Feraligatr (Japanese: オーダイル Ordile) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Croconaw starting at level 30. It is the final form of Totodile.
Biology
Physiology
Feraligatr are big, bulky, bipedal crocodilian Pokémon, primarily blue in coloration with accentuations of red and yellow. In aspects of coloration, Feraligatr much resembles its preevolution Croconaw with the exception of the vanished ‘animal skin’ pattern. What is probably Feraligatr’s most notable feature, battle-wise, are its large, powerful toothy jaws which are able to cause heavy damage. Three teeth are visible when Feraligatr closes its mouth, two from the lower jaw and one from the upper. Feraligatr has three sets of spikes on its body, which differ in shape from those of Croconaw’s as all of them possess three prongs. The one on its back appears particularly prominent, due to its size and the bulk of Feraligatr’s shoulders. The bisected, V-shaped yellow pattern Feraligatr possessed as a Totodile has reappeared, except being on the lower portion of its body and between its thighs instead of the arms. Feraligatr also have large scales on their arms, tails, and legs, the latter of which give the appearance of pockets. A differing feature of Feraligatr in comparison to its pre-evolutions is that its irises are yellow instead of red and that all its digits have nails.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Along with the usual Template:Type2 abilities, Feraligatr's jaws have the ability to lock in place like its pre-evolutions. In combination with their large muscle power, this ability makes them extremely fearsome and brutal.
Behavior
Feraligatr are more used to swimming than to walking on land. When this Pokémon does venture out of water, it crawls on all fours in order to move faster, it has a hard time standing on its hind legs as a result of being big. However, when they are hunting or fighting, they are surprisingly agile and fast, due to their powerful hind legs that are used to kick the ground hard and charge. The fact that Feraligatr are cold-blooded Pokémon means that they need to be where they can adjust their body temperatures accordingly. Feraligatr intimidates its foes by opening its huge mouth, although it lacks the actual ability.
Habitat
Feraligatr are extremely rare in the wild. They live near water with the rest of their evolution family.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
It goes at blinding speed when it attacks and bites its prey. When it bites with its massive and powerful jaws, it shakes its head and savagely tears its victim up.

Trivia
- Feraligatr is the tallest final form of a Template:Type2 starter Pokémon, at 7 feet and 7 inches (2.3 meters).
- Feraligatr is the starter that reaches its final form the earliest, doing so at level 30. Coincidentally, Totodile evolves into its secondary form, Croconaw, at level 18, the latest of any starter Pokémon, tied with Turtwig into Grotle.
- The lack of a vowel between the T and R in Feraligatr is due to the ten character limit on Pokémon names, which also affects Victreebel.
- Feraligatr shares the same base stats with Blastoise, just in a different order.
- In Gold and Silver, Feraligatr's body was the same color in both its normal and shiny sprites. This was changed in Crystal.
- This makes Feraligatr one of few Pokémon with three different sprites in Generation II.
- Feraligatr is the only fully evolved Johto starter to appear in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure.
- Feraligatr and Alomomola are the only Pokémon with 5 syllables in their name.
- Coincidentally, they are both Water-types.
Origin
Like Totodile and Croconaw, Feraligatr is a crocodilian. Appearance-wise, it's an alligator.
Name origin
Feraligatr draws its name from a combination of feral (or possibly ferocious) and alligator. Its Japanese name may contain 王 ō, king, 皇 ō, emperor, or 大 ō, large, and dile is a reference to crocodiles. Feraligatr's Japanese name can be mis-translated as 'Odairu', the said name is a technical romanisation of the proper translation.
In other languages
- German: Impergator - Combination of imperial and alligator.
- French: Aligatueur - From alligator and tueur (killer).
- Korean: 장크로다일 Jangkeurodail - Partly based off crocodile.
- Chinese (Taiwan): 大力鱷 Dà Lì È - "Energetic crocodilian".
