Okay, I'll change the limit to 100KB, but seriously, that's it.

Custom Sprites

Kuki said about creating sprites for the different patterned Butterfree and Vileplume. And since you said you are simply in charge here when Pie and Zhen isn't here, I guess that means you might know more. So the question is if we should make sprites for those. But since they are different patterns, much like arbok and spinda, there is no reason to make a new sprite just for a new pattern right? But Kuk's argument is that they are also different colored. So what's your view?--Tavisource 02:40, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm not just in charge while they're gone. I am in charge...
Anyway... I think it'd be best to take it forumward to see what the others think of it. TTEchidna 03:06, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Umm...it won't let me create a new thread. I clicked "New Thread" and it says I do not have permission. Is that what I was supposed to do, or did I do it wrong?--Tavisource 04:54, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Are you, um... registered for the forums? TTEchidna 05:34, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
yes. I'll just do it on the talk page. Maybe I just don't know how to work the forums, I never found a need to use it.--Tavisource 05:42, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Eh, I think it'd be better to do the forums... You sure you did it right? TTEchidna 05:49, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Nevermind, I got it.--Tavisource 18:35, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Mind if I happen to steal?

Hey TTE, would you mind if I happen to "steal" some things that you have made? Specifically I'd like to "steal" (and of course modify) your archive page that counts bytes, and your Pokémon of the Day. Might I be allowed to do this, or would you prefer I not? Sorry to bug you about this, but I like to ask before I "steal" things ^_^; - Kogoro | Talk to me | 03:18, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

PotD is pretty much the only one that I don't want borrowed. As for the archives, go for it, just change the colors. TTEchidna 04:36, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I won't borrow the PotD. Thank you for permission on the archives ^_^ - Kogoro | Talk to me | 04:44, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Can I also borrow the KB counter? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 14:35, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Sub-Pages

How do you create sub-pages like the ones you and Kenji-Girl have? I really don't want to try and experiment with links and take the change of messing something up.

----HoennMaster 09:28, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Go to your userpage, in the URL bar add /NAME (Just replace NAME with the name you want for the sub-page) then edit the non-existent page. Just remember that editing user sub-pages does count to the 3 userspace edits per day limit. - Kogoro | Talk to me | 09:34, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean limit? What is userspace?

----HoennMaster 10:06, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

There is a limit of how many times you can edit your userpage and subpages (or even, in rare circumstances, others' pages) a day. The userspace includes your page, and any of your subpages. This includes the smallest edits, from adding a period to the end of a sentence, to the largest edits, from creating a whole new page. People like TTEchidna don't have a limit, because dey are awesome like that. Thankfully, the limit does not include any talk pages, even your own talk pages. However, don't go overboard and make it a blog. Gligar 14:19, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it does not only include your main page and subpages, but any other page in the userspace, even if it doesn't belong to you (even though editing pages that aren't yours is not allowed.) MoldyOrange 14:26, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Generation IV in LOPBG

Due to my userspace limit already being over, I have taken the liberty of completing the Generation IV chart in "List of Pokémon by game". It is complete and currently resides in the bottom of the Sandbox. The page is now officially complete and ready for the mainspace once you add Generation IV. Thank you. Gligar 14:19, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

You are adding information to a userspace page that will make it to the mainspace when it is complete, that is allowed and does not count towards your total. MoldyOrange 14:28, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I wish I'd known that earlier. Anyway, it's finished now. Gligar 15:13, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Not quite. You've got a few listed... off. For example, in Pt, Gligar's no longer a dongler, while Magmar and Electabuzz are in the wild. TTEchidna 16:14, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
You're right. I kind of assumed for some of Platinum's, since some of the Pokémon articles only say "Trade" because they haven't been updated. I'll take a look at Serebii. Gligar 18:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Serebii claims to have a complete location list, but I don't see one. The only way I see is manually checking all their pages. I've made a few dongle/version-exclusive edits. Gligar 19:27, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
From what I've seen he does, on the individual pages. TTEchidna 22:02, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
The only way I see is manually checking all their pages. Or were you implying something else? Gligar 22:29, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, that's what I meant, he doesn't have a list of all 493 with their Pt locations, but has the Pt locations in their pages. If it's what you meant originally then yes I agree. TTEchidna 22:55, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
So is it ready for mainspace? Every other minor detail that we missed can be fixed later by other users. Gligar 22:58, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I would say, very possibly so. I'd need to set things up. TTEchidna 00:13, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I think somebody forgot to do something... Gligar 22:50, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Not forgot, just haven't gotten around to it. TTEchidna 23:00, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Assist

Could you somehow fix this image of Eusine's sprite? it isn't working. Image Removed MoldyOrange 16:27, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

I have no idea what's wrong with it... It's just not there. Give it a while, if you just noticed it gone, it might just be a glitch that'll correct itself. Either way, ew jpg sprite. Can we fix that? TTEchidna 16:43, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know, But I think the problem is the accented I; Images don't work when there are weird characters, which include ♀ and ♂. I doubt it has worked for the past five months since Mesenquima uploaded it. MoldyOrange 16:57, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
That could also be a problem; we had one with the ???-type Arceus a while ago. TTEchidna 22:01, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Move Variations

Well, I was looking at the tables and I thought that we should have seperate rows for Physical and Special moves. Now, I'm not too good with tables so I had a play around and it came to this:

Variations on the move Blizzard
  Blizzard | Focus Blast
  Gunk Shot

What do you think? I mean, we could add other columns to it if needs be. At the moment, it just looks a little clumped, especially with moves with many variations (Hyper Beam, Quick Attack, Swift etc.). Just an idea... TESHIGIGAS 22:17, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Looks pretty nice, actually. Just change it so that it's colspan=2'd. TTEchidna 22:19, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. Also, does the width of the table matter? I mean, how many moves would we put in one one row before starting another? Variations like Blizzard are easy, but with Quick Attack etc., it get's harder. TESHIGIGAS 22:52, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't exceed about 500px. TTEchidna 23:43, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, I started, went to bed and... "omg" it was done in the morning. So I thought I'd let you know. TESHIGIGAS 16:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

TTEchidna/epnum

TTE, shouldn't this template of yours use {{g|anime}} instead of [[Pokémon Anime]] on it? Isn't using the shortlinks policy? (I asked this on the template's talk page, but I'm not sure if that page will make the "new messages" bar appear. - Kogoro | Talk to me | 23:50, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Policy unless there's a reason otherwise. There's not much difference between the g template and typing it out. The LTs are mostly for stuff like moves. TTEchidna 01:04, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Using Unicode minus

What do you think of using the Unicode minus character instead of hyphens where appropriate—for instance, in TCG resistances? Since Bulbapedia implements UTF-8, it would be a shame to not make use of it. It can be copy-pasted directly (−), or an editor can type − in the source. It seems to me that this would be similar to the acute é or em dashes. And visually, it does make a difference: compare (2 + 3 - 5) to (2 + 3 − 5). IIMarckus 04:06, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Hrm... well, the regular dash (-) works in mathematical calculations, while I'm unsure if that minus does. So... I dunno. It seems like going a little overboard...
weakness resistance retreat cost
    -30
weakness resistance retreat cost
    −30
Besides... it looks like an endash (–) when smaller... The TCG cards used the exact font, so I think we oughta keep the -. TTEchidna 05:00, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I can buy that. IIMarckus 05:03, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

Remember yesterday on Aim? Well, while we were talking, I lost my internet AND phone connection. The company had technical difficulties, for no one was picking up the calls when my dad called them. So I didn't just ditch you for no reason...yeah.--Tavisource 22:41, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

History Heading

On main pages for main characters pokémon there was a heading like the above saying history: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=May%27s_Wartortle&diff=prev&oldid=512319

However Jmath is removing these: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=May%27s_Wartortle&diff=next&oldid=512319

Is this okay, or should we put them back?

----HoennMaster 02:13, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Sometimes they need them, sometimes they don't. Jmath and anyone else should make sure to know this and to determine it based on the rest of the page. TTEchidna 02:14, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
As in, they need 'em if the first section is too long. In instances like May's Wartortle, it damn well is! TTEchidna 02:18, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey TTE

Did you see the e-mail I sent you? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 02:23, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Tuber

I was wondering for a while with an issue over the male tuber. Here's what I wrote: Is there a male tuber for FR/LG? If not, we can add to trivia that though it doesn't appear for FR/LG, it does appear in Sis and Bro...

Anyway, do you know? If not, we can also edit the sprite of Sis and Bro and FR/LG to say that this is the male Tuber. ht14 03:06, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

I dunno, actually, if there's a male tuber programmed into FRLG. Ask on the forums. TTEchidna 03:10, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok, but does it exist? That's what I'm wondering....also, why in Mystery Dungeon do Staryu/mie blink? I don't get that... ht14 03:15, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
That's what I meant. The people on the forums might know... TTEchidna 03:35, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I got my answer. Thanks. Also, edit war at talk page...ht14 22:34, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Never mind. You're probably not on. Thanks anyhow. It should be over by the time you're on. ht14 22:37, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Original Series and Advanced Generation Episode Lists

So I just saw the AG episode list expanded to split the two Deoxys episodes, but I believe you mentioned something about changing the Original Series episode list after Episode 38? What changes? I only say the two Christmas episodes added, but are there any number changes?

----HoennMaster 03:39, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

No, we're not changing the numbers. I decided, HHJ and SWO stay as specials, but are placed in canon order on the list. TTEchidna 03:42, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok, one last question. I was putting the favorite episode tags onto my profile, and the picture for DP038 won't work. I copied and pasted the title, and it won't work. It is the only pci I'm having problems with.

----HoennMaster 04:14, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Someone uploaded it with exclamation points, which screw up for some. TTEchidna 04:19, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

It's doing that for DP076 as well.

----HoennMaster 04:27, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Exclamation points. Again. Sigh. Can you help a guy out by making a list of files with !'s and ?'s in them? TTEchidna 04:29, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

I think I found them all:

Ouch. Uhm... wanna help by saving them and reuploading them as their epicode, then marking the duplicate for deletion? There's no way to move images, so we gotta just delete them. TTEchidna 05:15, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't know know how to save and upload them...

Ok so I did the DP episodes, but It said I was creating duplicates of the pictures, is that ok? I couldn't see another way to do it.

Or should it not be learned compared to the other attacks?~Ποκεμανιακα0β 02:47, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Depends, is accuracy, power, or effect percentage important? Do you plan on having a Wide Lens on the Pokémon? Is it a Machamp with No Guard? TTEchidna 02:48, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion

You know how most wikis (including ours) often have a "This Week's Featured Article" thing? How about we do a "This Month's Featured Stub" to encorage the expansion of undederveloped arcticles? --Manga-in-a-bottle 05:44, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Good plan, but I dunno how we'd pick it... TTEchidna 05:46, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Just make it random, I guess --Manga-in-a-bottle 05:49, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Only thing is, a featured stub probably wouldn't be a stub for the whole month. It sounds like a really fun way to all work on stubs though, and with enough attention, it could go pretty fast... random sounds pretty good, I wonder if there's a way to system-generate a random list of only stub articles? Sort of like Special:Random. As stubs get filled out, they lose stub status, become full articles, and the next random stub jumps to the front page. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:36, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Me like. This is a good idea. (By the way, you noticed how MIAB said that most wikis (including ours) often have a "This Week's Featured Article" thing...? Well, it's almost two months since Brock... We keep contradicting our own words...) --electAbuzzzz 09:38, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Maybe not do it "of the month" but having an article that needs work on the front page until it is looking shiny would be a good way to encourage the wiki magic. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 19:59, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Who wants to randomly decide one, or should I? TTEchidna 20:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
If you pick, we should consolidate first. I have made some stubs that I am working on getting information for, and I would like only people who know what they are doing touching the article. I don't want to have to constantly fix something that would have not been a problem if it wasn't the "featured" one. MoldyOrange 21:28, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
May I suggest Pokémon Live!? It's a shame this is still a stub... If you want something more mainstream to begin with, one of the location stubs would probably be a good choice. --electAbuzzzz 14:14, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Bulbapedia: Shortcuts

Hey TTE, do you think we should have shortcuts for Nominations for administratorship & Featured article candidates? I have noticed many other other Bulbapedia: namespace areas do have shortcuts, such as the Manual of style having MOS and BP:MOS. I'm more than willing to make the redirects if you feel they would be useful. - Kogoro | Talk to me | 06:49, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

On the subject; it mentions in the blocking policy that "contaminated history should also be deleted if possible". Is there a "normal" way to delete the history? (My method is to delete the page, then restore all but the edits in question.) -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 01:47, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
It's the only way I know how to. Tedious for a page with a bazillion edits... but we just hope they don't hit those. TTEchidna 04:24, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Check-off the top of the list, scroll to the bottom, and hold Shift while clicking the bottom of the list. That'll select everything. Then you just de-select the problem edits.
I'm more bothered by having to delete and un-delete whole pages just to do it, but I don't see much else as far as options. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 05:55, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Sprites and stuff..

With things like Event Pokémon lists, and other list prior to Generation IV.. Which sprite is more preferable?

  • The latest
  • The sprite of that generation

I'm thinking the latter, due to it representing that generation. Just wanting a second opinion on this one, since it isn't mentioned in the manual of style... Gywall(Talk) 15:07, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for making your page closer to archiving...

But I was wondering if this table would work for the PMD locations:

Floor Pokémon
B1F

Shellder

Kabuto

Shellos

Corsola
B2F
B3F
B4F
Pit

Zubat

Koffing

I mean, when people check out PMD locations...they want to know which Pokemon are on each floor, right? Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 05:11, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Looks fine to me. TTEchidna 05:14, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know...That format could cause gaps when it comes to floors that both introduce new Pokémon and carry over ones from a previous floor. Take Thunderwave Cave for example. In that format, there'd be a gap on floors 1 and 2 above Voltorb (who appears only on floors 3 through 5), while Rattata/Nidoran♀/Poochyena sits comfortably in the first three floors over Elekid/Plusle/Minun on the final two. The gaps and staggering would only get worse the deeper one gets into the game. --Shiningpikablu252 15:48, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm... TTEchidna 00:58, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Could you change my user name?

I'd like you to change my user name to "Chocolate", and here's why:

My current user name is misleading. I mean, the word "baby". A baby is a very young person, and it can also be used to describe a hot girl. I'm neither. And the "G", well, it's supposed to stand for "gangsta", so my name means either "young gangsta" or "female gangsta", which I'm not any of those.

A name like "Chocolate" is much better IMO. No, I'm not made outta chocolate, but I just like that name WAY better.

So, could you please change it? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 20:20, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Not if you're an admin. You have to be a bureaucrat, since bureaucrats are admins who can also change user names and give and take away user rights. --Chocolate (talk to me) 01:05, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I'd imagine technically you can, being an admin... but it'd be difficult. TTEchidna 01:09, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Redirects

I thought I should ask before trying anything. Do you think that we should have redirects to the manga and anime? Like instead of someone needing to type in 'DP001', they could type in 'Following a Maidens Voyage!' and get to the same page. The same applies w/ the manga. I think it would help users that dont know the exact episode number, but I dunno. What do you think?--RexRacer -talk 01:16, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Ideally, redirects should be made as soon as we get the dub title... TTEchidna 01:21, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Quick Questions

Sorry to bother you again, but I have two questions. First, is there an easy way to find out what pages we have created? Also, how do you add the show/hide tags to my user tags list?

----HoennMaster 06:03, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Easy way? Eh, not really. Find the bold, capital N's on your contribs page. That's it.
And just look at my page's coding to find that one out. Just don't screw with it. TTEchidna 06:11, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok, so I got them on my user tag bar...but now my content list is in the user tag box as well. If you don't know how to fix that, do you know someone who does? Sorry for these questions, this si the first time I've delath with these kinds of things.

----HoennMaster 06:40, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Uhm... you should close the invisible table you made. TTEchidna 06:49, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Problem is, how do I know what to take out to do that? Sorry, I'm very....well dumb when it comes to this.

----HoennMaster 06:53, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Just a little reminder: go to User:TTEchidna/PartyUpdate to tell me which of those new ones you like... or even the old one if you so prefer. TTEchidna 06:51, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Pic on EP099

I came across this user named Jmath who is constantly changing my contributions to EP099 based on what he thinks is true, and he thinks that the pic of a deleted scene from that particular episode i uploaded on that page is "unnecessary" and an "extra pic" by his standards. Bulbapedia is a website created by group effort, right? Why can't I put my correct contributions without anyone else like him interfering? --Hmdwgf 15:34, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Get a better quality pic for the page and then keep it. Jmath 19:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Either way, edit warring isn't a good thing to do. I will agree that the picture needs some better quality (hey, we do have a Japanese wiki, why not ask if anyone there has the DVD that includes that episode? Tavi can do it...) but constantly reverting it, both of you, is a damned bad idea. Jmath, you should know this, since you were previously blocked for it. TTEchidna 19:55, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Route Pictures

How do I scan pictures of the different routes from guidebooks and upload them to Bulbapedia, but have them look perfect like the ones already here on the site?

--KantoLegend 21:06, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

What, you mean like Route 34? Screw scanning, that's ripped right from the game. TTEchidna 21:22, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I think he means like the Sinnoh Routes...those are from the guidebooks.

----HoennMaster 21:33, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, I do believe there must be some way to rip those from the game, too. How, beats me, but someone's gotta be developing something to reverse-engineer the DS games. TTEchidna 21:37, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

--- File:Fullmoon_Island.png I dont think Sinnoh routes can be ripped. They're partially 3D for one thing. Shots from guidebooks tend to have problems with edges of pages too. I made some locations myself using RPGXP.

Looks good to me, if that's from the game... I know someone used AdvanceMap to make a FRLG version of Route 219. TTEchidna 20:18, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it's Fullmoon Island. I'll probably end up doing all the Sinnoh maps eventually.--Cadellin 09:40, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
But is it from the game? It seems to actually... be from the game, though I know better from the past revisions (which look tiled and therefore not Gen-IV-like). Was it AdvanceMap'd? TTEchidna 22:38, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Restore please

Please restore Template:Bad Picture Section. Moldy orange deleted it because he does not know the difference between "article" and "section", even though the difference is obvious. --Chocolate 00:26, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

we dont need two templates for the same thing. a section is a part of an article. the original is fine. -- MAGNEDETH 00:32, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
But if we just put {{Bad Picture}} at the top when there's more than one picture in the article, how're people gonna know which one we're referring to? --Chocolate 00:34, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
We'll deal with it. There's no need for a separate template for this. TTEchidna 04:00, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
We'll deal with it? How? Articles aren't the same as sections. --Chocolate 20:29, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
If it really doesn't look obvious, just point out the specific one in the talk page. Problem solved. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:31, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Edit the template to make it possible to include an image name, then. --Chocolate 20:32, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
If we would just add an image name, then we can jusdt put the bad image template on the image's archive page...that will appear if a user were to click on the image here. Problem solved, add the bad image template to the image on the archives side. MoldyOrange 21:11, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
That's a good way to solve it. TTEchidna 22:41, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Sockpuppet Suspicion

I suspect that the user Miley Cyrus is a sockpuppet created by Mileycyrus to get around userspace restrictions (the user rights long shows Mileycyrus as having been put under "abuse"). An e-mail address check showed the two as using Hotmail accounts both being led with what I suspect as Chinese usernames. Is it possible to get a further check on these two accounts to see whether my suspicion is right? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 16:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Bleh. Wonderful. Yeh, the first Miley earned the "Abuse" tag after making 28 edits in one day, and ignoring four warnings. RexRacer pointed out that even though Miley never responded to the warnings, he/she did "learn" from the one time Rex mentioned a better way to add userboxes, so I think he/she was just willfully ignoring the warnings.
If this one turns out to be a sockpuppet (which seems like a pretty obvious "yes"), should any additional punishment be given to the original account? -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:26, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Block for at least a week. TTEchidna 17:56, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Template:Links/4

The page is admin-only, and I want to edit. Please change this:

* [http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/{{{pokefordex}}} On Smogon Pokédex]

to this:

* [http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/{{lc:{{{name}}}}} On Smogon Pokédex]

That should fix the Smogon links. This only affects the latest generation. --Raijinili 04:29, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

What about Nidoran♀/♂? TTEchidna 05:50, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Those are two cases out of hundreds. I'll just do those manually. Will you fix the Generation 4 links? --Raijinili 17:16, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

It's horrible, and maybe not correct at the moment, but unless you want to make new variables for the generation 1 'mon, this is probably the best solution. Well, you can also ask them to redirect their URLs, but that's something I can't do anything about. --Raijinili 17:57, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

I worked a bit on this (missing a math seminar I wanted to go to) so I would at least like a response, please. --Raijinili 04:12, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry. As if I know how many edits were added to my page since I checked it last. This is what happens when everyone comes to me. Anyway, I'll change it. TTEchidna 04:20, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, also... um. Links/4 isn't the only one... you just redid Template:Links/1... TTEchidna 04:29, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
I understand that you'd probably missed the edit, but I had to do SOMETHING to get your attention (well, technically you can check the edit history, but...)
I know I redid Links/1. And I only just realized that there's yet another 'mon with a special character. Two, in fact. Mr. Mime and its preevo. However, I've discovered that Marriland works with number, so I'm going to give you more code. If it matters, the switch statements don't need to go into generations which don't have the specific 'mon which are being switched on. --Raijinili 05:06, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

The links templates are below. I standardized a few that I could to use number only, reducing the computation time slightly. --Raijinili 06:22, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Links/1

Edited for Mr. Mime. Also, Legendary Pokémon, Veekun, Marriland, and UPokeCenter (needs to be tested after implementation) now use number rather than names.

Links/2

Only change Links/2 if you care about consistency, as there are no special cases for this one.

Links/3

Same as above: it doesn't matter.

Links/4

Needs testing for Mime Jr. since it has a space.

RE: Invitation

No, it's not a friend list, it's on the same page as the friend list, but it's something else that cannot be done on the forums...and plus, most of those people don't have an account on the forums...that's also kinda why I chose the people that I chose...so, yeah...that's it...I'm done anyways....and HA! I knew you were going to say something about this!--Tavisource 05:38, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

If Bulbapedia is going to be successful, we must first work as a team. This page helps unite people on Bulbapedia so more people can be working together to finish tasks. You just weren't thinking of the big picture...does or view change now?...just a little?--Tavisource 05:53, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
We are already working together. We undo vandal edits and the admins block em. We don't need user pages liek that. Oh, why don't we make a porject called Bulbapedia Project Teamwork? Jeez... Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links 05:55, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

...funny...but seriously, in a way that would take forever to explain, this would decrease some of the user space edits. But mainly, the new people won't know how to work together if they don't first know how to work properly. They must first make Bulbafriends that could help them out...it's to organize things. And plus, this team thing wasn't my idea, yes, I created it, but not my idea. The original ideas was to create hundreds of user space pages...you don't want that, right? And at least this idea is better than other people who make their friend lists in the user space. And it doesn't matter anyways, there's no rule saying I cannot. If they come with a rule that we can't have friends and groups, then I'll remove it.--Tavisource 05:58, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

i joined BP and edited poorly. after being yelled at to do this and that, i learned this and that. i dont see a need to create friend groups or whatever. however, im giving TTE final say in this. -- MAGNEDETH 22:26, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Help with time coding

Can you help me a bit so I can make the time coding so that my userpage's time-encoded table of changing Pokémon (intended to change every second) actually does. It appears to only change Pokémon when I preview it. Did I do something wrong, because I used your PotD as basis.

By the way, if you consider this stealing from your PotD template, I'll gladly remove the table. Gligar 22:28, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

If you can, reply on my talk page ("Snazzle" on my signature). Otherwise, I give you my permission to edit my userpage ("Frazzle" on my signature) --as long as the color matches well with the sprite (i.e. a red background in Cyndaquil's cell, yellow in Volt Absorb's, ect.). ...well. Um. What's Arcanine's say? Or Unown? It'd actually help to see what the rest of the book says regarding the others. TTEchidna 00:37, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, Arcanine's just says Legendary Pokémon, but that's not saying it's A LEGENDARY POKÉMON, That's just what it's called. As you can see above in the picture:
  • Rotom
  • Plasma Pokémon
  • Legendary Pokémon

Or that Kyogre is:

  • Kyogre
  • Sea Basin Pokémon
  • Legendary Pokémon

Arcanine is just

  • Arcanine
  • Legendary Pokémon

Legendary Pokémon describes Arcanine only like Renegade Pokémon describes Giratina~Ποκεμανιακα0β 01:18, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

That's quite interesting. Care to show a link for Arcanine's pic? ht14 01:24, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
I realize that Arcanine's description as Legendary is just the same as Giratina's as Renegade. That's the point I was trying to make. And Unown's classification according to this would be very nice, too, since Rotom's breeding habits are comparable to Porygon's, while Unown's are comparable to Mew's. TTEchidna 01:36, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok then. An evolution of Rotom could EASILY disprove Legendary status. ht14 01:38, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Yeah. Maybe now we can finally focus on the page that started the entire scuffle. It was primarily over which userspace the page belonged in (the page itself is a poll about whether or not Rotom is a legendary; Rotom (Pokémon) and Legendary Pokémon were protected when the scuffle began to get heated), although a small part of it was over whether or not a comment I'd posted with my vote should stay or not. --Shiningpikablu252 22:48, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

The usertags {{User Beauty Master}}, {{User Contest Master}}, {{User Super Contest Master}}, {{User Cool Master}}, {{User Cute Master}}, {{User Smart Master}}, and {{User Tough Master}} all have categories wrapped in <includeonly> tags; however, for some odd reason, they're still considered to be part of the usergroup categories included within the <includeonly> coding (which the coding should be keeping them out of), no matter how much I try to get them off! You're the master template hacker, do you think you can fix it, or should I go to Zhen Lin on this issue? --Shiningpikablu252 16:06, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

I found the problem. It may be in the include only, but for the change demonstration (I'll use this as an example: Template:User Contest Master). The change example (the demonstration on how they want it changed from May to Dawn) uses the template itself, when it should just be the coding for what the change should be. when the template is used, it puts the include only category because the template is included in the page instead of what it should be, the coding. Hopefully, if it is changed, the problem would be solved. Do you understand my thinking? MaverickNate 16:11, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
A solution's been found. Sorry to have pestered you like this. --Shiningpikablu252 16:25, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
It's fine, it's fine. TTEchidna 23:16, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Poke

By the way, have you tried adding a CAPTCHA to edits which have external links? --Raijinili 21:25, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Ummmm... Archaic would be the one to talk to. TTEchidna 23:17, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, what about the links templates? They're done. --Raijinili 01:44, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Eh? Wha who when? As in updating them? I swear Mags said he'd do it. TTEchidna 02:26, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
no i didnt! thanks for throwing me under the bus. -- MAGNEDETH 02:32, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
You totally did... TTEchidna 02:47, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
i said, via an external conversation, if you asked me to, i would. but you didnt ask me to. -- MAGNEDETH 02:49, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Anyway, I linked to my modifications in this section's title, so all that needs to be done is pasting, making sure not to lose the category lines. --Raijinili 03:05, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, somebody do it. --Raijinili 12:52, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Alt sprites

I was thinking: Because Crystal has a page, that we create sprites for her Pokémon, SINCE THEY HAVE A PLACE. What do u think? Should Tavis create them?--KukiTalk 02:28, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

To add to that, should we also make sprites for Pokémon with their anime colours? Chocolate 02:30, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

R u gonna answer us?--KukiTalk 02:48, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

You do know I have a life outside of Bulbapedia. Anyway, depends on what you mean by "create". How different are they from regulars? As for anime coloration... don't even fricking go there. TTEchidna 06:18, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Read the descriptions we had\ve on the need to be created section--KukiTalk 13:02, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Ahem...Kuki, I told you I am NOT going to make Crystal's Pokémon's sprites AND the alt color Pokémon...we have came to this conclusion at the forums and many of them were admins of Bulbapedia, so I recon you stop worrying about this and leave TTE out of this.--Tavisource 06:19, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

HAY U

I've been thinking, and... I think you should revoke my adminship. At least temporarily. --((Marton imos)) 09:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Any particular reason? Planning to let lots of other people use your account, etc... >.< -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
What he said. TTEchidna 19:16, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I haven't been on for a while, and will only be on intermittently for some time to come (old laptop self-destructed, new one is allergic to the university network). If Electabuzz and Takoto didn't get adminship because they couldn't be on, why should I? --((Marton imos)) 20:41, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Not the same thing. I'm leaving for half a year, and barely made serious edits in two months. With Takoto, the reason wasn't that exactly... --electAbuzzzz 21:00, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Ne'er mind. Laptop works now. --((Marton imos)) 01:10, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

PartyUpdate

so...... what was the decision? Gligar 15:32, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

We're going with a 3×2 table. I'm just not making the subtemplates yet because I haven't been able to find the time. TTEchidna 19:16, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
And there it is. Unveiled on the pages of all first Gym Leaders and Kokuran and Cattleya's. TTEchidna 07:18, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
So to use.. First PartyHeader template.. then PartyBody with Generation number first, then number of Pokémon for the line.. then finished with PartyFooter. Right? Gywall(Talk) 10:33, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. PartyDiv for the divider line for parties of more than three, and a second PartyBody. TTEchidna 17:27, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
My only comment is that Pokémon with an unknown ability link to Unknown (ability), which is a red link page.. Also, shouldn't the templates be protected? Gywall(Talk) 17:58, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Protection yes. And Unknown (ability) has been protected, no need to worry. TTEchidna 21:54, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
How about we redirect Unknown (ability) to ability, like we redirect -- (move) to move? Chocolate 22:41, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Eh sure. Just make sure to check frequently to see what links to it. Unlike -- (move), stuff that links to Unknown (ability) needs more data. TTEchidna 22:47, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Um...

How do you get the Userboxes collapsible AND on the right side????~Ποκεμανιακα0β 23:40, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Special coding. Have a look at my page to see how I did (hint: you need to put section headers into a table!). TTEchidna 23:45, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
I did look at your page, no idea...~Ποκεμανιακα0β 23:48, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Collapsible tables. The header is in the top box, the stuff inside in the bottom.
TTEchidna 23:51, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Time Traveler

You know how it states May had gone back in time? Well, hasn't EVERYONE have? See, Time itself, is an idea created by man, agree? Let's say it is 1:00 A.M and it is hit the exact minute of your b-day. Then, you were to fly on a plane the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation, you would have went back to a different time zone, but yet, your Birthday would still remain the same time and date even though your biological b-day has change, therefore, you are able to celebrate your b-day once more even though your biological b-day has passed and would never go back like you birth DATE had. So if you were to continue flying around and around the earth in the opposite direction of the rotation, you body would grow older, but your b-day will slow down, or possibly you could grow younger in age (time-wise). So going the opposite direction (including walking...I used flying as an example to better the example) will TECHNICALLY bring a person back in time according to how far they have gone and how much the earth has rotated...this also proves that you can never track you EXACT time and possibly date of biological birth. So this IS technically considered as time traveling. If you disagree, think about this: Time is and idea that is created by mankind. But May had not moved the opposite direction and still went through time, so I guess it's different, right?

Awesome! If you look at the history of this page, you can see that I had activated the "cloning glitch" of editing...it says I created the "new section" twice...now that is TRUE time traveling!--Tavisource 00:59, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Except for the fact that the International Date Line is in the middle of the Pacific, and whenever you go past it in the opposite direction of rotaion, it becomes the day after today (ex: if you went from the US on October 10th to Japan, when you arrive, it would be October 11th, no matter what time you left.)MaverickNate 01:03, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, but that depends on what speed you travel at...right?....I'm positive that that is how it goes.--Tavisource 01:07, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
When you croos the IDL, the date changes. So if you were to go all the way back to where you started, it would be an hour later. MaverickNate 01:09, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Let's say you DON'T cross the IDL, you would still have gone back in time for a few hours, right?--Tavisource 01:18, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
LET'S SAY THIS! The clock does not exist, the concept of days, weeks, months, years does not exist. Time would still be passing by. Going through the time zone just changes what the clock says and where the sun or moon is. It doesn't mean one goes back in time. True going back in time is if you went back in time and saved your grandaddy from dying of cancer.~Ποκεμανιακα0β 01:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
YAY! P102, I think you understand the concept. Time is not a real thing, is what you are trying to say...it is something made by man-kind. So what I said would be considered traveling through time (something man-made). Get it? So the term "Traveling through time" is incorrect.--Tavisource 01:37, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Geh...no. I think that "time" like the clock, position of the sun, light, blahblah, is fake. But actual TIME (I'm using that word) like the course of every event occurring, THAT'S REAL. I believe in the concept of Space time~Ποκεμανιακα0β 01:43, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Another e-mail...

IM me when you see this. I got another e-mail from "Kuki's mom". According to the details of it...I'm the only one who got it. -Sketch 18:32, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

IS it the one saying that she made a mistake and wants him unbanned as she has realised the hard way it makes it worse for her?? I got that too, and it said i was the only one who got it --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010
that is not the email I just got.....5 minutes ago--DCM((Nag at Me!Edits))

Can i forward it to you? --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

The scariest part? Looking for the "leader of Bulbapedia" is easy as clicking on link on the main page (conveniently we've got the EB as a link there) and then looking at me. And yet I got zippo as far as emails. TTEchidna 20:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Kuki probably had a section of contacts under "Bulbapedia" or something like that, and his mom just sent emails to the contacts--RexRacer -talk 20:20, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
He's emailed me before. TTEchidna 20:21, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

However I'm um... first. Zhen stepped down and Pie's on indefinite hiatus... so. Yeah. Me = #1. TTEchidna 20:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

OH, CONGRATULATIONS, how long has that been for, anyway, well done on all the hard work. I thought Zhen was still numero uno so im guessing other users did as well --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

Pie and Zhen were like never on when I first joined, and TTE was the first BP user let alone admin I ever contacted--KukiTalk 20:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

I never new this Pie person but I did know Zhen, does he still come on here or has he left completely --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

But Zhen has powers you dont, for example name changes. --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

Actually, TTE does have the power to change user names. Chocolate 20:47, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Even I can rename users at this point. The whole editorial board can do it, I assume. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 21:37, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

More admin nominations to archive

Maxim and Pachirisulover12 both need their admin nominations archived. Chocolate 22:40, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

NO, Pachirisulover 12 won didnt she, Ive read through the criteria over and over and shes won, more than 10 votes, more than 2 thirds of support and she has some support from other admins, --Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010

Missions

PLEASE CAN YOU GET MY MISSION PAGES BACK I WONT REST UNTIL THEY ARE BACK!!!!! PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU!!!! Woah, if I continue thi, I'll get a sore throat!SonicPikachuThe No.1fan 17:17, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't believe that mission pages are allowed any more. As far as I recall, they were ruled to be a waste of space some time ago. And don't yell, it's very rude. Cipher (Talk) 17:22, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Please, even to bring them back for a day so I can take pics of them would be brilliant, and anyway, nobody warned me. They were deleted against my will. I spent hours on those, and a few months later... BOOM! Gone. How would you like it if someone deleted your user page, or the entire contents of your disscussion (well, I wouldn't mind that, but still.) Please, I'm begging you. SonicPikachuThe No.1fan 17:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
I would expect an administrator will be along at some point to respond. They might restore the page temporarily or they might just say "no" with it being a mission page. All I can really say to do at this point is to sit tight and wait for an admin. Cipher (Talk) 17:34, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
The point is, there were a violation of policy, as stated here: Bulbapedia:Userspace policy. Yes, it's new, but the deletion of such things began at the beginning of summer with the locking of the user pages, and the fact that they (riddles/missions/constant userpage editting) crashed the server pretty badly. Junk = bad. Whether they'll let you snapshot them is up to the Ed board, or just TTE, but still, it was your folly for making them in the first place? Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 17:40, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Hey, no one told me they were going to get deleted. I mean, it's not my fault that no one told me that they were taking up so much space they were going to get deleted. And I should have been told. Once again, how would you like it if you spent hours on a page, or a project or something, to have it being deleted without your permission? Exactly.SonicPikachuThe No.1fan 17:50, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
And where have you been in all the months between when they were deleted and now? We began "the purge" long ago under Zhen's directive, and the process took a long time, so you would have had a fair chance to save them then. Besides, what would you do with them? You can't re-add them, because of the new policies, so what's the point? I've lost whole fanfics when my computer crashed, but I didn't whine about it; I just started another. --((Marton imos)) 00:25, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Getting pics of it? What are you possibly going to do with them anyways, I see no important point, but I do understand that you want a copy of as reference since you worked so hard.--Tavisource 00:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Either me or another admin may be able to temporarily restore them, and save them for you. I can actually dig into the deleted revisions and copy the pages for you without even restoring them, if you'd like me to just e-mail the pages to you or something. Might not have time to do that just yet, however. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:18, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

About the image of DP100

For all I know, the image has spoiler of the episode, and, for all I know, it cannot stay here. I deleted the image of the episode, but the edit was undone, and I don't want edit wars. Kogoro told me that you left it there, and I don't understand why if it has spoilers. --Nick., something to say? 03:44, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Well as I've not seen DP100 in its entirety yet, I dunno if there's a better picture. Perhaps Grotle with Torterra though? TTEchidna 03:45, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
How about either of this? I just thought that crying grotle is so cute...--DUSKevz 03:57, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Eh... it's cute, but doesn't seem... relevant to the episode... How early did the evolution happen anyway? TTEchidna 03:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Well... according YouTube (XD) it was in the 2nd part... 8 minutes from the beginning of the episode, I think. --Nick., something to say? 04:04, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Hm. TTEchidna 04:05, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
If you're referring for the time, its in the mid of the episode..anyway about the pic, I was just kidding. I had another pic but it's like this... and I think it seems to be relevant..of some sort...--DUSKevz 04:08, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Eh... well, talkpage it at Talk:DP100. It'd be best there. TTEchidna 04:09, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Regirock/Registeel

As you know, Brandon's Regice has an article. However, I think we should create articles for Registeel and Regirock since even though Regice was the one Ash defeated, all three of them got equal screentime. Is that ok? --HoennMaster 04:20, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Ehhhh... If you think them to be notable enough. If anything we could combine them into an article. TTEchidna 04:22, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Wouldn't that be kind of confusing, and a long title though? --HoennMaster 04:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

That's the only problem I see. TTEchidna 04:31, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Well I copied Regice's article and have the articles ready to be created if that is what you want. They look minimal, but people will giveupdate it as soon as it is created. I just need approval. --HoennMaster 04:47, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Copying isn't the best idea... TTEchidna 04:49, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry that came out wrong. I meant copied the format such as the side table. Almost everything else was written by me. --HoennMaster 04:51, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Ah. TTEchidna 04:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

So should we create the articles, see how much they get improved and later decide if they should be merged? --HoennMaster 04:56, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Forums. That I'd say would be best. TTEchidna 05:26, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean by forums? --HoennMaster 05:36, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

The BMGf! TTEchidna 05:38, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I meant what about the forums? --HoennMaster 05:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Maybe he means he want you to make topic on the BGMf and then discuss it there with the other users.--DUSKevz 05:46, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

So is there anyway that I can basically save the data I have made for these artciles if they are approved? I'd hate to lose all my work and not get credit for creating the articles if they are approved. --HoennMaster 06:15, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Article subpage, sandbox, userpage subpage (yes, they have a use besides personal stuff). Don't worry too much about being the one to create the article. People probably only look at that to see which idiot created the article they hate so much. --Raijinili 06:47, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

About the email I sent you

Any news? I think I'd like to work on template requests. --Raijinili 04:44, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Which email? TTEchidna 04:51, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
The PM through Bulbapedia's "Email this user" link. The one with the suggestion about having separate pages for different issues so that issues which don't pertain to specific admins is available on a common page. --Raijinili 05:08, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Ah that one... Well we haven't had the time to discuss it yet. TTEchidna 05:25, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Species

You said that there is a reason for some things not being rowspan'd. So, what is that reason? Chocolate 13:19, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Because it's a sortable table. You rowspan it, it might as well not be sortable. And it's only sortable so as to let the Pokémon with the same species name be close to each other. TTEchidna 19:50, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
