Glalie (Japanese: オニゴーリ Onigohri) is an Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Snorunt starting at level 42. It is one of Snorunt's two final forms, the other being Froslass.
Biology
Physiology
Glalie is a round Pokémon with what appears to be black skin. It has two large, conical horns on either side of its head and its skin is covered by ice. This ice recedes in certain places, revealing the black skin. Its eyes are an icy blue and it also seems to have teeth much like a blue whale's baleen plates. It also partly resembles a soccer ball.
Gender differences
None. While Glalie is often considered to be a masculine counterpart to Froslass, female Glalie exist.
Special abilities
Glalie's abilities are similar to those of its pre-evolution, only stronger. In fact, Glalie's icy powers are now strong enough to wield Sheer Cold. Other new moves include Dark Pulse, Earthquake, Gyro Ball and Explosion. Since Glalie is a fully evolved Pokémon, it can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.
Behavior
Glalie tends to be mischievous. They can block paths in order to trap travelers that dwell into mountain tops or caves. Despite its physical disposition, Glalie are very loyal Pokémon. They are often misjudged by their unfriendly appearance.
Habitat
Glalie live in deep cold caves and sometimes high atop mountain caps hidden within dark crooks of mountains. They have also been found to sleep withing large Ice fissures created by moving glaciers.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
Glalie is a predatory Pokémon. It captures its prey by literally freezing them in their tracks. They also may feed on the Babiri Berry.

In the manga
Noland is seen picking a Glalie as one of his rental Pokémon in his battle against Emerald. Although it came close to winning by delivering a would-be-fatal Sheer Cold that succeeded in hitting its target, Emerald's Sceptile was in fact not meant to be a rental Pokémon and survived due to its higher level. It eventually lost to Sceptile's Iron Tail, allowing Emerald to win the Knowledge Symbol.
Earlier, Glacia of the Hoenn Elite Four was seen in possession of a Glalie in Volume 21.

Trivia
- Despite being described as having a body made of rock, it is not of the Template:Type2.
- Glalie has been clearly seen levitating in the anime and yet it cannot have the ability Levitate.
- Glalie shares the exact same base stats with Phione.
- As of Generation V, Glalie's evolutionary line's egg group (Fairy and Mineral) are unique.
Origin
Similar to Jynx, Glalie is based on human features, most likely on a cold, distant person or facial expression. It also looks somewhat similar to an ice hockey mask. Due to its horns and teeth, it may be based on a standard Oni or possibly even onigiri, as it Japanese name suggests. It also resembles a hailstone.
Name origin
Glalie's name is likely a combination of glacier and goalie. Onigohri is a combination of 鬼 oni, demon, and 氷 kōri, ice. The "gohri" portion of the name also bears a strong similarity to the English word "goalie" and the Japanese spelling of it. The full name may be a pun on onigiri, which it slightly resembles.
