Trivia

  • Prior to Generation V, only Generation I Pokémon are able to learn Mega Punch by leveling up.
    • Similarly, since the breeding method's debut, Geodude and Magby are the only Pokémon that learn this move via breeding.
  • Geodude's family is unable to learn Mega Punch through breeding directly. It is possible to transfer another of Geodude's family that knows Mega Punch via TM in Generation I to Generation II games to breed with it, in order to obtain a Geodude with Mega Punch. This move is accessible again in Generation III by move tutor, and this method can be used again from Generation IV onwards.
