Trivia
- Requiring 38 levels to evolve from Axew and just 10 more to evolve into Haxorus, Fraxure has the distinction of having the lowest relative second-stage evolution requirement, at just 26%.
Origin
Fraxure's tusks are similar in appearance to a Scutosaurid's or possibly Ceratopsid's cheekbone tusks and are also similar to pickaxe blades. Its crest may be based on a Hadrosaurid's (more specifically a Saurolophid's or perhaps a Corytophanid's) or possibly the Plumed basilisk's.
Name origin
Fraxure is a portmanteau of the words fracture (to break something, usually hard organic material, such as bone) and axe. Its Japanese name may come from 斧 ono "axe" and the Latin suffix "don" meaning tooth.
