Regice is a large, blue Pokémon composed of solid Antarctic ice. Its body is comprised of angular crystal-like shapes and its face has an unusual pattern consisting of seven yellow dots in a "+" formation. It has four spikes on its back and its two legs are conical and it balances its entire body on their points. There are three fingers on each of its pentagonal arms.
In the anime, Regice moves around by floating in the air. Regice cloaks itself in air that is -328 degrees Fahrenheit, and anything near Regice will become frozen. It can even survive when submerged in molten lava or other extremely hot temperatures. Regice was created in an ice age and has slept in a glacier for thousands of years and it was sealed away in ancient ruins by people in the past.
Regice debuted alongside the other members of its trio in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. It was a guardian of the Tree of Beginning. It first tried to attack Ash, but was stopped by Lucario. In the end, it and the other guardians realized Ash and his friends were not a threat and continued protecting the Tree of Beginning.
A Regice appeared in JN071, Ash, Goh, and Tsurugi encountered it on Mt. Coronet. After Ash's Pikachu failed to beat it, Tsurugi easily defeated it with his Urshifu. Tsurugi promised to return for it in the future as part of a study regarding the origins of Pokémon.

In the opening sequence of The Rise of Darkrai, a Regice, Regirock, and Registeel fired Hyper Beams that combined into one.
In PK18, a Regice met Pikachu and Meowth's groups at the other side of an ice bridge and sent them into a lake.
Regice cloaks itself with frigid air of negative 328 degrees F. Things will freeze solid just by going near this Pokémon. Its icy body is so cold, it will not melt even if it is immersed in magma.

Regice shares its category with Avalugg. They are both known as the Iceberg Pokémon.
Regice's base Attack and Special Attack, as well as Defense and Special Defense, are reverse of Regirock's.
Origin
Regice may be based on the golems of Hebrew legend. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened, or even killed in some legends.
The five Legendary titans may be collectively themed after historical epochs, with Regice representing the Ice Age.
Name origin
Regice is a combination of regis (Latin for royal) and ice.
