Tranquill is a bird-like Pokémon that is light gray, gray, and black in color; interestingly enough, the majority of its coloring is the inverse of its prevolution's coloring. Its beak and eye color is yellow and the pink cere from its prevolution has brightened into a hot pink, enlarged and became a marking above the eyes. It has a black, crest-like arrangement of two feathers on its head and has also gained a petal-like arrangement of feathers on the back of its neck. It possesses a long rectrice feather that is tipped in black.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities

Habitat
Tranquill live in deep forests, where it is believed that its presence creates a peaceful country without war.
A flock of Tranquill appeared in Purrloin: Sweet or Sneaky?. They were angry at Purrloin for stealing their berries, until he pleaded for forgiveness so that they would save Ash, Iris, Meowth, the other Pokémon, and his Trainer, Misha, from a sand pit.
Tranquill, the Wild Pigeon Pokémon, and the evolved form of Pidove. It is believed that a peaceful place without conflict exists deep in the forest where Tranquill live.
Tranquill, the Wild Pigeon Pokémon, and the evolved form of Pidove. Tranquill is always able to return to its Trainer no matter how far the distance between them.
Judging from both its Black and White Pokédex entries, Tranquill may be based on a dove, often used as a symbol of peace, and possibly a homing pigeon, a domestic pigeon bred to find its way home over extremely long distances. Its design is similar to that of the Greater Roadrunner or Secretarybird.
Name origin
Tranquill is a combination of tranquil (calm or unstressed) and quill (a feather from the tail of a bird). It also involves quail.
Hatoboh may be a combination of 鳩 hato (pigeon) and 逃亡 tōbō (escape) or 尨 'bō' (shaggy hair). Additionally, in some works of Kenji Miyazawa, a fictional ideal world 「イーハトーヴォ」 Ihatov often appears. The Pokédex entry in Pokémon White says, "Many people believe that, deep in the forest where Tranquill live, there is a peaceful place where there is no war," which might be implying Kenji's utopia.
