Wicke (Japanese: ビッケ Wicke) is the assistant branch chief of the Aether Foundation's Aether Paradise.

In the games

Wicke appears in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Her caring personality makes her popular among the Foundation's staff.

During the player's first visit to Aether Paradise, she takes the player and Hau on a tour of the facility. Before they leave, she gives Hau some malasadas and TM29 (Psychic) to the player.

Wicke is revealed to be one of the Foundation's employees who disagreed with Lusamine and her obsession with the Ultra Beasts, and also the one who both Gladion and Lillie confided in before they ran away with a specimen of Type: Null and Cosmog, respectively. She is the one who subsequently refers Lillie to go to Professor Burnet to talk about Cosmog. To atone for the Foundation's contribution to the Ultra Beast crisis, she assists the International Police in their efforts to subdue or capture the creatures. She provides the player with Beast Balls to capture the wild Ultra Beasts with, and freely gives the player information on the Ultra Beasts that the player captures.

Although Faba is demoted from his position as Branch Chief after the events of the games, it is not known if Wicke was promoted to his position.

Wicke in the anime

Wicke was revealed to be a founding member of the Aether Foundation in The Secret Princess, alongside Faba, and married couple Lusamine and Mohn. Following Mohn's disappearance during an Ultra Wormhole experiment, Wicke has remained by Lusamine's side to support her through her grief.

Wicke debuted in A Dream Encounter!. She, along with Lusamine, Professor Burnet, and Faba, investigated the Altar of the Sunne due to Ultra Aura being detected from that location, but they were unable to find anything there. She later accompanied Lusamine and Professor Burnet to Professor Kukui's house on Melemele Island, where she met Ash and Nebby.

In Deceiving Appearances!, she guided Ash and his classmates through Aether Paradise during their visit to the facility. Wicke appeared again in Faba's Revenge!, in which she informed Lusamine and Professor Burnet about Faba's still unknown whereabouts. She was later seen escorting Gladion to his mother's office. In Family Determination!, she arrived at the Aether Paradise labs, where she witnessed Lusamine's abduction.

Following Lusamine's rescue, Wicke attended the wedding of Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet in The Professors' New Adventure!. Later, she, alongside Lusamine and Faba, invited Ash and his classmates to join the Ultra Guardians, a task force dedicated to capturing Ultra Beasts, which they accepted. Starting in A Mission of Ultra Urgency!, Wicke, along with Lusamine and Professor Burnet, would brief Ash and his classmates whenever they embark on a mission as Ultra Guardians. She also accompanies them when the caught Ultra Beast gets released back into Ultra Space.

Wicke briefly reappeared in The Shape of Love to Come!. She was seen with Lusamine and Faba, when Ash, Professor Burnet, and Professor Kukui contacted them to inform them about Poipole's habit of putting its feelings into its drawings, which she described as romantic.

In Filling the Light with Darkness!, mysterious dark clouds appeared over Alola, leaving all of the adults tired and without motivation. After doing some research, Wicke, Lusamine, Faba, and Professor Burnet found out that the cause of the incident was a small Ultra Wormhole that was slowly draining Alola's Ultra Aura. Later, at the Altar of the Sunne, she and the others informed the Ultra Guardians of their findings and had them use their Z-Moves to fuel a machine that could disperse the clouds to find out the Ultra Wormhole's exact location. In the next episode, Wicke and the others witnessed Lunala and Necrozma emerging from the Ultra Wormhole. She was later seen arriving at Melemele Island, along with Lusamine, Burnet, and Faba, after Necrozma had fused with Nebby and had left. She and the others then oversaw Lunala recover in the Ultra Guardians base.

Later, after the Ultra Guardians left for Ultra Space with a fully recovered Lunala, Wicke stayed behind at the Ultra Guardians base with Lusamine and Burnet. They tried to find out a way to communicate with the task force after their connection got lost. She finally managed to regain contact with the Ultra Guardians in the next episode, allowing Burnet to inform them of her findings. Wicke then joined the rest of Alola in sharing their light with Necrozma so it could return to its true form. After Necrozma returned to its Ultra form, Wicke watched as the Ultra Guardians, Nebby, and Lunala returned to Alola, alongside Lusamine, Burnet, Faba, and Kukui.

In Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!, Wicke was revealed to be close to a Stufful, which went missing at Aether Paradise. She revealed that she found it trapped under a fallen tree and brought it to Aether Paradise to recover. The group eventually found Stufful clinging onto Jessie's hair and watched as Bewear grabbed them. Wicke then realized that Bewear was Stufful's mother and happily watched their reunion before Bewear took Team Rocket and Stufful back to her den.

During the Manalo Conference, Wicke watched the battles, alongside Lusamine, Professor Burnet, and later Faba. When three Guzzlord arrived through Ultra Wormholes and began wreaking havoc at Manalo Stadium, Wicke helped monitor the situation while Ash, his classmates, Gladion, Hau, Kukui, and the island kahunas teamed up to defeat the Junkivore Pokémon and send them back to Ultra Space. Following the incident, she watched the exhibition match between Ash and Professor Kukui.

In Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!, Wicke said goodbye to Lusamine and her children, taking one last group photo with them before they left on their journey to find Mohn. She was later seen working at Aether Paradise, alongside Faba and Rotom.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

In JN112, Wicke greeted Lusamine and her family on their return to Alola and was reunited with Mohn. The next day, she and Faba acted as commentators during the Battle Royal match between Professor Kukui, Ash, Gladion, and Kiawe.

Character

Wicke is overly cheery and empathetic. While she is often busy managing the Aether Foundation's schedules and standards, Wicke truly enjoys her line of work. Don't Ignore the Small Stufful! showcased her interests in Pokémon conservation, where she was seen playing with some of Aether Paradise's resident Pokémon. She was later drawn to tears when a Stufful she had rescued reunited with its mother, Bewear.

She is loyal and has been immensely supportive of her boss Lusamine over the years. Wicke even attended the Manalo Conference to cheer for Lusamine's children, Lillie and Gladion, as they competed. However, Wicke can be tough. She is well aware of Faba's manipulative tendencies, and often pulls him into line for not following orders.

In Deceiving Appearances!, five Ditto were shown inside a room that allowed them to remain in their original forms and not transform into other Pokémon. Ash and his classmates (except for Lillie) each held one of them so that Professor Burnet could give them their vaccinations. One of the Ditto eventually escaped during the process and roamed around Aether Paradise's conservation area, using Transform to trick its pursuers. This Ditto was eventually caught when Ash dove onto it while it was posing as Lillie's Alolan Vulpix, Snowy. It was then taken back to the room.

In Don't Ignore the Small Stufful!, Wicke was shown happily tending to the Ditto in the same room during Ash and Lillie's trip to Aether Paradise.

The Ditto's only move is Transform*.

Wicke in Pokémon Adventures

Wicke debuted in Shipwreck and "Oh, What Sharp Teeth You Have, Bruxish!". She and Faba met with Moon, Professor Kukui, and Professor Burnet. Wicke explained that the three were rescued by the Aether Foundation after being attacked by a wild Bruxish and left lost at sea. Faba revealed that they were taken to Aether Paradise and offered to give them a tour of the place.

Six months later, Faba had managed to take control over the Aether Foundation. When Lusamine went missing, Wicke and an Aether Foundation Employee managed to locate her on Poni Island playing with a group of Ultra Beasts. Their attempts to dock on the island were thwarted by a Celesteela, forcing them to return to the Aether House on Ula'ula Island and meet up with Gladion and Lillie. When Gladion suggested going to get Lusamine, Wicke refused due to the boy's injuries. Wicke decided the best option was for her and the Employee to return to Aether Paradise and gather information.

Later, Wicke and the Employee returned to Poni, only to find Lusamine and the Ultra Beasts gone. After returning to shore, Wicke encountered Mina and an injured Guzma. Mina had come to Poni to meet with the other Trial Captains, but mistakenly went to the wrong location. Wicke had Mina taken to Exeggutor Island to join the other captains while Guzma was taken to a medical ward to recuperate.

Wicke was introduced as a Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sun & Moon Series (the Japanese SM Era). It was first released in the Japanese Darkness that Consumes Light expansion before debuting in English in the Burning Shadows expansion, with an illustration based on the Ken Sugimori artwork of the character, with the background artwork by take. It was also released as a Full Art card in Darkness that Consumes Light and Burning Shadows, with an illustration by Naoki Saito. Wicke makes each player count the cards in their hand, shuffles those cards into their deck, then draws that many cards.
