Hey guys, it's FEBRUARY, the month of LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV. So why not show me some and let me keep this talk page until March. Or April. Or maybe, possibly, May?

I was going a bit outta control on RexRacer's talk page, so can you please give me a 30 minute cool-down block? I need to cool down. 0° 03:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Sure thing man. TTEchidna 03:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Can you make this? Template:Movelist/body/special/2 It'd be real nice. Thanks! ht14 03:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Done once more.--MisterE13 03:23, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
OKAY DEN! TTEchidna 03:26, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
By the way TTE, on the other archive, when I asked you to change the example here: it didn't come out clearly. There has to be a space and dash between "None" and "fieldmove".--MisterE13 03:32, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
...I don't understand why. That requires you to put the space in yourself... TTEchidna 03:34, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Go to MAGNEDETH's talk page. Too lazy to overload your page. I need to figure out issue. ht14 04:19, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
*indiscriminate facebeating* TTEchidna 04:20, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. ht14 04:21, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
It still shows: and |} on there... ht14 04:22, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Web 3.0 had better supplant the need for these assloads of templates that only I can seem to figure out by the time I'm 30. TTEchidna 04:23, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Or you could teach it to one of us... ht14 04:24, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
I learned by looking at the code that was left before me. And teaching over the internets is sorta hard. TTEchidna 04:25, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh. You should suggest it to those who are actually good at it. ht14 04:26, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
You can get good at it. Just take a look at it. TTEchidna 04:38, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Eventually, I'll be able to be in charge (whoa!) and move on as well as help out. ht14 04:40, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Threatening to take my job? B&. TTEchidna 05:40, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

A little late... but TTE, the thing I keep asking you to fix is at the bottom of the page. There is an example that shows people how to use the template. It needs to have a space and hyphen between the words "None" and "fieldmove"! Also, the instructions should also include such a note for all the moves without power levels.--MisterE13 21:56, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

You know what to do to it better than me. Fix it. TTEchidna 04:16, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
All done. That turned out complicated.--MisterE13 22:05, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Jioruji Derako used Tackle on TTE's talkpage.

It's super-effective.

Oh, and you should look at this. Testing seems to work out fine. As a bonus, if you dig through the coding, you'll see a commented-out bit of coding that would allow for a small "target" variable. It's a little rough, which is why I'm not including it currently, but a possible idea for the future, if we decide to standardize that information in the infobox. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:52, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Okay. How's about the anime template I made up? TTEchidna 21:46, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't know if I like it so much. Like why is it white where the Japanese title is? Are the colors going to be different for every saga? --ケンジガール 02:18, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Why is it white where the Japanese title is? I figured that separating it would be fine. And yes, they will be. On my subpage at EpInfo. TTEchidna 02:20, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Movie Template

How are we suppose to add home video dates to the new movie template? --HoennMaster 16:41, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Uhhhmmmm... In the... way with the variables that I didn't pass through before but which are passed now so go include them. TTEchidna 19:00, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Administrator Status

In order to keep our Administrator list currently up-to-date, this is a generic "are you there" message.

You've been assumed as currently alive (by technical standards) and are already marked as such, but if you disagree with this, either edit the List of administrators to reflect your status (Dead, Alive, or Something Like Schrodinger's Cat), or reply here when you get the chance. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 16:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Oh I totally disagree. Because I'm totally never here. TTEchidna 22:26, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
But if you're not here, then obviously you didn't leave the above comment. I'll have to wait two weeks for the real TTE to speak up. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 22:46, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Whenever he shows up to archive his talk page that gets used as the community messageboard... TTEchidna 22:47, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
...I certainly don't know anything about a "community messageboard". And I certainly haven't contributed to what you speak of. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 22:51, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
If you say so. TTEchidna 22:52, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

This is LOL. --ニョロトノ666 00:23, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

What does it do and where should one use it?--MisterE13 22:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

One should use it on a template when they don't want a specific part of the template to appear elsewhere (This is hard to explain) For example, if I put <noinclude>EXPLODE</noinclude> on a template, and one put it somewhere else, "EXPLODE" would not show up.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 22:12, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
It's just as if you were restricting it to one place. 1337Fire ►strike! 22:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
It's for categories and stuff that should only appear on the template's page. The opposite is <includeonly>, which causes stuff inside to appear only on pages that the template is included in. TTEchidna 22:25, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
So like if you wanted to show an example for how to use the template on it's page but obviously not wanting it to appear when the template is used.--MisterE13 03:12, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Exactly. TTEchidna 03:43, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Galm's comment

Im sorry for taking a style from a different site, i will delete it as soon as i can. can the item picture before the item's name still go on?- unsigned comment from Galm (talkcontribs)

It's already been deleted, though. As for the item pictures... those were kind of... eh. We're gonna be restandardizing them soon anyway, and don't forget that some items don't have bag sprites. And sign next time! And don't upload sprites as jpgs. TTEchidna 22:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Yo dude when is my abuse period over, i didnt even know how it got there. Galm 21:03, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

"=" template

Jio explained the principals of why it would be important and since we already have "!" (for "|") I thought it could be both useful and doable. I'd make it myself but I'd rather have someone else decide what to name it.--MisterE13 23:06, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Just name it... =... TTEchidna 23:08, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Except that uses the symbol which defeats the purpose of having one because in calling the template, you have to type "=". It would have to be something like "Template:--" (for the two lines) right?--MisterE13 00:11, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
I think having the curlybrackets prevents the template from thinking the "=" as a real thing. The ! is different because we can't have Template:| apparently. - unsigned comment from Sol (talkcontribs) 00:14, 7 February 2009
I'm confused. What's the template supposed to call anyway? TTEchidna 00:19, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
The template calls an "=" because apparently one cannot use that in a Switch expression thus using it in the name would be pointless.--MisterE13 00:33, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that {{=}} ought to work fine. It's the name of the template, not a field, so it shouldn't confuse the equal sign for anything. --((Marton imos)) 00:36, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
There, see? Typing in {{template|=}} didn't work as a link to the template page, but {{template|{{=}}}} gets us {{=}}. Equals signs act screwy in template fields, but this template gets them working fine. --((Marton imos)) 00:39, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Aslkdsn how could I forget to sign. Kinda ironic though, that you have to use the template to link to itself. XD ~ sol 00:43, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. When I tried it the way you would any other template and it didn't work, I thougth maybe E13 was right after all. But then I realized that it was because of the reason we were coming up with the template in the first place, so I got a cool chance to demonstrate its functionality completely on accident. --((Marton imos)) 00:48, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Ah, so that's what you wanted... As long as it has a use. TTEchidna 02:44, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

List of Japanese voice actors

Can you make it so those three tables are the same size? Thanks ~♥ --ケンジガール 05:10, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I need a new username. I don't like mine anymore. I want to be renamed "Mamoswine Gliscor". Can you do this? --Juan Sanfiel 8 February 2009 15:33:46 (UTC)

How about, it gives out my real name and I am a bit foolish of what I did. I don't like that to happen.--Juan Sanfiel 8 February 2009 16:55:00 (UTC)
Thats a great reason. GIVE HIM NAME CHANGEDCM((Mock MeEdits)) 17:00, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
I agree... most people won't remember that it's you unless you re-direct your old name to the new one. Just a thought Pyles 22:19, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
I am still waiting. Since 10:33 am I was! Juan Sanfiel - Blah, Blah, Blah 00:00, 9 February 2009 (UTC) (or Mamoswine Gliscor)
I guess TTE is not on the computer... hope you can get it changed soonPyles 00:14, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Jeez, guys, I'm not a freaking robot. I have a life too, ya know. Anyway, being namefagged by yourself is no good idea. So you're sure about Mamoswine Gliscor? TTEchidna 00:33, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Positive Juan Sanfiel - Blah, Blah, Blah 00:35, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Okay then. Gimme a minute to work. TTEchidna 00:38, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Why didn't you just get Bulbabot to do it? oh, wait he was beaten with a shovel by DCM :P Pyles 00:52, 9 February 2009 (UTC) P. S. I'm sorry but I don't really get the Bulbabot idea anyway

Botty doesn't do renaming. Too complex for him. He just adds interwiki links. TTEchidna 00:54, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
I get it. He is you, right? Pyles 00:57, 9 February 2009 (UTC) I'm sorry, I'm too stupid
Botty's just programming which I can log in as to screw with people. TTEchidna 00:58, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
While we are on the topic, can't we add an auto-welcome function?--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 00:59, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
We could but eh, it seems kinda impersonal if it's automatic. TTEchidna 01:03, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I felt really welcomed when it was from another user. This was by the way a short while ago. If it was automatic, then the new user wouldn't know anybody. I happened to have PhoenixGraphix as a real-life friend so it wouldn't matter to me Pyles 01:54, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Do we need a welcome to be Heartfelt? WE already use a bland, automatic welcome, so i doubt it will scar people to much if it comes from a robot. And how did you know about the shovel!!DCM((Mock MeEdits)) 02:18, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

I saw the shovel a while ago, but I still remember DCMPyles 17:13, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

EpicodePrevNext color schemes

I've went ahead and added two more color schemes available. These schemes were added while I was converting the PrevNexts on the Pokémon Special rounds. The two new schemes are Yellow (used in Yellow chapter rounds such as PS041) and FRLG (used in FireRed/LeafGreen chapter rounds such as PS268). If you can think of better colors for those schemes, go ahead and tweak them. --Shiningpikablu252 18:34, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Ack, I was actually intending for there to be a SpecialPrevNext. Ah well. TTEchidna 21:48, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

I have an AIM now. Wanna chat? 0° 20:50, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

He's not on, but I am if you want... MaverickNate 20:53, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Additions to the edit buttons

I don't know if it's possible, but I think it would be beneficial to add a couple of buttons to the top of the edit window. Perhaps: "{{}}" (for templates) and "{{|}}" (for link templates) hope this helps and is doable.--MisterE13 23:11, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

It might be, but that'd be getting into the css rather than anything else. TTEchidna 23:20, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Speaking of templates, do you think this is a good idea? I think I got every sensible combination possible, and if there has to be more people can use multiple templates. There's a demonstration on the page's talk page. ~ sol 23:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Good, but I'd wonder where it could be added where it's not already hardcoded... TTEchidna 04:42, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... Guess you're right. I'll leave it for now, though, in case it might be used later. ~ overgrownsol 23:08, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

They're done!

I got some help from Jioruji Derako and the Unown Trozei and Gen II templates are all done! The best part is that they're both self contained so no special codes to put when they're implemented to the side games/sprite templates (They already display exceptions for ! and ?). Template:Side game/Trozeiyes/26formes

There are still several other templates I had made that have not been implemented yet so if you have the time/the inclination and need a refresher on what they all are, I'd be glad to help.--MisterE13 01:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes please. TTEchidna 04:43, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

MisterE13 16:08, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Oy. Side games... TTEchidna 23:10, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Implementing them all would be fairly simple I should think, they work exactly like the other sprite templates do except you have to implement them here: Side game--MisterE13 01:21, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, though the sprite template's no walk in the park to screw around with. TTEchidna 01:56, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Wow, now that I understand the code, it seems even more complicated. Still, it should be a copy/paste ordeal. If it helps, none of the Unown ones use variables for the forms.--MisterE13 02:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
That's a relief... TTEchidna 02:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Ya know, I could probably do them myself if you unprotected them. Or maybe in my sandbox.--MisterE13 22:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Noooo... the sprite template is VERY fragile... I can hardly edit it sometimes... TTEchidna 23:23, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I just tried in my sandbox. It is fragile.--MisterE13 01:29, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
I'll get to it as soon as the Overgrow upgrades begin. TTEchidna 01:49, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Are there any more such updates? I'd be glad to help.--MisterE13 22:53, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
They're coming down the pipes. TTEchidna 02:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
So the Overgrow upgrades have begun. (*Points a few points up*)--MisterE13 03:02, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Indeed they have. I'll be on it soonish. TTEchidna 03:56, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I also just made Template:Sprite/4/2formes/1mini. Mostly because the way we have it set up now includes the minisprite for bloomed Cherrim (which doesn't exist) but also because it showed bud AFTER bloomed. Now, you can just put this into the sprite template and make it not ask for the minisprite.--MisterE13 18:54, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Which user here (In your opinion) knows the most about the anime? I had a question, which I will post here so someone else could answer.

When was the first episode with a gen 4 pokemon in it aired in Japan?

Name change

Just asking, but could I get my username changed? I would like it to be "J-J-M" without the quotes. Jmath 20:38, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

You need to give him a reason, I think. 0° 20:40, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
"JMath" is the name of a freaking CAS (Computer Algebra System) which I had no idea until now. Jmath 20:49, 13 February 2009 (UTC) What's wrong with that? TTEchidna 23:41, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
It just isn't original, that's all. Jmath 20:58, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
There's more than one person whose online name can be shortened to TTEchidna. TTEchidna 04:57, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh c'mon, TTE, just this once? After all the time I've been on the 'pedia, it's the first time I'm making a request like this to anyone. I probably won't ask for a name change again for a long time. Jmath 23:17, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, if you're really sure you want one... I can't deny you. I just... think it's not that good of a reason. So are you absolutely sure? TTEchidna 23:18, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
I am. And thanks. Jmath 23:25, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Just a quick question...

As an admin on Bulbanews and a staffie on the forums, should I be something on the 'pedia?--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 14:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for butting in, but probably not. You were only made admin on the news because of vandalism, and Politoed666 has been trying to stop users for getting admin status for that reason, (so technically, you kind of shouldn't have been made one in the first place) and we have too many administrators on the pedia now anyway. MaverickNate 17:23, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Completely understood. Just pay close attention to your talk pages, admins! I'm here almost 24/7! I'll report thy vandals, and killith thou evilness!--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 14:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

TTE, you know a lot about this site. How can you customize your signature?Alec9 20:16, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

My preferences. Signature. Make sure to turn raw signatures on. Then it's whatever wikicode that doesn't include linebreaks. So no templates. TTEchidna 22:19, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Might I add that it's the same number of creatures that Ditto is (because of Transform)? ←{Berrymaster|Talk|Contrib}→ 01:39, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Actually, Ditto can be any of the 28 Unown, adding 27, both formes of Shaymin and Giratina, adding two, all four of Deoxys, adding three, the other Wormadam and Burmy, adding four, the other Shellos and Gastrodon, adding two. So all in all that's... 527. TTEchidna 03:55, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

I uploaded the file for the Great Encounters set image, as you can see on the Archives, but it doesn't work with the TCG expansion template because of the .gif extension. Can you fix that? Thanks. BTW, do you like the expansion prev/next? --ニョロトノ666 03:14, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

TTE, I don't know how to make a new template for the platinum theme decks for the TCG. I was just wondering if you knew how to make a new one and correct it. --Pokemaster11

...take the current template code. Fool around with it. Ta dah. TTEchidna 00:53, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey, Remember Me?

Hey TTE! Remember me? I'm not doing much these days (besides school), so I've decided to come back to the site! I see that there has been a myriad of changes, but I'm glad that you've continued running Bulba. Btw, congrats on replacing Zhen Lin!!! C ya around! --Theryguy512 16:31, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

There's something wrong with this template. Yesterday, I added a noincluded category to get it out of the uncategorized templates; however, today I went into the uncategorized templates and saw it was still there. I don't know what piece of coding is causing this. Is it possible for you to find what's wrong and get the template out of uncategorized? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 16:58, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

It's categorized now. for some reason the category would not work being on the same line as the table code. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:02, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
That's because someone didn't close the table when making it. TTEchidna 00:49, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Something new!

In my latest attempt to demonstrate polyformality, I've done some tinkering to Template:Moveentrytm: User:MisterE13/template:Moveentrytm. Feel free to play around with the variables but I'm 99% sure it works. Rotom might stretch tables a bit too much but hey, Rotom stretches a lot of tables. I can fix the other Moveentry templates later if this is approved. (BTW, it's so we don't get things like all 4 Deoxys in the same table with the same level learned or the always annoying 2 seperate Shellos). Unfortunately, some of the things are hard-coded to show the Normal form if you put in the number. Also, Rotom's forms do not seem to be coded in at all which could be unhelpful for showing moves learnt by one of them.--MisterE13 02:13, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, how's it work with those? TTEchidna 03:44, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Currently, most pages have it like the breeding section of Mirror Coat (Please note the fact that we have both East and West Shellos in seperate boxes. Deoxys does it too.--MisterE13 23:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Wait wait wait wait, this is already implemented? TTEchidna 00:22, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
No, it currently displays two seperate boxes one on top of the other for all the formes (generally of Deoxys, Wormadam, Shellos and Gastrodon) I'm proposing to show all the minisprites in the box.--MisterE13 02:46, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, like I said, okay, but show it off beforehand on a test page or something. TTEchidna 03:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

D'ya think

You can figure out why {{Mini}} messes up the sidebar on all the pages it's included in?--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 23:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

ok...Sol got it.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 23:36, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

How do you know how many KBs a talk page takes up? YinYang 00:37, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Uh. Depends on how much crap there is on it. Check the history tab. It tells you how many KB are in each revision. TTEchidna 00:46, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Are you using IE? I'm on FireFox. YinYang 01:00, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
...I'm one of the greatest proponents of forcing everyone into Firefox. It's at the freaking top of the page. It says how many bytes there are with each revision, divide by 1024 and you have KB. Me, I have 9 KB right here. TTEchidna 01:03, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Ooohhh that's what you meant!! I was looking at something else! Thanks!!! YinYang 01:16, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Award Scheme

Heya TTE. I'm now the Project Leader of Locations and I was wondering if I can put an award scheme/system on to encourage users to edit more location articles. It will be just like the Golden Bulbasaur Award, where every month a user, who is doing the best contributions, will relieve an award like the Golden Bulbasaur Award. But instead, the award can be kept on the project page, and it will be given out by me. Think it's a good idea?--Clarky13 13:59, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm gonna say... eh. Not really. Locations is where I started though, so maybe I could help. And yes it is 6 AM here. TTEchidna 12:25, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, please do. I need something to brighten up these articles. lol 6AM, Its almost midnight here.--Clarky13 12:33, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Permission to insert false information?

Theryguy512 said you basically gave him permission to insert false information onto Mankey, basically allowing the redirect to be converted to a disambig that lists that Ash caught a Mankey in EP029 before it evolved into Primeape. Anyone with half a brain knows that the Mankey evolved and THEN Ash caught the Pokémon, hence saying Mankey was a Pokémon that belonged to Ash before evolving is false information. (A Mankey that Ash did catch in the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga is unrelated to the Mankey in question, and is not notable for its own article because it was quickly traded away for a bogus map.)

This wave of false information even spread onto Spearow. Ash caught his Electric Tale Fearow directly as a Fearow, yet a recently-converted disambig implies that he caught it as a Spearow and then it evolved into a Fearow. The truth is that Ash has never caught a Spearow in any canon, yet the disambig lists Ash's Fearow evolving in a similar path as a Pokémon Ash tried to catch in the anime but failed.

I don't see why someone would think you'd willingly give them permission to insert false information onto Pokémon redirects...--Shiningpikablu252 16:21, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

actually, i told him he could, however, i didnt think he meant a Mankey disambig, i thought he meant a redirect of Ash's Mankey, which i didnt know already existed. it was a mis-understanding. -- MAGNEDETH 20:36, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

A little confused on our policies...

I thought the rules were that we aren't supposed to move pages to English names until the episode airs. Isn't it to avoid Ada/Audrey Solidad/Samantha instances? So what makes Yuri/Lila different? Did we change the rules? --ケンジガール 03:09, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Beats me. I was told it needed moving. TTEchidna 03:12, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
By whom? Just for the record, J-J-M did some attempted gun-jumping earlier based entirely on the online preview listing, which was NOT an airing last I checked. --Shiningpikablu252 03:18, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Bulba AIM chats like we usually have. TTEchidna 03:19, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm guessing it was RexRacer as it was him who approached me. It's best to review what you are moving first. It was protected from moving for a reason. Gun jumpers. We all know very well that has been wrong before and an announcement does not mean a confirmation. That's why these pages get protected days before the broadcast. --ケンジガール 03:25, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank Mimey you're here!

Templates on other Bulbawiki projects

Hi! It would be very useful if you could figure out a way to have a page template (like {{bulba color}}) that is hosted on Bulbapedia to be used on Bulbanews without transferring it. Can you think of a way around this?--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 14:27, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Nope. Gotta be on the local wiki to be used as a template. TTEchidna 00:13, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Archiving MY talk page

If I'm gonna ask this to someone, its you. Should I archive my talk page now? Its got at least 50 sections in it. Although... I did get an idea for it to have at least 70 sections before I archive it... So should I? Oh, and would I name it User talk:Dragonbeastx/Archive or User talk:Dragonbeastx/Archive 1? So?--DRAGONBEASTX 11:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Archiving is personal preference. Do it whenever you like, there is nothing right or wrong as long as you move the page instead of copy/paste. Make sure it goes to a place where it makes sense for you though. If you think you'll archive again later, Archive_1 is probably a good place to go. — THE TROM — 11:08, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Okay, not just Shar-e-Bengla(I don't know if I spelled that right...} answered but also TROM, thanks, guys!:)--DRAGONBEASTX 11:13, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Okay, a "sorry" to Sher-e-Bengal, for getting your username wrong... sorry...--DRAGONBEASTX 11:20, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

2 things

I think it is about time for you to archive this page but before that I need help with changing my username on wikipedia. I know this is a bad place to talk about it but I was hoping you would know how. Is it the same as changing your username on here. If so- tell me please! -- Landfish7 23:42, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

he archives when the Pokemon at the top of the page dies. and changing your name in wikipedia is totally different. this isnt even wikipedia, so, you should probably ask an admin there. -- MAGNEDETH 23:54, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Template stuff

Could you put a SUBST: (with includeonly tags) before the "#if:" parser function for {{unsigned}}? So that when the template itself is SUBSTed, then the parser function stuff itself doesn't show up.

And while I'm on the subject of templates, {{Smash Bros.}} would like an update. There's already the code on the talk page. ~ overgrownsol 04:51, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Did. TTEchidna 04:59, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. ~ overgrownsol 05:00, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, the parser is pretty much unused. There was an argument earlier here about timestamps being used with {{Unsigned}}. I believe it was pretty much made clear, that using the {{{2}}} that is in the template was a complete waste of time. So, maybe we should just obliterate the {{{2}}} on the template all together, seeing as it's use is pretty much unnecessary. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 08:00, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I've went ahead and whipped up this template for use in the TM articles, but I'm having a bit of trouble hacking the wraparounds. Simply put, I'm having trouble looping the left side to 92 for TM01 or the right side to 01 for TM92. Since you're a far better template hacker than I am, is it possible to hack the template to make the loops I'm looking for (or even possibly to allow the template to be used for HMs as well)? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 05:25, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Ooohgh... that looks complicated. TTEchidna 05:26, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Why are the Administrators giving out the Award of "worst page"? I find it unnecessary and rude to the user. Awards should be something a person will be proud of. Anyway, this is an encyclopedia for people who love Pokémon. So a person has a "bad" page. So what? Pyles 23:39, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Because it's not just "bad", it's BAD (as in, all capitals, bolded, italicized). So bad that it's easy to believe that whoever made the page didn't try at all. Some of the terrible pages do not even relate to Pokémon at all. So in conclusion, this award is usually only rewarded to people who do not take a large interest in effectively editing Bulbapedia, and so will not care deeply when they receive the award. ~ overgrownsol 23:47, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Maybe. TTEchidna 20:08, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Why do you give them to Users that are never on? Why don't you give them to useless pages created by a User? I don't think that User:Dragonbeastx/The Aura Spot is really informational. His regular page is much better. Pyles 22:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Terrible pages in the mainspace. Not the userspace. And the userspace isn't meant to be informational anyway. ~ overgrownsol 22:54, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Then why have they been given to Users? Pyles 23:01, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't mention anything about why Pokémons, Mews and so on is wrong. MathijsP 16:51, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, yes it does. You obviously were not reading carefully enough. Read the section titles 'Article titles'. Here is a line from it: In most cases, titles referring to a specific group should be kept singular, such as item rather than items. However, some exceptions are allowed when the group name is plural, such as Eevee brothers rather than Eevee brother. --Theryguy512 16:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
That is absolutely not what it refers to.
It doesn't mention why it's wrong because we're an encyclopedia, not a damned dictionary. There aren't "151 POKEYMANZ" in RBY. Charmeleon's Diamond dex entry. Clearly refers to it as the plural without an S. EP025, Oak mentions that Gary's captured "30 Pokémon". No S. It's wrong because it is and if anyone's paying attention to it at all they will find that it is NOT right to add an S. TTEchidna 20:07, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, Pokémon. There ya go! TTEchidna 20:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Rotom's main image

Why did you switch the main image of Rotom to the Spin Rotom??? The last picture was good, and if it must be a single form's artwork, it should be that of the normal form's. --Theryguy512 02:31, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

It is coded to automatically switch formes depending on the time. --RexRacer 02:33, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Really? Interesting. Why was that programmed? --Theryguy512 02:35, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Others already had it: Basically, Giratina changes every hour, Deoxys every day, Shaymin is in Sky form at the UTC time that it is allowed to be in the games (4AM-8PM) and Rotom now changes with the days of the week: Sunday and Monday are Normal, Tuesday is Heat, Wednesday is Wash, Thursday is Frost, Friday is Spin and Saturday is Cut. It all works like Arceus's different type things.--MisterE13 02:18, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh, okay. You learn new things everyday. (P.S., EVERY HOUR for Giratina??? Isn't that a little much?) --Theryguy512 02:42, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually, Saturday and Sunday are normal. Then it goes. And Giratina alternates every hour because that's the best idea I had. TTEchidna 02:43, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok, but the forms...for Deoxys...maybe separate it so it's like Arceus? Also, Burmy and evo? Maybe... ht14 02:49, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Deoxys's forms aren't as numerous as Arceus's. Arceus changes every second and I'm not doing that for any other pages. Deoxys is fine changing over a week cycle. TTEchidna 02:55, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Can't you set the changing thing so that it gets changed you say? Can it work that way? ht14 02:56, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
What do you want to change?--MisterE13 02:58, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Make it look like Arceus's hiding form set stuff...can't quite put into words... ht14 02:59, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Look at the headers on the page, which section do you want.--MisterE13 03:00, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Siiiiiiiiiiiigh. Look, Arceus is on an eighteen-second cycle because really, you can change it ANYTIME YOU WANNA! Want Fighting Arceus, give it the Fist Plate. Change type effectiveness by clicking on show/hide. The others I've done up differently because I don't want to have the same thing twice. Deoxys wouldn't work on a four-second cycle because the form isn't RANDOM. It's specific. Arceus works on an eighteen-second cycle because it's got so many damned forms. I'm not putting it on an eighteen-minute, or eighteen-hour, or eighteen-day cycle, because then MORONS WHO CAN'T READ (we get far too many here) will be all "OH ARKEYS IS NORMAL BETTER CHANGE IT". TTEchidna 03:04, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Unless, you know, you meant the base stats, in which case, why didn't you say that!? As for Burmy and Wormadam, Shellos and Gastrodon, I'll get to them EVENTUALLY. TTEchidna 03:14, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, so now we see that echy needs a break before he kills anyone. Base stats are now hiding according to form. Check out over the next week if it works fine, and I'll implement it on Rotom, Giratina, and Shaymin's pages too. TTEchidna 03:37, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for understanding, and sorry for replying so quickly...I have a bad habit of that...M-DETH yelled at me for that... ht14 03:40, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Template:Infobox game

Try here. ~ overgrownsol 01:37, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Ah, using the colorscheme template. Good. But. Could be bad if we keep the colorscheme templates with their current scheme. It only works for Red/Green, Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond/Pearl. Others we'd need a new pairing for. TTEchidna 03:08, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
OK. I changed it a bit. What do you think of it now? See the talk page for an example.--Sher-e-Bengal- 05:39, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
That is very glaring. TTEchidna 05:43, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
The colors? That's not the fault of the template, is it? Any changes that you suggest? You can edit it.--Sher-e-Bengal- 05:46, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, since not all of the games even follow a scheme, I'd say make it color-neutral. TTEchidna 08:45, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Bulba color or green?--Sher-e-Bengal- 08:47, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
That's not a neutral color... TTEchidna 08:48, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
What color then?...--Sher-e-Bengal- 08:49, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Find one or two that look good. TTEchidna 08:50, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
The templates used blueinfobox-es. So, blue should be a "neutral color". There are some good templates: {{diamond color}}, {{diamond color light}}, {{water color light}}, {{beauty color light}}. Which would you prefer?--Sher-e-Bengal- 09:06, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Since I'm too lazy to retype, here's exactly what I asked Shiningpikablu: "I know that there is the "wait until it airs" policy, but does it have a page like the signature policy? If it is, can we add it to the welcome message? If not, can we make a speculation policy AND add it? I dunno if today was a particularly bad day, but the gun-jumping with Staravia/Staraptor was pretty annoying and may be somewhat avoided by adding a mention to the welcome. Then again, I may be the only person who actually read the welcome message. "

He then redirected me to you. The Dark Fiddler - Is teh Pedia laggin 4 u 2? 23:17, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Wait someone jumped the gun with Staravia? Anyway, if there's no policy page, then yes, in fact, hell yes, make one up and we'll look at it and improve it. TTEchidna 01:38, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
No. Just Staraptor...and Ash...and DP118, naturally...I requested Staravia/aptor protection from SP252. --PsychicRider 01:40, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
WOAH. I can make it? ZOMG. am I dreaming/misunderstanding? *Goes to look at other policy pages for a guide* The Dark Fiddler - Is teh Pedia laggin 4 u 2? 01:47, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, where should I make it? The Dark Fiddler - Is teh Pedia laggin 4 u 2? 01:57, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Make it in your userspace and put the Bulbapedia proposed policies category on them. ~ overgrownsol 01:59, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I made it... I really think it's short, and messy as messy can be, but... yeah, that's why you said you'd improve it I guess The Dark Fiddler - Is teh Pedia laggin 4 u 2?
Simple enough, really. We'll take a look at it all together and add to it. TTEchidna 03:09, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't have the time to add it now but I think we should add if an official Nintendo confirmation supersedes the waiting until it airs. Like, if to weeks ago, they came out of their mystic castles and shouted "Staravia evolves in DP118!!", would we add it despite it not having aired yet? Srapator is here

Hi .As now the new movie poster has revealed that Starvia is going to evolve in DP118 so you can unprotect those pages. --Prongs 05:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)PRONGS

Could be later, no unprotect. ΘρtιmαtumTalk 05:45, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
No. Posters are not evidence. Staraptor appeared in the preview for DP066. No evolution. Monferno and Staraptor could easily belong to movie characters. TTEchidna 08:47, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

We have recently had minor gun-jumping speculation skirmishes on Chimchar and Staraptor. You should probably protect both of them. And Staravia and Ash's Chimchar, too, while your at it. --Theryguy512 12:12, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm having a bit of trouble with a modification I'm trying to implement. Due to the dark shade of {{tcg darkness color light}}, I tried to figure out a way to display the text color in white when the "type" field of TCGPokémonPrevNext reads "darkness". Needless to say, nothing I tried worked. Can you figure out what I was doing wrong? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 18:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Ifeq statement. Makes it so that if the primary type is Darkness, the text is white. TTEchidna 23:10, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Wandering. Do we have some sort of article regarding releasing a Pokémon? ht14 02:13, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Releasing? Like, sending out or permanently? I don't think we do, actually. TTEchidna 02:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
The second one...I think it'd make an interesting article. ht14 02:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Go for it. TTEchidna 02:18, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Edit War May Start

Sorry to bug you, but for DP054, there may be an edit war starting over a piece of trivia. I'm hoping you can do something about it before it turns into a full-out war. SL-samacontribs 02:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Why is this such a big freakin deal!? We do it for Wobbuffet!!! --ケンジガール 02:17, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree with KG. We do it for Wobby, we should do it for the penguin. TTEchidna 02:19, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
For God's sake, calm down. This is extremely unlike a good admin. I suggest you stop, as I remove such useless trivia. Why? Because it's useless. So knock it off. Not only are both trivia pieces completely useless, but you're starting an edit war. SL-samacontribs 02:20, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
No, you started it. TTE agrees. So knock it off. We have way more useless trivia then this. Like Bulbasaur being the first Grass-type. --ケンジガール 02:23, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
I did not start any edit wars. That was you and psychic rider. I didn't even edit after your childish actions, because I wanted to take it up with another administrator. As in, one that doesn't do stupid crap like this. SL-samacontribs 02:24, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Look. That trivia's not so useless. Piplup appears all the damn time. An episode it doesn't appear in is a rarity. This isn't Misty's Staryu we're talking about, or May's Torchic. Piplup is barely inside its Poké Ball anymore! TTEchidna 02:25, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
If that were honestly true, than she wouldn't have had to edit so many of the DP articles. She edited 10+ of the articles, so it's obviously in its Poké Ball a lot more than you make it out to be. And she hardly scratched the surface of the episodes. SL-samacontribs 02:28, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you... That's what I try to explain to them. Piplup isn't just some regular Pokémon like Misty's Staryu or Brock's Onix. For the most part, it travels outside its Poké Ball, like Pikachu. It's become an important character of the Diamond & Pearl series and it's absent should be noted. I am so sick and tired of people treating Piplup like some common Ash friend Pokémon when it isn't... --ケンジガール 02:30, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Firstly "I am so sick and tired of people treating Piplup like some common Ash friend Pokémon when it isn't...", what? Secondly, you're just doing this because of personal preference for Piplup? Because that is what you're implying. However, I'd like to turn your attention to the most recent comment I placed on your talk page. Read it and soak it in. SL-samacontribs 02:32, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

When's the last time it's been in a Poké Ball. Seriously. The Psyduck episode? 10+ pages when the series has been going on for almost 120 already. Piplup appears in every episode with few exceptions. Those exceptions are noted just as much as Wobbuffet's are, since that thing's been in every one since EP146. We're on EP586. 440 episodes, and it's in most of them. Piplup's a similar case, and should be noted as such. TTEchidna 02:32, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
And I'd also like you to refer to the comment I placed on her talk page as well. SL-samacontribs 02:34, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Look. It's just fricking trivia. Calm down about it. TTEchidna 02:42, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh, for God's sakes, I'm not freaking out. When in there did I freak out? I'd love for you to show me. I even dropped it; so where did I freak out? SL-samacontribs 02:43, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
It's not all about personal preference. Yes, I like Piplup. But over time, I've seen people try to deny what is FACT. Piplup is meant to be more important than the other Pokémon characters, besides Pikachu and Meowth. It stays out of a Poké Ball, it appears in most episodes, it has its own ending, and its name appears in the Japanese credits along with the other important characters rather then the second list of guests. That is my argument. You people don't want to believe that someone other than Pikachu, Meowth, and Togepi is finally sharing the lime light. I HATE Meowth and Togepi but I'm not going to deny their important roles.
And please don't act like you don't freak out. You do. How many times have you've been told to calm down already? Yeah... --ケンジガール 02:45, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, you were freaking out. Going a little over the deep end. You were practically yelling at KG on her talk page. TTEchidna 02:48, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
