Pancham (Japanese: ヤンチャム Yancham) is a Fighting-type Pokémon.
It evolves into Pangoro starting at level 32 if the player has a Dark-type Pokémon in their party.
Biology
Pancham are mammalian, bipedal Pokémon that resemble young pandas. Their head and short, puffy tail are white. There are tufts of fur on top of their head and on their cheeks. There are black circles around their eyes, and the ears are also black. The upper body and hind feet are black, while the lower body is a dark gray. They have dark brown eyes with no visible irises. There are small, dark brown circular pads on the soles of their three-toed feet. These Pokémon carry a small, green leaf in their mouth.

Trivia
- Pancham is the only Pokémon so far that requires a Pokémon of a specific type, in this case Dark-type, in the party at a certain level to evolve.
- Pancham can evolve if a non-Dark-type Pokémon evolves into a Dark-type Pokémon, but only if it is in a party position before Pancham. The Pokémon must be Dark-type outside of battles, so Pokémon that are only Dark-type while Mega Evolved or due to a move or Ability cannot cause Pancham to evolve.
- Pancham shares the same species name with Monferno. They are both known as the Playful Pokémon.
- Pancham was originally Naughthy Pokemon.
Origin
Pancham is based on a giant panda cub. Its Shiny coloration could be a reference to the Qinling panda, whose coloring tends to be more brown than black.
Name origin
Pancham may be a combination of panda, punch and champion.
Yancham may come from やんちゃ yancha (naughty) and champion.
