Pikipek is an avian {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} with black plumage. Its gray beak is long with a pointed, black tip, and it has large blue eyes. There is a white, mask-like marking on its face. This marking extends down its neck before ending in a tuft of feathers on its chest. A large crest sweeps upward from the back of its head with a red stripe along the top that ends at its beak. The undersides of Pikipek's wings are white, and it has thin gray legs and feet. It has a flat tail. | Pikipek is an avian {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} with black plumage. Despite its slender appearance, Pikipek has powerful neck muscles and is able to strike 16 times per second with its beak. This allows it to not only drill through wood, but shatter stone as well. The holes it drills in trees are used for nesting, storing food, and collecting small, glittering objects. The noise of this Pokémon pecking can be used to communicate with others. This Pokémon feeds on Berries and is able to attack opponents by zipping the leftover seeds at them. Pikipek (Japanese: ツツケラ Tsutsukera) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation VII.
It evolves into Trumbeak starting at level 14, which evolves into Toucannon starting at level 28.
Biology
Pikipek is an avian Pokémon with black plumage.
Despite its slender appearance, Pikipek has powerful neck muscles and is able to strike 16 times per second with its beak. Pikipek does not feel pain when using its neck muscles. These shots have enough force to embed the seeds in trees.[1] Talonflame is a natural predator of Pikipek, while Pikipek itself preys on Metapod. It generally lives in humid forests.
Evolution
Pikipek evolves into Trumbeak, which evolves into Toucannon.

Trivia
- Pikipek was the first Generation VII Pokémon to be officially shown besides Magearna; this happened during the February 2016 Pokémon Direct. At the time, it was unnamed and appeared as a wireframe model.
- Pikipek, Taillow, and Starly are tied with:
- Spearow, Hoothoot, Ledyba, and Wingull for the lowest base Defense stat of all Flying-type Pokémon.
- Zubat and Combee for the lowest base Special Attack stat of all Flying-type Pokémon.
- Wingull and Pidove for the lowest base Special Defense stat of all Flying-type Pokémon.
- Pikipek and its evolved form, Trumbeak, are the only Pokémon to have Pickup as their Hidden Ability.
Origin
Pikipek seems to be based on a pileated woodpecker. It may also be partially based on a baby toco toucan, judging by its evolution into Trumbeak and Toucannon.
Name origin
Pikipek may be a combination of picus (Latin for woodpecker), pick, and peck.
Tsutsukera may be a combination of 突き tsutsuki (pecking) and 啄木鳥 keratsutsuki (woodpecker).
