Trivia
- One riddle posed in Brock's Trivia made a pun out of Psyduck's Japanese name with 子を抱っこ ko o dakko, hug a child.
- Psyduck, as well as Golduck, has been in all four regional Pokédexes.
- In August of 2007, employees of Game Freak put Japanese Psyduck up on GTS for American Ponyta.
Origin
Psyduck's apparent lack of feathers and ability to fly, along with its claws, suggest that its design draws inspiration from a duck as well as the duck-billed platypus.
Name origin
Psyduck's name is possibly a combination of psychic, referring to its mental powers, and duck. Its Japanese name can be taken to mean small duck.
