistic Glaceon was with an Eevee and its evolved forms, including the newly introduced Sylveon. It likes to decorate its room with elaborate ice sculptures.
Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokémon. An Ice type. One of Eevee's evolved forms, Glaceon can control its body temperature at will, and by freezing water particles in the air, it can create diamond dust.
Glaceon appears as a trophy alongside its counterpart, Leafeon.
Trophy information
A Fresh Snow Pokémon and a Verdant Pokémon. They are both evolutions of Eevee. Eevee can evolve into seven different Pokémon depending on what it has in its possession and where it is when it evolves. Glaceon is an Ice-type and can freeze all the fur on its body into protective quills. Leafeon is a Grass-type, and the air around it is always fresh and clean.
Despite Eevee being obtainable before the Pokémon League in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, it cannot evolve into Glaceon or Leafeon until after the Elite Four is defeated. This is because Twist Mountain, where the Ice Rock is located, cannot be reached until that point in the game, as the entrances to it and the Tubeline Bridge are blocked.
Glaceon shares its category with Vanillite. They are both known as the Fresh Snow Pokémon.
Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics with foxes, dogs, and cats. It may be more closely based on an arctic fox, due to their habitat. Assuming Leafeon draws inspiration from Siamese or other colorpoint cats, Glaceon may also draw some inspiration from them (especially blue points). Its "hair" resembles an ushanka or a scarf hat.
Name origin
Glaceon may be a combination of glacier (a large, slow-moving mass of ice on land) or glace (French for ice) and eon (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). Eon is a suffix all Eeveeevolutions share and was Eevee's English prototype name. Incidentally, its name is also an anagram of congeal (to become solid, usually by cooling).
Glacia may be derived from glacier. It may also involve grace.
