Anyone wanna do the Ash, Dawn, and Brock voices still?

TCG Trainer Card Infobox

Hi there - once again I've been thinking about something to do with TCG pages, this time Trainer cards, and I think the Trainer infobox needs a refit. Your input would be greatly appreciated on this matter. Cheers, Cipher 20:29, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Hey, can I start a project on the Pokémon manga?--CoolPikachu! 23:02, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

...we don't have a project on the manga yet?! No wonder why PS barely gets updates! If you know what to do, go for it... TTEchidna 23:08, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok Thank You.--CoolPikachu! 23:09, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Prototype names

Is there a list of these prototype Pokémon names? I'm curious to know what they all are without having to search through every Pokémon article. Also, is this in regards to only Generation I Pokémon? ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 19:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I know there's some prototype names for Gen II, but most definitely for Gen I. Gen III and IV, possibly, but their development was far more under wraps...
Maybe we could ask Doug Dinsdale himself? TTEchidna 22:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Form names

I recently purchaced the Pokémon Pokédex: Official Pocket Version guide and it lists the form names for the Pokémon with the differences in their forms. For Cherrim the forms are "Overcast form" and "Sunshine form" and Castform has listed: "Normal form", "Sun form", "Rain form" and "Hail form". They use no "e" at the end of form, however Deoxys' Formes do have an "e". I went ahead and changed Cherrim, but wanted to know what you thought about Castform since you had said the names that are currently listed came from the TCG. Other Pokémon like Shellos/Gastrodon and Burmy/Wormadam are the same as we have. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 16:10, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Copyright date on the book? If it's later than 2005, it supersedes EX Delta Species, the last set released that has Castform's four forms. I'd assume that, having Gen IV Pokémon in it, it's at least an '07 copyright. The problem lies with Legends Awakened, which comes in August... I'd imagine that the game ought to supersede the TCG by a long shot, though... Aren't Deoxys's forms named without the e on their cards? TTEchidna 22:30, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Not sure about the Deoxys cards, but the book says published in Japan in December, 2006. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 00:12, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

I saw. And really, while I'm at it, why don't I flaunt my adminship and make the Misty page... TTEchidna 23:48, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
You should ^_^ CoolPikachu! 23:48, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
There's been rumblings of pages like this being disallowed in the future. I hope not, though. I have some GSDS predictions to upload once the ban's lifted, and other people's essays are always fun to read, too. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:54, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, if they are, I do intend to make a mainspace page without the snide comments detailing the parties at any given point... TTEchidna 00:01, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
I actually prefer the snide comments. I also like how you used the word "Oak" as a verb. I haven't read material this funny in a long time. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 01:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Been a verb in this fandom for longer than I've been online. TTEchidna 01:44, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Vandalised Munchlax and then removed it. Don't know whether or not he should be blocked, but he's probably worth keeping an eye on. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:59, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Hm. If he does it again, definitely. Sigh. He uses the LTs, but he seems not to care about freaking punctuation and grammar. TTEchidna 08:09, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

In the trivia section of the page it says that Ash bites "Team Rocket's Tail" not Meowth's Tail. I would fix it but I don't want to screw it up. User:Rucario64

Also in EP032 the same problem appears saying Team Rocet instead of Meowth User:Rucario64
Someone used the TRM template instead of the MTR one. TTEchidna 22:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I'd just like to ask you why can you edit you user page? I know you have edited it because I see Ash's Gliscor, which is only debutted just yesterday. I am quite a new user and I don't know why I can't edit my user page. It says I don't have any permission. Anyway, Thanks a lot for answering. Please ignore my poor English.Dong 14:29, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

He can edit his because he is administration. They are the only ones who are allowed. MoldyOrange 14:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Only admins can edit user space right now. The general public doesn't have permission until something can be worked out to keep servers from crashing and people only joining Bulbapedia just to create user pages. Plus, admins only edit them on an "as needed" basis. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:37, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you , I finally get it. Thanks a lot.Dong 14:42, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Yep. But regular users will be able to edit their userpages again very soon. TTEchidna 22:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

3 Things

1. Great Job w/ Misty's Team page

2. Has CavalierShipping been updated w/ possible DP085 hints?

3. I believe Movie 11's Nurse Joy is the first to wear glasses!

Well... Umm... I just would like to know something. Why can't I edit my own user page? I'm justing asking you because I couldn't think of someone else that could answer this. --Netto-kun Talk 23:05, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Jeez, man, where've you been the past three months? Userpages cannot be edited by users because of the abuse of them that occurred until we took the ability away in March. Since we've got a new server now, that's more powerful, we should be giving them back... soon. TTEchidna 23:07, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Generation III moveset pages

I don't really know how the coding for those works, so I can't figure out how to get the Generation III moveset pages for Mudkip and its evolutions out of the uncategorized pages. Is there a way to get them out before someone starts claiming they licked (or should I say lieked) the Mudkip Generation III moveset page? Thanks.

You started off the levelup moveset with Template:movelisttm, which doesn't autocategorize the page. TTEchidna 20:07, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Deoxys (movie)

Should there be an article with the name, "Deoxys (movie)"? I guess it'll be a bit confusing because there are two Deoxys in the movie, so maybe you can do "Deoxys (movie; purple crystal)" and "Deoxys (movie; green crystal)"? Or maybe you could merge them together and just do "Deoxys (movie) and write about both of them... I would make the article myself, but I don't know how I should do it. - spontaneousCombusken 23:53, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Beats me, too, I never saw DD. I'd say one article's enough for the two, though. TTEchidna 00:13, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I made the article, but I didn't feel like writing everything. So for now, we have a very very short article. - spontaneousCombusken 02:53, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

hey should the manga stubs be replaced with the project manga notice?--CoolPikachu! 02:50, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

When they're not a stub. TTEchidna 02:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
So if it says mangastub I can't replace it but if it doesn't say it then I can put Project Manga notice?--CoolPikachu! 06:24, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
No. If the article itself is a full-fledged article, such as the article on Red or something, then it can get the manga notice. If it's still missing some info, leave the stub template. TTEchidna 06:27, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Ohh ok thank you and night.--CoolPikachu! 06:31, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Voices (2)

Can I join the cast you're talking about? I always felt like becaming a voice actor. Netto-kun Talk 17:37, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

How good of an Ash, Brock, or even, maybe, James, voice can you do? TTEchidna 21:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

You know how some Pokémon had abilities in Generation III, but gained a Generation IV ability? For example, Pinsir had Intimidate and Hyper Cutter. In Gen IV it gained Mold reaker and lost one of the others. For Pokémon witgh similar situations, shouldn't it be mentioned on the pages of the Pokémon and ability?--KukiTalk 21:36, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't remember Pinsir having Intimidate... TTEchidna 21:38, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

My Mistake, but... there had to be many Pokémon that suffered what I desribed, so should we mention abilities Pokémon lost?--KukiTalk 21:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

But no one lost an ability. They only gained them. TTEchidna 21:57, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry then, it just seemed like they did Sorry for any inconvenience--KukiTalk 21:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Nope, none did. If they gained them, they didn't change upon Pal Parking anyway. They'd have to evolve. TTEchidna 22:04, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Egg moves

While it's technically not hurting anything, isn't it a little misleading to have "moves learned through breeding" sections on the articles of Pokémon that do not hatch from eggs? I think these sections should only be found on the pages of the lowest form of a Pokémon family. With the exception of the Pokémon that had gained new prevos but can also hatch from eggs themselves. Just a thought. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 18:14, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, then it'd be a pain in the ass to see what Charizard could have. You'd have to cross over two pages to plan out its moveset if you wanted to use it competitively. TTEchidna 01:13, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
You're right. That's why I wasn't really for abolishing it. I just assumed that most people would look at Charmander first when planning a Charizard. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 01:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
May be the case for a Raichu or something, since those don't learn any moves after evolving, but ideally the Pokémon's movesets should list what THEY AS A SPECIES learn at every level, with no "previous" bullcrap. Remember, they've had it so you could get level 22 Electabuzz (which don't evolve from Elekid until 30) and level 8 Pidgeotto (when they don't evolve from Pidgey until 18). Start should be the lowest level. TTEchidna 01:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay. I always thought it weird that they would list low-level moves for Pokémon that could never be caught at those levels. Legendaries especially. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 02:09, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, know how you couldn't get Giratina until level 70 in DP? And in Platinum, what can you find it at? 47. Wouldn't it suck if you had to wait more than 20 levels to learn even one move? TTEchidna 02:11, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Ah... I forgot about that. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 02:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Nevar forget. TTEchidna 02:41, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes sir... ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Intense Fight name

We have an issue: there's a name conflict going on for Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky which SP252 informed me of earlier today. Apparently, Sunain discussed the name change with Zhen Lin and Tsskiller, who I'm not sure have any affiliation with the TCG section. Regardless, read the argument here. I think I'm gonna need your and SP252's help with this, 'cos I can't see where this guy's coming from, yet he's adamant he's right. Cipher 18:41, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Remember me?

Hey TTEchidna! Remember me, Theryguy512? I was just checking in. So how's the site going? I see you guys hit the 10,000 page mark (congrats!). Have u had any major vandalism attacks lately? I see that people still can't edit their Userpages (any end in sight for that? lol). Also, do you know if Tina and people from 'the good ol times' are still around? If I have nothing else to do over the summer, I may come back to Bulba. Is that okay?. Well, I better be on my way. I'll check in again soon. C ya. Theryguy512 01:15, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay, you did miss a bunch! We are no longer allowed to template our signature or have images in it, so you are going to have to put the coding into the Nickname field of your preferences. Tina is gone from bulbapedia, but not the forums if you would still like to talk to her! Eight of the users (Such as Magnedeth and Porygon-Z and myself) have made a gym league (found here: [1]). Userspace is banned...still. And, in your absence, I have taken leadership of some of your pages, such as Team Rocket's Mechas and your anime dex project. So, that is most of what happened; hopefully you will stay for a while! MoldyOrange 01:27, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, im new to Bulbapedia but not to wikis in general. One question: how do I start my own User page?

You don't. There's a ban in effect on it now, so you'll have to wait. TTEchidna 08:08, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
What?! no offence but thats silly. Whats the reason for this? And I see the same goes for signatures :P.
Because too many people were editing their userpages instead of actually contributing, which is what Bulbapedia is for. You can edit your signature. Just go to 'My Preferences'. --ケンジガール 08:26, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Need help

I created a new category , and for some reason the characters that were put in this category are not showing up on the page. I tried to figure out but nothing seems to work.

Sorry for bothering you. --ケンジガール 08:20, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind. I found a solution to the problem. --ケンジガール 08:27, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Here's my theory... it usually takes a moment or two for pages to appear in a category when you're adding it to a bunch of them at once by way of a template. I did that several times when creating cats like moves that cannot miss or moves with a high critical-hit ratio. But because you created the template, added it to a bunch of pages, and then put the correct cat on the template, it's taking longer than normal to add them all. The pages have the category on them already, they're just not appearing on the category page. If you want to keep manually adding them, go ahead, but I think that, in time, it'll get itself sorted out. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:29, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it takes a while for templates to update across all pages, especially when their usage goes above 30 or so. So yeah. TTEchidna 08:39, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Lucario in Super Smash Bros. Brawl...

Hey I made Lucario (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)|this page.

  • Please post feedback and how it can be improved (Im not very good with coding)
  • Is there a stub notice (if so how do i put it on?)
  • Do you like my new signature? (Mr.Lucario)
  • can i have a userpage for my first contribution please?

Thanks Mr.Lucario 11:40, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry to ruin your fun here, but a page on the Lucario in Brawl is unneccessary, as it is already covered in the Lucario article.
Yes, there is a stub notice. Just use stub.

No, you can't, as you've already contributed elsewhere, and unless you plan to wait a long time for a userpage, you'll have to edit elsewhere. Glinn Mgraw 14:15, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Well-handled, Glinn. TTEchidna 04:19, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
*sigh* Mr.Lucario 17:10, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I notice that you only put Special Abilities as a level 3 heading. I don't actually agree with this, as I view Special Abilities as part of a Pokémon's physiology. Going on that, I would like to ask which actually makes more sense. Glinn Mgraw 11:28, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I honestly don't know. I see special abilities more on level with behavior and habitat than with gender differences... TTEchidna 19:49, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
How though? Wouldn't a special ability be part and parcel of their physiology? Say a Pokémon can shoot lightning from its tail. Wouldn't that be part of the Physiology of that Pokémon? Glinn Mgraw 11:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Pokémon Type Categories

I'm certain a bug in some complex code has emptied these categories. You're the only one I know of that could possibly hack that code and fix that bug. Additionally, a user called AnubisOracle thought the solution to the problem was to replace all content on one of these category pages with a list to serve as a substitute, de-categorizing Category:Bug-type Pokémon (one of the affected categories) in the process. Can this problem be fixed, or are we going to have to re-add them manually? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 15:52, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Fixed it. I forgot that the subtemplates of the Pokémon infobox categorized as well. They should all be recategorized automatically at the end of the day. TTEchidna 19:58, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

PMD2 Anime

Hey the Special has aired in the Netherlands should that be trivia(cause there is no sign of the US showing it)--CoolPikachu! 05:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Dubbed?! Well that's odd... Usually the rest of the world mooches off of our dub. TTEchidna 05:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Yea I know. lol--CoolPikachu! 05:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Should that be added?--CoolPikachu! 06:29, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
If you're sure it's the PMD2 special and not the PMD1 one... TTEchidna 06:32, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes.--CoolPikachu! 06:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
PMD1 never aired here, but I think CP is right. MathijsP 06:49, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh Ok lol sorry--CoolPikachu! 07:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin is airing saturday

And there will possible an generation V Pokémon appear in it. What do we have to do then? MathijsP 06:55, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Just wait till movie airs I guess TTE is either in bed or busy with something else--CoolPikachu! 07:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Busy with something else. Bed later. Like, two hours later. Making something for the weakness/resistance template. And if there's a new Pokémon in it, well, follow the freaking directions on my page! TTEchidna 07:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Spanish Wiki

There's a user(User:Anthony) who says there's a Spanish Wiki(Bulbapedia) called Raltsapedia and is wondering with it should belong to the Encyclopaediae Pokémonis‎.--CoolPikachu! 08:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

A Spanish one, huh? Well, I've checked it out, and it does need to do a bit of growth. Get every Spanish-speaking Pokémon fan you can find and improve it, man. TTEchidna 18:24, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok--CoolPikachu! 20:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
But what do we have to do to make part of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis??--CoolPikachu! 09:38, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Make it bigger. Make it better. Make it like the other five members and Bulbapedia are now. TTEchidna 15:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay It'll be lots of work but ok--CoolPikachu! 21:11, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
One last question:How pages does there have to be?--CoolPikachu! 01:18, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... At least 500, I'll tell you that. Make the 493 Pokémon or others, whatever. As long as it gets a good amount of articles and contributors, certainly. Wouldn't hurt for Anthony to email Zhen or Archaic, either. TTEchidna 04:20, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok Thank You I'll tell him that--CoolPikachu! 05:49, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Catchtime Template

Could you please add the code in Template talk:Catchtime to Template:Catchtime. It would be extremely helpful to the Routes project and the template is protected. Admachina 19:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Hm... I guess. TTEchidna 19:53, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Rules Clarification

I was hoping you could clarify a few things I had questions about:

  1. What is the intent of the User_talk pages?
  2. Is it appropriate to list one's credentials, prior research, and methods of contact in one's User_talk page?
  3. Is one allowed to remove the standard welcome text from one's own User_talk page?

I made changes to my own User_talk page a few days earlier, but was quickly reverted. Requests for clarification regarding what rule I seem to have (egregiously) broken have gone unanswered, so I'm asking you because my research indicated that I ought to ask an admin. The relevant edit history is here and the ensuing requests for clarification are here. Thank you for your time. -Tsanth 23:35, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not the one you want to clarify but I can say that the intent of User talk pages is not to be used as a sort of chat page but to be used as a way of discussing subjects about the website and/or it's contents. And if truly one does not wish to have the welcome template on their discussion page, it may be removed.~Pokemaniac102 23:41, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
  1. Communication with the user.
  2. That's sort of touchy, as there are rules against User page content on user talk pages. Things like contacts and credentials are, of course, not as bad as usertags or team pages, but considering I wasn't allowed to make a project page on a talk page, I'd err on the side of caution and wait for the userpage ban to be lifted before listing your credentials.
  3. No. Removal of any comments is against the rules, including the welcome message.
Does this answer everything? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:44, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Removal of the welcome might cause someone to dump one on there again. So unless you have an archive, there should be a welcome. Check mine, I even got a welcome! TTEchidna 23:45, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Although it'd be best and beneficial to keep the welcome, you may remove it~Pokemaniac102 23:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thank you, everyone, for your responses. From the perspective of one who's only recently begun editing in earnest, it would be nice to see this and other points of etiquette/by-laws/rules set in stone on a rules page somewhere. Even links to conversations which have established precedent would be welcome (and in fact, might be more useful!). It is more than a little alarming to be shouted-at for doing something as mundane as removing (what appears to be) boilerplate. I'll await the lifting of the userspace ban to add my other research pointers and credentials, and consider other places to put the welcome text where it'll be out of the way, yet accessible. Thanks again, everyone! -Tsanth 23:56, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
And you're welcome, though you should not have been shouted at for doing something like that. Though many other users attempted to do the same, which has constantly cause irritation to certain users. That is the likely reason that you were chastised.~Pokemaniac102 00:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

This user is being really annoying. He/She keeps starting new talk page articles either to ask questions or mentioning a piece of trivia. Plus he/she never signs their comments. I don't know if you could talk to them or something but that would be nice. --ケンジガール 01:33, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

And now she just created a sockpuppet. Helpe2. Doing the same crap. --ケンジガール 01:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Yup I already told him that on Aim~Pokemaniac102 01:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Since you're an administrator, I decided to notify you (since I can get to your talk page from mine) that I think that it's unfair that we can't even make a page about a character we made up because it apparently be in the user namespace. I mean, probably HALF of us users made a good quantity of contributions, and pages about made-up characters aren't userpages. Please reply to me on my talk page. Palkiajosh 20:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

If we were to permit people to post their made-up characters in the main namespace, then the main namespace would be flooded with fanwanked crap that would make Bulbapedia a big mess. The User namespace is the only namespace where such characters belong. Since that's locked down, you're just going to have to wait until the lockdown ends. --Shiningpikablu252 20:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Hah, you think at 31 edits since you came last month, that warrents you to have a Userpage...rofl. I needed a good laugh!! So, thank you. MoldyOrange 23:36, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Only 31? Dude, come back once you hit 10,000. TTEchidna 01:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

How To?

I think it's a sockpuppet of Lovely, the user you just blocked. And she's doing the same stuff again. --ケンジガール 01:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

He/She also is familliar. You may have heard this, but anyhow...there was a vandal under the username "Acidlava". This guy could be him or another old vandal...just look at the message he left on his own talk page...Shiny Pachirisu :) 02:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't read too far into it. They have very different MOs, and Bulbapedia attracts vandals the way a... a wiki atrracts... vandals. Yeah.
I'd also like to say that I was against the block on anon edits at first, but by now, it's made my BP experience 400% better than it would have been. I wouldn't have left Wikitroid if it were run this well. Besides, given how much effort it actually takes to create an account, it's about as much of a stumbling block as a rabbit is to a tank. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I think SilliestHat is also this same vandal...Shiny Pachirisu :) 02:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
He left, I'll get someone else. MoldyOrange 02:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Shiny Pachirisu :) 02:29, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Hey, do we have an admin on at all times? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Sadly, no. MoldyOrange 02:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Lock down Bulbapedia PLEASE

This is a big SOS mail!

We're getting a huge vandal attack. I was doing fine taking care of it myself, but now it looks like entire articles are being compromised and being turned into unrecoverable self-redirects. I don't think there's anything I can do. I'm sending this to all the admins I know so that this can be rectified quickly.

I would recommend locking the place down and fixing everything. Toastypk 06:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the pages are completely recoverable. It's pretty...strange.
  1. Go to one of those pages.
  2. Go to the previous diff.
  3. Click the redirect link and presto!

Meanwhile, can we like...immediately block Capulet's IP? I swear, people getting all political and asinine over registering to edit a Pokémon wiki.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 06:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Blocking it would do wonders. At least we must start with that.

Also your method of reverting seems to work, but I can't move the pages back to their originals. "A page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name." Toastypk 06:30, 17 July 2008 (UTC) EDIT: Actually that method is only temporary looking and going to Weather Trio still goes to the bugged page. Toastypk 06:32, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, it proves the old page is retrievable at the very least; you can just press edit then copy and paste it to the current redirect page (worked on White City). I doubt it preserves history, but I also doubt we have to deal with accountability like Wikipedia.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 06:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Awesome, it's working! But damnit, it's a shame to lose all that history. Not to mention that's going to be a lot of crap on my recent contributions... Toastypk 06:43, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

He's already undoing what you just did. Face it. We have to wait. --ケンジガール 06:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
What did I say about contacting me over my talk page, dammit. TTEchidna 06:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't know, I never read anything about that. I'm just trying to do what I can though. Toastypk 06:53, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Just undo all the fucking moves. I'm sick of this asshole. TTEchidna 06:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I'll keep working on it. In the meantime though, can you prevent new accounts from being created at all? He's just making more and more. Toastypk 06:57, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Don't you need to delete pages in order to fix this? --ケンジガール 06:58, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

You aren't vandalizing now, I meant don't vandalize like you did last week. MoldyOrange 14:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

lol yea i was pretty pissed Ritchie

How to bring the pages back

  • 1 Go to the history.
  • 2 Clck "compare selected versions"
  • 3 Click "previous diff" until you reach a redirect to an existing page.
  • 4 Click the redirect
  • 5 Click "edit this page"
  • 6 Copy everything.
  • 7 Go back to the most recent revision of the page.
  • 8 Click "edit this page"
  • 9 Paste everything.
  • 10 Save the page.

MathijsP 09:33, 17 July 2008 (UTC) I have been doing that, but then Zhen said in my talk page, "Please do not copy and paste article text to move pages." I'm guessing there is another way I have to do this.. Toastypk 16:36, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

There is. Undoing the moves, reverting his edits. TTEchidna 18:54, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

How do you make those different pages (trade, archives, etc.) on your talk page? tc26 14:34, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

You don't. You can when the userspace returns. TTEchidna 00:32, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
So those archives above are in that page? tc26 00:33, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Pokémon LV.X

...As they're named on Bulbapedia. I've been doing a bit of research on Pokémon LV.X on the official TCG website and I've found that we're naming their card pages incorrectly. Darkrai LV.X isn't called Darkrai LV.X: it's called Darkrai. The card lists on the site prove the point. Think about it: if that were actually the case, you'd have Charizard LV.67, Darkrai LV.50, and so on, as the actual card name. It isn't - it's just Charizard and Darkrai. Plus, when Darkrai levels up, the Pokémon's name is still Darkrai. It doesn't grow a LV.X. I know this to be the case now and that this is the official terminology, so ideally I'd like to go around changing this, but I'm concerned that there'll be some arguments from other members, as well as members reverting the moves because they don't know of this. I was just wondering if this should be done and if there was a "best way" to do it? Cheers, Cipher 16:51, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

The articles are named as such to avoid confusion with a regular card. Trust me, if we were to call it Palkia (Great Encounters 106), people might get confused and think it's a regular Palkia card and not the special Lv.X card. --Shiningpikablu252 16:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Alright, that's fair. In that case, can we at least a) refer to it as Palkia in the article rather than Palkia Lv.X, and b) get it changed where necessary (article contents and names) from Lv.X to LV.X? I'd be willing to do both. Cipher 15:33, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
If "LV.X" is how it is in the TCG... I own no Level X cards... but I do have some old cards, like Charizard, and it says "LV.76" and so on... TTEchidna 22:43, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Editing

Ive seen people mention on the forums, some coding admins can put on users to stop them editing the whole talk page and only being able to edit sections.

I am trying to change the table on the top of my talk page but cant as it wont let me go into edit page, even clicking on the edit button on your page I had to click the "add new section" tab instead of being able to do it manually, I was wondering if this was something the admins had done as i used to talk on talk pages too much. About Giratina and Shaymin's page

Shouldn't Giratina and Shaymin's have 2 sprite tables similar to the ones that Deoxys has? Because in Platinum both formes willl be in the game--CoolPikachu! 01:27, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, eh. We'll wait, all right? TTEchidna 01:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay I can wait 1-2 months (LOL)--CoolPikachu! 01:29, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't we also wait on the Platinum sprites, I keep seeing them pop up on the archives and the specific pages. MoldyOrange 01:31, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes. Because Tc26 and TraviSource amd some other are getting the sprites from the previews and editing it....--CoolPikachu! 01:32, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Wait, do you think we should wait, or let them keep doing it. I think we should wait until the game actually is released because based on Giratina's Platinum sprite in the chart and the one in the Platinum screenshot in the trivia right below it, they are completely different; they aren't even facing the same way! MoldyOrange 01:37, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
This shows that hardly anyone here goes to the Japanese sites. The one it the table is more or less the first frame sprite and the one revealed earlier has a high chance of being the second frame sprite since those sprites can't be seen when your Pokémon are already there. tc26 10:14, 25 July 2008 (UTC).
Maybe because it has to do with moving of the sprite thing--CoolPikachu! 01:38, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, as long as it's uploaded to the correct place... it should be fine. I'm against making multiple spritecharts now because of the fact that we don't have their Origin Forme/Sky Forme minisprites animated. TTEchidna 01:40, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
It is going to be hell when this comes much updating and changing for the Platinum info. Hopfully, the game doesn't change the movesets... MoldyOrange 01:42, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Yea.--CoolPikachu! 01:42, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't like this guy's attitude. Better keep an eye on him. He keeps posting on Pokémon talk pages how dumb we are for leaving Pokémon genders unknown because of obvious displays of gender typical behaviors. But anyway, just giving you a warning. --ケンジガール 22:00, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

When is something confirmed?

I've been wondering about this for a while and its "when does something become confirmed on here". For example, the Charizard gender issue, it fell in love with a girl Charizard and i thought that would confirm it as a boy, but apparently not. So does it have to be said by an anime character for it to be confirmed or what? I just want to know so I can become a better user and not make so many mistakes as last time. Thanx for your time. Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010 22:34, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

I honestly have no idea. We still need to discuss confirmation, so I think... I'll take that to the forums. TTEchidna 22:36, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

And the other thing was. For Pikachu's gender, I thought that they created the girl form differences to prove that Ash's is a boy, but then others say that it might be a girl but the anime people just refuse to change its tail? But surely if they have gone and said girl Pikachus have this type of tail and Ash's doesnt then its a boy. Thankyou for your time. Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010 22:40, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

I caught this person make this page considered as going around the User Ban?--CoolPikachu! 06:19, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry, is there a reason that userspace is verboten? I assumed it becomes activated when one is autoconfirmed, and just wanted to get started working on something here. Also, TTEchinda: do you mind if I help clear this backlog: "Category:Generation unlisted moves"? I'm not sure if I'm too new to start clearing maintenance categories, but I'd be glad to help anyway... Gracenotes 06:52, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it's because too many people were editing it and killing the server... But yes, you can clear out that category, just make sure to delete-tag it when there's nothing in it. TTEchidna 07:14, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Mm, all right. Just to tell you, I'll be using a JS script I wrote to assist with the changes, but I'll review each edit manually before it's committed. Thanks for giving me a second chance with the unblocking. I'll try not to screw up too much >_< Cheers, Gracenotes 07:27, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Are we not allowed to create Sandboxes? I have used them before but then asked for them to be deleted once I had finished. Then I discovered the main BP one. Since personal sandboxes are things that would be in the Userspace, we can't have them while the ban is going on, but everyone can use the Main one. MoldyOrange 13:03, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Forgive me but...

You said it yourself you just joined. That's an automatic six months or so, provided you make a normal amount of contribs for a Bulbapedia user. Of course, you just epically failed with the first rule of getting adminship. You never, ever ask. Ever. Also, you made one edit, which really was terrible compared to an edit that follows the all-wondrous manual of style. So I'd say give it about... oh... forever. On a good day. Today is a good day. That's a bit harsh, he's going to have 2 wait forever to be an admin because of one bad edit and the fact he wondered when he could, harsh, also he didn't actually ask he just wondered if there was a time you had to wait before you become one, so loophole. Thankyou for your time. Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010 09:35, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Once this kid learns the #1 rule of being an administrator is to not ask, he'll be better off. Then he may have a chance down the road sometime. Route 202

I'm doing a similar project like the one I told you a long time ago... Can you tell me how to fix this before I actually consider it final? Um... It's this:

Youngster Tristan
    • Winnings:  80
  • 60 Exp.
Lv. 5

Um... All the moves are official, strait from the game (I used my ditto). I think we need something like this somewhere on the page. Rpp 03:18, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Rpp

Well, eh, we don't exactly need to list the moves... They're minor trainers. I'd say follow Route 214's lead. TTEchidna 03:21, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
I see... Can I do a similar project with Pearl? They are more important than a youngster. Or do you want me to do nothing/the same as route 214?
The Pokémon list with moves and items and all? Yeah. Major characters get those. TTEchidna 01:34, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Um... Okay, FYI i'm doing the item list after I do the move list (lv. 67 ditto is hard enough to command with just one badge). Also, how much is too much editing for the userpage? I don't plan on taking advantage of it, so I want to know (also I'm apparently back after disappearing for quite some time). Rpp 21:29, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Rpp

TTEchidna, can you help me with a thing? I simply can't edit my personal page. When I access the page, it's just not permited to me to edit it. Why this is happening? What can I do to resolve this?

Thank you for the attention, User:Lucas22

All user page edits have been banned until further notice. The reason seems to be that too many people were creating accounts simply for the user pages, and users were making too many needless edits in the user space and crashing Bulbapedia's servers. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 03:33, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

But, when this banning thing will be finished? They didn't say a date when we will be able to edit our user pages again?

Nope, we haven't set a date. It's supposed to be soon, but even I have no idea. TTEchidna 23:38, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Now that the you-know-what is lifted, can I create my GSDS predictions page, or has that sort of thing been ruled out? I have it all written up; it'd only take one edit to upload it. The question is, is it acceptable under the current rules? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 01:39, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

At the approval of PAK Man, I've gone around tagging a bunch of Theryguy512's and No.1fan's crap for deletion to make it easier for the admins to find, which I will continue tomorrow. However, I was wondering if you could take care of what I have tagged tonight so I don't go to those same pages again tomorrow by accident. If you don't have time, that's alright too, though. BTW, don't you think it's funny that to not miss tagging a page, I actually have to do their frickin' missions? --ニョロトノ666 23:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Show/Hide boxes

-- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 16:07, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, I know that hideable sections can be done... but I don't think that the coding for this can do so. It can hide templates (which is great for the stater and Smash Bros. ones...) but sections are iffy. We can't hide them by including them in the chart. And I know hidable sections is doable... ED has it.
Though this would be absolutely perfect for spoilers. TTEchidna 18:24, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
I dunno about full sections (you might me able to stick a section header into a table, I think I've done it before). But what I had in mind was more of just dividing up the welcome template into simpler areas. If you notice on the javascript's talk page manual, you can make show/hide headings within the single table, which could be used to divide up the welcome message to different topics. Users who already know how to sign and do basic editing could skip that part easily, and just read the policies section, and so on and so forth. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 11:13, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
As you might've seen with Arceus's page, though, I seem to have found a way to make sections hidable.
And look, here's the section.

Now I just wonder if we could somehow have it so that if shown it displays one thing while if hidden it displays another... There a variable determinant for that? TTEchidna 20:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

TTEchidna 20:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm. I can ask Poke; it's his coding, he's bound to know a few tricks for usage. But I'm going to guess that no, having it "toggle" messages might be out of it's ability. Not unless you figured out some paradox that allowed you to stick a expandable table inside a collapsible table that was still inside the very same expandable table. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:03, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Ah, and my only gripe with Arceus' page is that the Show/Hide buttons are so far over to the right... might be tough for the average user to spot. I fiddled around with it a bit though, and couldn't figure a simple way to move the show-hide button... not without scrapping the type effectiveness template for the sections... -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:22, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
ED might have something but I don't know. TTEchidna 19:30, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Just wondering...

I've got a question. If a user makes an account, and then publicly states that he/she isn't here to make any sort of contributions to Bulbapedia and instead to only make a userpage, shouldn't he/she be punished...I mean his/her userpage be deleted or something? If the answer is yes, he/she should be punished, then have a look at this. If its no, then never mind. Thanks--Misty-May-Dawn rulz 10:53, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually he said hes here to stop porn pop-ups and they are quite annoying before you join. Bulbapedia has sold itself out with all of the advertising and highlighting words but i think thats gone now. Anyway i agree with you his account should be deleted, hes not here to contribute and Id like to see the look on his face when he comes on here and sees the porn pop ups again. Who is this again? And I'd hope he at least makes some contribs. No reason to prevent it. TTEchidna 18:32, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
I removed the delete tag on his page; it's a tiny page, nothing on it but a little info. And he doesn't seem to plan to edit it ever, so I don't see how it's going to hurt the server. Perhaps he'll edit something, he's bound to spot a misspell somewhere and fix it, or something of the sort. I can only imagine it would be discouraging if his userpage was instantly deleted when he first joined, though. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:18, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

What I did with my userpage

I just thought you should know a good thing that I did with my userpage. I'm new here, and I made a list of my major contributions here at Bulbapedia, like completely updating Chansey to the Platinum standard (It'll take a lot to convince me to do that with a Generation I Pokémon again) and making a note of a scenario that could be possible if there was an opponent like Duplica in the Pokemon games and you only had a Ditto. TorchicBlaziken 18:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Good work. TTEchidna 18:31, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

My Userpage

Is it possible to protect it and only let edit or protecct it for me please.--☆CoolPikachu! 01:03, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately no. TTEchidna 06:29, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Can you at least protect it?--☆CoolPikachu! 06:53, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Then you won't be able to edit it. TTEchidna 07:10, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
I know just untill Friday cause I'm moving.--☆CoolPikachu! 07:26, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Well... okay then. TTEchidna 07:33, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Thank You So much see you next week or soo..--☆CoolPikachu! 07:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Can you please delete "Category:Episodes_focusing_on_Suicune"? I made it unwittingly only to have ElectAbuzzzz tell me that the episodes I tried to categorize do not focus on Suicune and there is no point in making the category.--Misty-May-Dawn rulz 14:12, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

In the future, if you want something deleted, just stick delete on there. TTEchidna 20:54, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

MewX has improved this template today, but when there's nothing in the damage clause, it returns a ' instead of nothing (example). I don't know how to fix it, as it looks fine to me, and I really can't see anything in the template that would cause it. Any ideas? Double Dash 22:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

That's caused by the apostrophes bolding themselves. Since there's no attack power entered, it takes it as a noncharacter, and returns just ', resulting in '
I've fixed it so that if no attack power is entered it doesn't display attack power. Now... can anyone rip for me the "no energy required" attack thing? TTEchidna 22:26, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Cheers for that, this also means we can remove jname, jtrans and damage where unnecessary. As for the attack symbol, you'll like this - a:Image:None-attack.png, gives and is useable with the Energy template -  . Double Dash 22:37, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually, if that's okay, shall I start implementing it ASAP? Double Dash 22:56, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Do it, do it!
Though I was thinking we could dump it into the template... Lemme see. TTEchidna 22:59, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
That latest revision seems to work, nicely done. Double Dash 23:11, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
And I've made it so that the  , as well as just plain  , don't have hover text, while the     all do. TTEchidna 23:13, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Nicely done! I'm off to bed, but I think tomorrow I'll be removing the unnecessary jname and jtrans (and damage where unneeded) clauses from the current Legends Awakened articles. Best do it now, I think, then backtrack. Laters, Double Dash 23:21, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Okay then. TTEchidna 00:52, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

An idea

You know how all the GenIII Pokémon have the same sprites in RS as the do in FRLG, as well as most of the GenII Pokémon? Is it possible to make a seprate sprite table template so that we don't have to upload the same sprite twice under Image:Spr 3r xxx.png and Image:Spr 3f xxx.png? Kinda like what we did for the Pokémon with gender differences. --ケンジガール 02:30, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Ehh... I dunno. That'd be putting in too many complexities in my opinion... But I'll see what I can do.
Done. TTEchidna 02:53, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
As long as we're on the subject, I'd like to ask why some of the minisprites are .gif, and some are .png (at least as of the last time I checked), and whether or not we should be trying to fix this... --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:54, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
I personally think the static ones would be all best as .png, while the moving ones should stay .gif until everything can support animated .pngs. TTEchidna 02:55, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
OK. This could take a while, then. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 03:26, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
And how! Care to make animated pngs? TTEchidna 05:26, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. "why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page." That's a question, as it starts with "why," and should therefore end in a question mark. Punctuation/Grammar man saves the day! --ニョロトノ666 18:22, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Could you?

Could you make a table somewhat similar to Shadow Moves, except for the Special Moves (moves obtained from games like Ranger 2 or even Events) with same info and also where it was obatined? I tried but I couldn't do it. tc26 04:33, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... Can you possibly give me a list of all manners in which special moves are obtained? TTEchidna 04:40, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Examples include Darkrai with Roar of Time and Spacial Rend, one with dark Void at level 50, Regigigas with Icy Wind and Iron Head, Shaymin with Seed Flare at level 50, Pikachu with Surf and Fly and a Riolu with Aura Sphere. Mainly obtained from games, like the Riolu, and Events. I asked since some Pokémon have those at the bottom of their lists and they stand out. tc26 04:46, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah... well, "Event" is what I was looking for. Event, Crystal, Box, that stuff. TTEchidna 05:51, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I said events and box is included in the games. so you'll do it? tc26 05:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, I'll try my best to tomorrow. TTEchidna 06:01, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I think it's possible just to add another column at the end saying Obtained from. tc26 06:31, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
I'll help if I can tomorrow. TTEchidna 07:01, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur

"Shiny" is a proper adjective; the Pokemon franchise capitalizes it. Baby G 20:22, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Because EP255 has two titles, I tries to put them both in the episode link by doing this: Why? Why Not! but when it comes out (Why? Why Not!) It no longer shows that it is a link to the page until you actually click on it. Is this okay or should we try something different? MoldyOrange 23:10, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, since the episode prevnext autolinks... I think the problem is in the tt's precedence over a link. TTEchidna 18:19, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

FRLG and RSE back sprites.

I noticed that many of them are different within the GenI Pokémon. Is it possible to make a table to include both the RSE back sprites and the FRLG back sprites? --ケンジガール 07:22, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Example? Because we'll need to likely do the same for DP and Pt backsprites... TTEchidna 07:28, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Some have completely different poses such has Scyther. --ケンジガール 07:35, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
I think the entire table will need overhauling once we get the Platinum sprites... should this wait until then? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
That sounds fair. In the mean time, I'll have to crop all these sprites down to 64 x 64. I just found a sheet with all the sprites on them. Any particular file name I should give them? --ケンジガール 07:41, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... well, I was imagining that the sprite table could use an overhaul... Give them filenames of Spr b g3 ###.png and Spr b fl ###.png. Perhaps we can use the thing, too... Though it only works if there's a page at the specific sprite... meaning... we gotta categorize them here on Bulbapedia so that the page technically exists. idea for making standard-updating easier

I got an idea for making updating to Platinum Standard Easier. How about making a temporary category for pages with DP standard so people will know which ones to update, because it's hard to tell which pokemon are missing without making a new tab of the alphabetical list of Pokemon. TorchicBlaziken 16:07, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

We do have a category or four for that. Pokémon who have level-up learnsets listed, for example, should be deleted when it hits 493 + 1... in fact. I'll set it so it tells itself it needs to be deleted. TTEchidna 22:45, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Template:DP episode

While making the DP093 article and testing the recent modifications, I've noticed that there's one bugged line of code that doesn't calculate properly. It's this line in the infobox:

footnotes=<!--*100}}}|Screenshots on-->

Even after the template was subst'd to create the article, that line of code remained exactly the same. Everything else worked as it should.

Since you're the template hacking expert, is it possible you could find a fix? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 18:01, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

The <!-- and --> shouldn't be there. I fixed it for you. Check to see if I did it right and sorry if I did it wrong.--☆Tavisource 18:17, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I've fixed it. After a few tries, it turned out that the fix was simply adding code to interrupt the comment code. We'll have to tweak that line of code one more time when we reach DP100, but other than that, it should be smooth sailing from here on. --Shiningpikablu252 18:43, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I see...but I still think there should be a way to do it without having to change it all the time. Not that I know how, but after all, anything could be possible with coding now a days.--☆Tavisource 18:57, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
I'd say use the same #ifexpr statement I used for the prevnext, only the expression should be {{#ifexpr: {} < 100|0}}... But I swear I did that... TTEchidna 22:44, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

You've been making too many edits to the User talk: namespace lately. Please take your conversations to the forums, a chatroom, e-mail, an IM service, or something similar, as that many edits will slow down the server. --Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links01:36 17 Aug 2008 01:36, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Pshaw. Of course. TTEchidna 01:46, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

That also is interesting. TTEchidna 06:59, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Are we officially supposed to warn people for making too many edits to user talk? Or was that only for the user: namespace? And on that note, do we have any particular guideline for how much is too much, or is that basically up to the one doing the warning to judge? It only just occurred to me that I should know this. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 07:32, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
I say let the warner be the judge for user talk. If it's something stupid that belongs on the forums, tell them to take it to PMs there. If it's just a lot of stuff that has something to do with Bulba... leave it be. TTEchidna 07:37, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

I originally made that template when Kuki and Tavisource were chatting about a trade. It was filling up the RCs and slowing down the server, so I figured it was appropriate to give them a warning. I guess there hasn't been much use for it since, though (gee, I wonder why...). --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:03, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
What does you making a template have to do with me? And when did I ever talk about a trade with Kuki? Kuki doesn't even have a DP game.--☆Tavisource 23:06, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
My question is... is it a mainspace template? And if not, could you make it one, dump a delete tag on the redirect, and modify it to be like userwarning? TTEchidna 04:08, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
It's UsertalkWarning. - s.Combusken 05:47, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Around the last day of July, I gave you (Tavisource) a warning that you were editing your talk page too much when you could have used the Trade Coordination thread in the forums. A few days later (Aug. 2 according to my signatures), you still hadn't let up, so I created that template and dumped it on your talk page, as well as several other people who were talking way too much.
It's been in the Template namespace for some time now, TTE. I was hoping someone would protect it and modify it, because I don't know nearly enough code to do that myself (although I could probably reverse-engineer it from the other one if I had the time...). --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 06:23, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Screwing with someone else's code to figure it out for yourself is the best way, as far as I'm concerned. TTEchidna 06:25, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
I'll try and take care of it, then. Just give me a few minutes. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 06:27, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

I was going to do that last night, but ran out of time. I'll do it today. As for the alternate forms, I'll deal with them right now. TTEchidna 18:22, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Okay, abilities are all fixed... or at least should be. Notify me if there are any errors. Moves as well, though I still need to do the alternate types... TTEchidna 18:45, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

You're using moveentry. Use moveentrytm, like Softboiled does. Additionally, it doesn't require as many parameters as the first one, so there's no need for as many blank ones. TTEchidna 02:28, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Right. Thanks. --electAbuzzzz (TALK) 09:37, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

New Level-Up Template

When doing them, if a Pokémon has 2 abilities, should it be done as ? Because that's what I'm doing, but instead of getting the second type to show up I get style="background:#A040A0" align="center" |. Porygon-Z 18:32, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Platinum standard

Game screenshots are less of a concern. We need to standardize our delivery of information and prettify it before Platinum comes out. Glitch Pokémon learnsets ought to just use the base coding of the header and footer so as not to categorize things, but are fine to use the mlentry1 template for the moves. Either way, the three things listed on the main page and my own page are things we should do first and foremost in order to finish before September 13. TTEchidna 22:33, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Since you're an admin, I want to know what you think of the stuff that DCM is doing to me. Just look at my talk page. He has made several personal attacks against me, going so far as to call me "stupid". I need your advice as to what I should do about him. Sorry if I'm bothering you, but you're the most reliable admin I know, since you've been an admin since November 2006. Baby G 19:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

ZOMG, he called you stupid. Alright, this is ridiculous. Kuki was also whining that you called him a bully. Let's all act like grownups, here. --ニョロトノ666 22:11, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes.Just because I am kooko for Kokoa Puffs does not mean you should whine about your intelligence rightly being called into questionGood Day;DCM
>> If he prefixed the "good day" with a "you lose", I'd worry. Anyway, name change requests shouldn't be made for a "I don't really like this name anymore" thing... TTEchidna 01:54, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

I still don't understand how to edit my signature (change the font color, font size, font, etc.) Fern 24 20:06, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

You can use standard wiki coding in your signature, just remember to check the 'raw signatures' box. ←{Berrymaster|Talk|Contrib}→ 22:25, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Wahh!! Help me...

I finished Victreebel's 4th gen page... How can I make the other generation pages? Axl625 August 20, 2008; 3:30 P.M. ; GMT+8

You didn't exactly finish it. You have to do TMs/HMs, breeding, MT, and so on, too.
Anyway, why not take a look at Bulbasaur and see how it's done. TTEchidna 07:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I see. Thanks for saying that.

Axl625 07:51, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Ok. I'm really sorry, but thanks anyway. Is this how you do it for the tildes?
How can I automatically make my name template out of tildes? Axl625 08:09, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Preferences, nickname, and check the box that says "raw signatures (without automatic link)". TTEchidna 16:09, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Is it alright...

Jnames/Jtrans for TCG pages

You know how, for TCG pages, under a move, there's a space for the Jname and Jtrans? Well, for a move like Body Slam that's also in the games, is it alright to simply copy and paste the Jname and Jtrans from the move's page? Pikablu says there's a possibility for error in the translation, and that the TCG could use different romanizations than the games, but I think the possibility for error is inconsequential. In addition, the meaning is still there, even if the exact translation or romanization is lost. Your thoughts? --ニョロトノ666 16:14, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, eh. I'd say it's all right for TCG-to-TCG things, but not game-to-TCG ones... TTEchidna 16:16, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Featured Articles

Something needs to be done. Brock and History of the Pokémon World both have 19 votes for and 0 votes against. And yet they haven't been approved. Since you're the acting head of Bulbapedia, the ball's in your court. I assume you have the power to approve and reject articles, and on those two, I think the choice is clear. --ニョロトノ666 23:46, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

The main problem is setting them there. I'll do something about it tonight if I can. TTEchidna 00:30, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for having to post this while you're away. Feel free to handle this when you're able to again.

Is it possible to be able to hack Template:GlitchPkmnInfobox so that inputting "None" for either of the types doesn't link to anything? If you can do that, feel free to delete the redirect I'd created at "None (type)" to get it out of the wanted pages. Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 15:48, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

It's probably doable with a "if" command in there somewhere... that was never a strong point in template coding for me, however, I'm just pretty sure it's possible. And a rough fix would be to make the "switch" in there set to recognize all the types, and only add brackets to those. I can code that in myself, but it might make it a little messy (probably more coding then it needs). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
