CP6

Only reprints are ever redirected to their original article. If the card features any gameplay-differing differences, then it is considered a brand new card. If the card plays the same as its retro print, then it should be redirected to the Original Era card, as it is only then considered a reprint. ^Maverick_Nate 20:59, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

All the articles you've created so far are fine. Kakuna has a different attack effect for Stiffen, causing the attack to play differently. Mew has an Ability instead of a Pokémon Power, which makes the Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary Mew interact with cards like Garbodor while the Original Era Mew would not. Koffing is Psychic type and not Grass type, making it interact with different cards' Weaknesses and Resistances. Charmeleon's attack damages are different. Honestly I'm expecting there to be far fewer exact reprints than brand new cards. I was actually pretty surprised when I looked at Caterpie and realized they were the same. ^Maverick_Nate 21:13, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

So apparently, only Caterpie and Weedle are exact reprints. I have make a mistake on Hitmonchan (Expansion Pack 20th 60) and realized that they are two different cards, because of the HP and attack damages. TCG vs tt template

So, while I understand the uses of when we link a Ppkémon to its TCG card page when talking about the card name, but can you explain this edit ? I would like to know why we shouldn't use the tt template instead, it makes it read as Search your deck for a card that evolves from this Pokémon which is more than accurate. A card that evolves from Vulpix won't only evolve from the specific EX Hidden Legends Vulpix, but any card printed with the name Vulpix. Thus, that reference isn't only talking about that specific card and is linked accordingly. ^Maverick_Nate 01:21, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

adding merchandise

Find the appropriate Series of merchandise it belongs to, along with any relevant news stories, tweets, and images on Bulbanews and Archives. Post it chronologically with all of those links on the merchandise page, with a paragraph or two that includes all there is to know about the products and any exclusive merch inside them, written in such a way that makes the prose for that section distinct from the ones before it. (That page for this set of tins would be this one.) Give the section any relevant subsections like Promo cards and Product images. ^Maverick_Nate 01:28, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

You're probably working on this at the very moment, but just to let you know, you forgot a "|" after the line | style="display:none;" |* and so for every line after a 3rd consecutive print (so 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, etc.) MannedTooth (Talk) 20:32, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Viewing articles in a cross-section of categories

Hey man, been awhile. I just started a desk job where I have a fair amount of down time, so I figure I'll do a little work in my free time. Anyway, quick question that I should know the answer to: is there anywhere I can put in two or more categories and see all the article that are in both/all of said categories? Quick question!

Hi! I'm fairly new here, and while flipping through random pages to look for things that need editing, I noticed that the image we have for EX Legend Maker Aron has some sort of funky scuff mark (maybe pen?) near the 20 for Headbutt's damage. Is there a way we could get a better image? Is there someone else I should notify to get a better picture? (If I had the card I would scan it myself but alas...) Evolutions

I mean, I don't want to direct traffic to the TCG without your consent :P ..but I knew about the hatnote, which I think is just fine for those who type in "Evolution" and expect to land at the TCG expansion. And it's really hard for me to imagine how someone typing in "Evolutions" is that much more likely to look for the concept rather than the expansion that a hatnote is the way to go. I was actually torn between a disambiguation and a redirect to the TCG (and another hatnote there). So, are you really sure? Or is there maybe something more to it, something I'm missing? SM001 Sun & Moon

Hi. Just wondering if I'm good to go or would you want to upload the images before I do the edits. Just to inform you, I have already done ALL the Pokémon (excluding Trainer/GX/Rare Secret/Rare Ultra/Hyper Rare), all I need is to press submit for all of them. And for Cosmog, Cosmoem, and Eevee having the Collection Sun and Collection Moon Pokédex entries differences and the English entries having use the Pokémon Sun Dex entries. Should I put as "Sun & Moon/Collection Sun prints" or "Sun & Moon print"? I won't be getting to scans anytime soon, so they are good to go as is. Change all instances to "their" since that is what is written as the cardtext now. Follow the precedence listed on Slurpuff (Generations RC20); list "Pokédex entry (Sun & Moon print)" and "Pokédex entry (Collection Moon print)". ^Maverick_Nate 17:32, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

The last time I updated the Full Art card page, I added the recent UR Double Colorless Energy from SM1+ to the list, however, first, I don't know if it is supposed to be considered a Full Art and second, if it is, I'm guessing the template has to be updated (or there's a way to do it and I don't know) cause I can't make it to show the entry for the card properly (namely, it shows the fire energy symbol by default instead of the colorless energy symbol after the 'E'). Sun & Moon Expansion 3

If it's okay with you, I have made a page about To Have Seen The Battle Rainbow/Darkness That Consumes Light. There was a picture with the card packs, with one featuring Ho-Oh, the other featuring Necrozma. It also shows the release date for its debut in Japan, along with the number 150. I'm not sure if that's the total amount of the cards in the set.

Regarding TCG cards that have different effects in different languages

TFG conditions.

Not sure if it's good idea to link Duel figures to that article, since paralysis works differently than in TFG (for reference, it now always chooses the smallest non-miss piece and turns it into Miss; this will affect all instances of that piece like the four dodges on Metagross). Looking at it, I think a separate page at Special Conditions (Duel) would be better suited for this situation. Otherwise, I'm not the person taking charge of this side game, given that I haven't ever played it, I'm simply filling in the jname and jtrans for attacks and Abilities. It may be worth asking MisterE13 for his opinion, as he is the user taking charge of this side game. That being said, if you could add the jname and jtrans for Dodge and Miss going forward, I would appreciate it. Pokémon Legend image link

I noticed on this page that most if not all pages that are noted to link to the image do not contain a link or even the image itself on their pages. Most of the card pages are from the Delta Species era of the TCG. Whereas cards such as Lugia which do use and link to the image are not listed as linking to that image. You'll want to take a look at the full list over here. Your list is only showing the 100 pages created the longest ago. All the LEGENDS appear at the bottom of the total pages, since their era is after the initial creation of all the EX Series pages. Other than that, I believe the other pages are simply using an old template that is being phased out anyway, so there shouldn't be an issue after all is said and done. ^Maverick_Nate 20:22, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Alternate prints from Best of XY

Quick question: Are the alternate prints (originally from the Best of XY) released in the Mega Powers Collection supposed to be added to their respective set pages (e.g: M-Lucario-EX FA added to Furious Fists set page) or something else like a page listing them? I was thinking we make some sort of promo page for them, but then also include them in the Additional cards list on the set pages. If any come up as alternates for black star promos, then listing them in-line with the rest of the promotional cards. Does that cover all the bases? Ok, I think I got it. I'll create a page using the same template from the Miscellaneous promo cards/Jumbo cards (I think it's the one that fits the most in this case) and also list them in their set page like you said. Just one more question for now: The official site uses the term "Yellow A Alternate cards". I was thinking about making that the page name but also mention in the text that they are commonly referred to Alternate art prints (or something along those lines). Is that okay? Do you mean the link for the National Pokédex order? I checked but don't see the link. For example Bulbasaur's tcg section has a link to the TCG list for their appearances in the TCG but the TCG page itself does not have a link back to the Bulbasaur article itself. SM4 Japanese names

Are we translating the SM4 Japanese expansions as "The Awoken Hero • The Transdimensional Beast"? I thought I asked before creating the page. I've deleted the pages. As for the set names, I've ultimately gone with Awakened Heroes and Ultradimensional Beasts. As a general rule, set names don't contain any of the articles a, an or the, unless they are linguistically forced to. Additionally, Pokémon has always officially treated the past tense of the word wake to be "awakened", and has literally never used "awoken" (Legends Awakened, Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, etc.). As for the other half, although transdimensional may(?*) be more common in English, another accurate translation for the suffix 超- is Ultra- instead of Trans-, which as the set is introducing Ultra Beasts from Ultra Space, Ultradimensional Beasts fits the brand more accurately. I know that a certain website has already hap-haphazardly translated the set names as the names you've presented, however, they are notorious for missing how the TCG connects to the Pokémon brand and franchise as a whole (that also goes for translations of individual cards in addition to set names and such). I appreciate you coming to me first before creating the pages, because we are able push forward with the best representation of the content instead of having to retrace our steps later. ^Maverick_Nate 01:04, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Shining Legends (English)

TCG Illustrator lists

This is probably not that important but thought I would ask anyways as you are the current head of the TCG. Why is it that some illustrators simply have Category lists linked for all the cards they have illustrated while others just have an in-page list? Would it not make sense to have artists who have far longer lists be given collapsible tables with lists for each card from each set they have made? I plan to expand some of the TCG illustrator lists later but I do not want to touch the pages of artists who have extensive lists before then. Frozen Fennec 12:06, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

It all came down to time and man-power. The pages that are only three sentences and then a massive list of pages were the old style, and we were in the middle of converting them into actually informative pages. Since we already had pages that were lists of illustrated cards (categories), we removed them from the information pages because there's no reason repeating such trivial bulk stats. Masakazu Fukuda and Atsuko Nishida are the style of illustrator pages we're looking for. Anything that currently still has the list of cards illustrated are outdated compared to what we are currently looking for. If you think about it, pages like Shizurow and Miki Tanaka literally say nothing about the illustrator at all. They should talk about their contribution to the card game, their personalized style, the types of times they get contracted to illustrate for not only the TCG but all promotional media, etc, etc. Pokemon.com and other official websites occasionally release content detailing the illustrators, and we should compile content like that instead a bunch of links and lists that say nothing about the person at all. ^Maverick_Nate 03:14, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

About List of Abilities

Sorry for any bother due by my changes on Pokémon Power article. The Outdated template on top of the page is confusing: it says that the article needs list of abilities. Also, Pokémon Power article, when it talk about Abilities, link to the Ability article, which states that Abilities are a renaming of Pokémon Powers. Should we delete that template and modify that statement maybe? This template Ability redirect to Pokémon Power too. Anyway, I have just noticed that the user Yuvira (talk • contribs)(previously RetroKitty) asked you about a possible List of Ability more than one year ago. Also just read a secion named "Lists (Again)" on your Talk page. Given that Yuvira seems no longer active and given that we still need a list of Abilities on Bulbapedia, is there any chance of using what I've already written, for a new section which can be integrated in the Ability article? Absolutely! Sorry, I meant to get back to you about that. If you want to edit the content of Ability (TCG) to be a page about Abilities in the card game and use what you've already written, that would be the best course of action. Thematically, card affects that affect Pokémon Powers and card effects that affect Abilities are not interchangable, so we need to keep the two concepts separate from one another. Other editors who don't understand the difference probably added those "Ability content needed" tags to the Power page. ^Maverick_Nate 23:54, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Japanese cards only in latest expansions?

Long story short, the tag that you were adding wasn't value added. We do a lot of independent reporting and research for Project TCG here. Request to change, divide, remove and renew "List of Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions"

Throughout the history of this page there has been suggestions to divide the page into List of English Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions and List of Pokémon Japanese Trading Card Game expansions.

The English primary focus has meant that Japanese info is sometimes wrong eg set icons or missing eg set abbreviations many Japanese sets are also missing. This has also led to COMPLETELY ignoring sets released in other languages meaning it is extremely difficult to find what languages had which sets. The way the page is set also means that mini-sets and promos are also ignored.

I am requesting approval to remove the "List of Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions" page and replace it with the following pages;

-List of English Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets - where most of the info will be transferred but also include promo-sets and mini-sets without increasing the sets number.

-List of Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets - where most of the info will be transferred but also include promo-sets and mini-sets without increasing the sets number.

-List of German Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

-List of French Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

Sample Set Info

Hi there, I've signed up for BP just to ask you a question about Sample Set. It seems you've made some substantial contributions to articles about some cards from this set – my interest in Sample Set comes from the fact it used e-Card ID numbers in the format M-##; this is the same ID number format assigned to the 9 cards in EX Team Magma VS Team Aqua that supported the e-Card technology. In trying to figure out why these nine cards, which use ID numbers M-01, M-03, M-04, M-15, M-16, M-23, M-24, and M-70, have so many gaps in sequence, without any apparent cards from EX Team Magma VS Team Aqua, that would fill in the gaps, I stumbled on the fact Sample Set used M-## as well.

My first thought was a-ha, case closed. However, M-04 Sample is Koffing, and M-04 TMvTA is Psyduck. The {{ga}} template is preferred over [[____(game)|____]]a direct link when the disambiguation is used. But theres no need to force usage of that template when the page names dont work with it. It is used for what it's designed to do, the purpose of link templates in general is to ease up on the code when linking to pages that have a disambiguation as exampled above, that we dont want to include in the articles text. That's games like Pokémon Ranger or Pokémon Trading Card Game. The template is designed for such situations, not to link to every game where a disambiguation isn't required, since you can just do that with a standard link, and making a template for that would be adding complexity, not removing it. 4iamking 13:32, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Mainspaced page history

Hello, I saw that you were able to merge history for two different userspace pages when mainspacing them into Terapagos (anime). Would you also be able to do the same for Kitakami Ogre Clan? User:Minibug/Kitakami Ogre Clan had been around for a while, with a very decent amount of content, when someone else directly made a mainspace page (with far less content, I might add). The content from the userspace page was eventually copy pasted into the mainspace article, but it'd be great if the article history could be restored too, to give the original authors' hard work credit. I looked into it and checked with minibug. While it is possible to do after the fact, merging page histories is best done in the moment when there are no overlapping times. Trying to do that now, in an attempt to preserve two edits, will just make the history bounce back and forth between the at-the-moment two separate pages. How to format articles for books only featured as one half of a flip book

Hello. You are listed as a contact for Project Merchandise, so I figured you could answer my question. I contacted nuva-kal, the other Project Merchandise contact, a couple days ago about this, but he hasn't responded yet. So I figured it may be good to ask you as well.

I recently found a collection of 4 Pokémon flip books published by Scholastic in 2021, and they appear to be totally undocumented on Bulbapedia. The collection as a whole is called the "Pokémon Super Special Chapter Book Collection", and each of the flip books is labelled as "Super Special Flip Book #x". With the exception of the two stories in Super Special Flip Book #4, I Choose You! and Ash Ketchum, Pokémon Detective, all of the stories in the collection appear to have been adapted specifically for this collection, and do not exist outside of it. For instance, Super Special Flip Book #1 contains "Gigantamax Clash" and "Battle for the Z-Ring", and neither of these exist as standalone books, at least as far as I could find.

So my question is this. Should separate articles be created for each individual story? For instance, Gigantamax Clash would get its own page, Battle for the Z-Ring would get its own page, etc.? Or should both of those be folded into a single article on Super Special Flip Book #1? If each story gets its own page, should separate pages also be made for the flip books themselves? For instance, should there be articles on Gigantamax Clash, Battle for the Z-Ring, and Super Special Flip Book #1? And should the collection as a whole have its own page?

I have found a standalone version of another of the flip books featured in this collection: Helena Mayer's "The Power of Three," featured in Super Special Flip Book #3. It may yet be possible that all of these books exist in standalone form, just not documented on Bulbapedia. If that does turn out to be the case, then that at least resolves the question posed by the section title. However, I am still curious about how articles about the flip books or collections of flip books should be handled.

It's after August 19, 2024, and I humbly ask if there's a possibility for me to be unblocked so I can edit the following pages:

So, I'll be very upfront here. Your block appeal is denied, and here's why. While the one year time frame offered to you has expired, your actions during that one year time frame indicate to me that you haven't used that time to learn why you were banned in the first place and improve. Your bans are in place because of edit warring by re-adding controversial edits over and over throughout the pages' histories. Even after your previous blocks expired, you went back to continue the edit warring without using the talk pages to discuss your edits with others. Bulbapedia is a collaborative space, so it begs input from everyone. You are blocked from editing the pages because the staff team finds it necessary for you to use talk pages to ask about your controverisal edits and come to a consensus with other editors on what should be changed on the pages. Honestly, until we see that happen, any future block appeals are going to be denied. You don't *need* to have access to edit those pages to make an impact on them. The talk pages are still there and open for you to contribute to.

Because I think it's valuable to offer you another time frame, any block appeals in between now and September 1, 2025 will not be considered. But, because I think it needs to be said, until we see you use talk pages to discuss edits with others, it is highly unlikely that any future block appeals will be approved. Chien-Pao ex Asian-countries stamps

Hey Nate, I've noticed the Paldea Evolved page says there are 8 stamped versions of Chien-Pao ex 061. 4 countries (HK, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore) which is fine, but 2 versions for each country (according to your edit on the PAL page). What is the difference between the 2 versions? I'm confused by the 'Regional' vs non-regional wording. I appreciate you including the ones that you added translations for. Since katakana tend to be pretty straightforward most of the time, we probably don't need to worry too much about those ones.

I do think you are onto something with Hitoyasumi though. Since Rest already used Rest, it's probably good to change anyway. We do run into some conflicts because of the card with おひるね. I looked into some of the other places ひとやすみ/一休み came up, and the one that stood out to me was Hitmonchan's Pokémon X Pokédex entry. It talks about resting after bouts of fighting. I'm wondering if Break would be fine. (I asked my Japanese colleagues and they informed me that hitoyasumi doesn't always include a nap; can also include things like a coffee break after work.) ^Maverick_Nate 04:08, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Looking at the Teddiursa card itself, and also the Category:Cards with Rest, I'm actually beginning to think that 'Nap' is a slightly misleading localization in and of itself. Those other cards cause the Pokemon using the attack to fall Asleep, so it's a little odd that an attack named Nap....doesn't. Makes me think that the original intended meaning of the attack was in fact closer to Break instead of Rest/Nap/Anything that involves Sleeping. ^Maverick_Nate 04:15, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

A few questions about merchandise and cards

I saw your name on the project Merchandise contacts and on your userpage you mentioned that you're "head of the TCG", so I have a few questions for you:

1. I'm currently adding infos on merchandise to pages of Items from the games (since that's what I'm interested in; see the Tamato Berry page for an example); do you think it'd also make sense to add a category like "Item there's merchandise of" or to create a new page listing all merchandise featuring Items for whoever (else) might be interested in that specifically?

2. I saw several cards featuring locations or items in their illustrations; do you think it'd make sense to add a category regarding that to their pages here and/or their image files over on archives? Or should I create a page listing all cards that do?

2.5. Do you know if there's any particular reason the "In the TCG" sections of location pages feature a table? (see Castelia City for an example) It has been done as a gallery for the Substitute doll, and I prefer that, to be honest (since I think it's about the images, not the information featured in those tables). (I'd also change the tables to galleries myself if that's ok?) (and I'll add some cards I noticed are missing from the current lists)

Er... I'm not sure if you're also the person to ask about the following (or who that would be), but... 3. Do you think it'd make sense to create a category and/or a new page for everything in the Pokémon games that has been inspired by the Japanese culture? There's trivia scattered all around, but I was wondering if it should be compiled somewhere for whoever might be interested? Hi! I've seen your work. It's exciting to see it! We were also working on something that might interest you for later down the road, but this content on the item pages looks good so far! I'll answer your questions in order.

1) I don't think there's necessarily a strong need for such a category on the main wiki. Maybe some sort of reference (in your userspace or something) would be good to keep track of what item pages you have already added to. That or possibly an Archives category?

2) For this question too, I don't think a main wiki category would be the best option here. Since cards are the main medium, either a reference list or an image category would be better I think, if it was something someone would want to do.

2.5) There are a few methods for the In the TCG sections floating around, but there's not really a solid style any more, so what you think works for the content you are adding would probably be fine for now.

3) This sounds like it might already exist? List of references to popular culture in Pokémon. Let me know if that isn't what you had in mind. ^Maverick_Nate 05:06, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

Pictures of pokemon advanced action cards

Hi! Sorry for the long wait on a reply. It's been busy around here.

These are the lenticular cards, right? Those would probably be really difficult to get good images of that show the images well. We typically prefer scans (but I wouldn't know how lentical scan), but having any images would be a good first step.

We *usually* try to have images uploaded by the person who makes them, for crediting purposes, but we could work something out via email (you can use the email function built into the wiki), discord (mavericknate#0674) or something else if you aren't interested in getting too deep into the working of the site. (I will say, image uploading is relatively simple and non-intensive; I can show you how to do it if that interests you.)

If it's clear there will be another episode, we should have a page on the episode. That's the practice we already do, but we also only create episode pages once the title of the episode is known. I believe those index pages are prepped as if additional episodes will exist, at least until the end of the specific series is known, in order to prevent additional work for the anime team by having to move and relink that page every week for several months.

Sorry but that's not convincing, I don't see the point in what you're doing. I created it so there would be a redirect so when a name comes up people would remember to add more information to another page about listings. The redirect isn't a separate page, and it didn't confuse anyone. Either it should exist so restore the page or there shouldn't be a section for episode 90 in the list until it's confirmed; otherwise what you're saying is completely misleading. Our readers have likely come to expect that if a link to that page exists, that means the episode has aired and more information is now available. Changing the standard all of a sudden only serves to confuse our readers. A redirect for a page that does not exist should generally only be created if the information readers expect to find exists in detail on the target page. Since we do not have the full details yet, a redirect is inappropriate. This is no reason to remove the known content we do have, and it is unreasonable and frankly uncivil to demand that it be removed and make an ultimatum in this way. Since the solution would involve realistically months of work, in this context, yes it can. Especially since the solution you are proposing misleads another separate group of people, we as staff have to determine which lesser of two evils to choose from in order to keep the least amount of people from getting confused.

Simply, according to our statistics on page popularity, the individual episode pages are much more searched for and popular than the episode staff directory pages. While we prepare for the overhaul of episode staff directories, the least problematic solution is to keep the individual episode page uncreated until we know the title. While yes, we recognize an issue with the index pages, the solution cannot be to add a series of weekly tasks to the anime editors to solve a very minor and little known problem. ^Maverick_Nate 03:38, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

The point is that the staff pages are created in advance and are titled with the expectation that they will cover a certain number of episodes. Removing the section would make the title inaccurate, and it's not reasonable to expect people to have to move that page to a new title every week as new episodes air. As I mentioned earlier, the amount of readers who click on the directory pages is extremely extremely fewer than those who would see the Episode page/redirect. Despite the attention you personally are giving this problem, I can assure you it is in fact a very minor, little problem that very few people even encounter based on the site visitor data that site staff have access to. As Editor in Chief of the largest Pokemon website on the internet, I'm not going to blow up our practices because a single reader sees a potential problem, when I've already assured that said problem is on staff's radar and will be handled as one of the next large-scale editing tasks for Project Anime. I'm glad you brought up a problem that you have with it; multiple people here have personally assured you that we see it too. Verify Jirachi coin color

Howdy! I've been researching Pokemon coins recently and came across the silver rainbow Jirachi coin that you added to the Wish Maker theme deck page back in 2015.

This has been causing me quite a bit of confusion as the coin that I have from the same theme deck is definitely a soft gold like this one that is listed for the Movie Commemoration VS Pack. I haven't been able to find a silver version of this coin anywhere online (at the very least, not one that doesn't look it could be gold when held at a different angle).

I suspect that they're the same coin, or at the very least that the one from the Theme Deck is a different shade of gold than the one in the VS Pack, and not actually silver. My other running theory is that there were two slightly different colored versions of the coin included in the Wish Maker theme deck with one being soft gold and the other, seemingly rarer, one being silver.

If you still have the coin, are you able to take a new photo of it (perhaps at a few different angles) for visual comparison/confirmation?

Hi! I've been meaning to get back to that message, so I'm glad you reached out to me.

So, when my friend and I were researching coins way back when, we didn't own this coin. But, we had watched a lot of video openings of people unboxing the Wish Maker theme deck in order to try and pinpoint the exact research for it, and didn't quite feel so comfortable ascribing it as the same exact Japanese coin from the Movie Commemoration VS Packs. Those Japanese theme decks tended to be different from the coins released in the English products (despite all coins from that Generation being produced in Japan and shipped over). The image we added was a screengrab from one of those unboxing videos, and we weren't quite sure what to make of it. We figured it would be safer to consider them different and then combine them later, instead of the alternative.

The coin images we have that are non-transparent with white backgrounds were all coins I didn't own at the time, and are partly waiting for me to find a sealed copy to verify whether or not the research we did 10 years ago was fully accurate. That being said...do you happen to specifically own the coin that comes out of Wish Maker? That would probably be a better avenue for figuring this out. I saw on that talk pages that you mentioned owning that deck multiple times before, so I'm willing to trust your first hand experience--since I don't have one myself. I do happen to own multiple copies of the Movie VS Pack coin however. I simply return to the before-mentioned problem that it would be rare that the coin between the two products would match 100%. I'd love to be able to verify 100% whether or not they are the same, but that tends to involve scanning/taking picture of both of them at the same time and seeing if there are any differences.

Thanks for the response! You did (and still do) a ton of great work for the wiki, so I'm not complaining here about that - just trying to clarify some facts about the coins that I do own.

I've actually got three copies of said coin - one being from my theme deck that I had as a kid (and having pretty significant signs of play), one coming from a recent purchase of a sealed copy of the theme deck (and thus very clean / near mint), and the other being one that I imported from Japan recently as well (under the assumption that it was from the VS Pack which I'm now second guessing, also very clean / near mint).

Needless to say, I've got three samples that all look the same with two being confirmed coming from the Wish Maker theme deck and the other being identical but whose origin I am now uncertain of.

Changing gears, I've begun to collect coins from both North America and Japan but with most of my current efforts going towards North American Gen 3 and Gen 4 coins (the eras that I grew up with). I've got a few duplicates that I'd be down to trade with you (one of them being a pretty clean copy of the Wish Maker theme deck Jirachi coin).

I was thinking about picking up one of the VS Packs so that I can do a side-by-side comparison of the two coins but its currently outside my budget. I'm totally interested in trading one of my spare Wish Maker coins to you in exchange for your spare coin from the VS Pack (or alternatively, swap coins with you for photography/comparison purposes and then send it back once done).

I've got some other spares too but they're in varying used condition (much of my collection is either from my childhood and is thus well-loved or are second-hand pickups from eBay or from Mercari / Yahoo Auctions via proxy seller) - I can send you a list with photos if you're interested in seeing what I've got, just let me know! Hi! This coin definitely exists. Unfortunately, it's probably going to be a difficult find, and probably not on the English side of the internet. It was a Point prize for a series of tournaments happening at Pokemon Center stores in Japan for 1 month in 2016. Players could earn 1 point for participating and 1 point for winning. In order to get the Gardevoir coin (it came in a set of three with Pikachu and Charmander), you had to earn 6 points total and you could receive the coins from the tournament staff. Game data sections / Pokémon page formatting and layout

What would be the appropriate place to propose a change to the "Game data" sections of articles on Pokémon?

These sections have become progressively less useful over time, as they are incredibly long. Pikachu is a perfect example of this. From a personal perspective, my primary usage for these pages is checking Learnset and Stats sections. As more games are released, these sections get buried deeper and deeper in the pages, which is not useful at all.

It may be worthwhile to make separate Core game data and Side game data sections given how many games there are at this point.

Additionally, Pokédex entries could easily be its own section, following after Biology. I think this could reasonably contain core game, side game, and anime Pokédex entries, along with miscellaneous ones. Anyone looking to read Pokédex entries (which I often do) would be interested in all of these as a whole.

Sprites and models definitely needs its own section. These are inherently large and space filling, and would be best placed towards the bottom of the page.

Origin, Name origin, and In other languages could reasonably be combined into their own section, along with Concept and development. These are some of the things I personally find most interesting, and I definitely don't want to scroll for ages to find them. A section right at the end would be perfect.

One of the biggest problems ultimately is that the pages don't have Contents tables when viewed on mobile, whereas they do on the desktop version. Some pages, like Appletun, display with the sections collapsed by default, but others like the aforementioned Pikachu display with them expanded. It's a lot.

As an additional but unrelated bit of commentary, the adverts that display on Bulbapedia break the functionality of the website on mobile browsers. The implementation of adverts creates some kind of overlay which prevents clicking on wikilinks and the like, which is deeply frustrating. Poppy Appletree (talk) 15:06, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

You've given a lot of thought into these suggestions! The place to put these the talk page for Project Pokédex. I will say though, there are a lot of strong opinions about how those pages should be structured, and it's been difficult to get the majority of readers on board with specific changes. It's a very long term improvement, so there may not be immediate results to anything currently. I personally want to see game data placed on a separate page, so that the page can better address the needs of people playing the games, which the species page allows for a stronger overview of the things people find interesting about the site. It's hard to get people to agree however.

Spamming the recent changes deteriorates that resource which other editors use to ensure the quality and accuracy of the encyclopedia. The barriers we have to become autoconfirmed are intentionally low that a person can reach autoconfirmed status by natural editing (which doesn't include the user talk space.)

Your revert of my edit

Heya Mav. I understand the revert, that the Shining Darkness cards don't have traditional set numbers. However, the cards do have the DPBP# printed on them where a set number would be. It's also on the English card, so it's not information tied to the release, per say, it's tied to the Pokémon. We can find a place to put it on the card page, but it's not really appropriate to add to the species lists. Putting it there would be implying that that information is the equivalent to a card number, which isn't exactly accurate. Cards like Shaymin (Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky 11) have both the card number and the DP Battle number, with the battle number next to the first edition mark on the left instead. If we can't list it for all cards, we wouldn't list it for any. ^Maverick_Nate 04:31, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

Regarding Eternamax Eternatus' art and your revision to my change.

Hi! I just wanted to give a reason for my edit and also a proposal for the infobox art for Eternamax Eternatus.

I changed Eternamax Eternatus' art from the GL art to the HOME render to maintain consistency as all of those examples I gave in my reason, plus others, opt to use the HOME render over the existing GL art they have

HOME renders also mimic the posing of key art if its available, further showcasing their place as fill-ins for true key art (see Floette's forms)

However I do acknowledge that this is technically the correct image, due to the file name following the naming convention of other official art, so I am proposing that 0890Eternatus-Eternamax.png gets renamed to 0890Eternatus-Eternamax Dream.png, and a file redirect with the 0890Eternatus-Eternamax.png is given to HOME0890E.png?
