Michele Knotz

Biography

Knotz was born sometime on October 27 in New Jersey and became a voice actress as an adult. She was the winner of the 2003 Anime Idol voice acting contest held at the now-defunct Big Apple Anime Fest convention. The first runner-up, Hilary Thomas, went on to provide voices for the TPCi dub before they became a producer for the show.

Knotz joined Pokémon the Series during the Pokémon USA recasting controversy. She debuted in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon, where she played the roles of May, Jessie, Misty, and Nurse Joy. She has since voiced several characters and Pokémon, but Jessie and May remain her most prominent roles. Notable Pokémon she voices include May's Beautifly and Squirtle in Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire, Dawn's Piplup in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, Ash's Snivy and Jessie's Woobat in Pokémon the Series: Black & White, and the recurring Jigglypuff starting in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon.

Aside from voice acting, Knotz does script adaptation for various dubs of foreign media. For the Pokémon franchise, she handled script adaptation for episodes 5-8 of Pokémon Concierge and the POKÉTOON episode Another Day with Gardevoir.
