Dwebble (Japanese: イシズマイ Ishizumai) is a Bug/Rock Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Crustle starting at level 34.
Biology
Physiology
Dwebbles resemble a cross orange hermit crabs and scorpions, with large pincers and dark, oval-shaped eyes supported by eye stalks. It has a hook-like tail that is concealed underneath the sectioned chunk of gray rock it uses as a shell. This tail is possibly used to keep the rock in place or to carve itself a new home should it's old rock get lost.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
It is known that Dwebble first inspects a rock to see if it could be used as a suitable shell. After finding a suitable rock, Dwebble digs a hole in the rock's bottom, to use as a protective shell. Dwebble can make rock easier to carve by producing a liquid from its mouth. When done it appears that it uses its hook-like tail to grapple onto it.
Despite being able to produce this dissolving liquid, it is unable to use the move Acid or any similar moves. It also is unable to use any moves involving it's tail - possibly due to it's tail being unmentioned in the game series.
Behavior
If the rock where it lives breaks, it won't calm down until it can find another rock to replace it.
Habitat
Despite it's crab like appearance, Dwebble can be found living in dry dessert areas such as the dessert resort in unova due to it's rock-based qualities. The fact that Dwebble lives in a dessert, is part bug type and has a tail may suggest that despite much resembling a hermit crab, it is in fact closer related to a scorpion. Dwebble can however be found residing in areas where beach and water are present, such as route 18 in unova. This suggests is still has crab like tendencies and it is more dependant on sand than water.

Trivia
- No other Pokémon has the same egg group combination as Dwebble and its evolution.
- Dwebble was leaked internationally in the opening for Pokémon: Black & White.
Origin
Dwebble is based on a hermit crab, with a shell composed of rock rather than an exoskeleton.
Name origin
Dwebble seems to be a combination of dwell and pebble. Ishizumai may be a combination of 石 ishi (stone) and 住まい sumai (dwelling, house), referring to its habitat.
