Welcome to Bulbapedia, Frozen Fennec!
Bulbapedia bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Welcoming

I noticed that you had copy pasted the welcome template to welcome someone. Yeah, that's not how you're supposed to do it... you have to use this {{subst:welcome}} to welcome someone. Please use this next time ok? Ataro 18:12, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Images

I just wanted to make you aware that the staff here prefer .png images instead of .jpg. I'm telling you this cause the image you uploaded of the Poké Spot Monitor was a .jpg. Just thought I'd let you know so if the file was deleted, you'd know why. :D Also you can upload a new version of a file without uploading an entirely new file. At the bottom of an image page, it should say "Upload a new version of this image" or something of the sort. Using that will save you the hassle of putting in a new file name onto the pages. :3 Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 21:36, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I couldn't figure that one out and the original version was also a jpg as well. Frozen Fennec 21:38, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Manga birthdays in trivia

You can't remove something because "It is already in the infobox". The infobox is a supplement to the article. It helps summarize it in a way. It should NOT be a replacement for information in the article. An article with 1 sentence and a full infobox would be worse then an article with a full paragraph of information that can all be found in the infobox and a picture. Hope you understand. Thanks, Blake Talk·Edits 17:54, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Well that helps a bit. Still alright to go through articles and change the "Name" part at bottom to "In other languages" correct?Frozen Fennec 22:40, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Only if the section doesn't include the English and Japanese names. Those two don't count as "other" languages. Werdnae (talk) 22:44, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Will do then, can't wait to hopefully be autoconfirmed soon as well. :-) Frozen Fennec 22:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Page deletion

Removing the content from a page doesn't delete it. Only admins can delete pages. To let us know that a page needs deletion, please add {{delete}} to the top of it. This automatically adds it to Category:Pages to be deleted, while still allowing us to view the content of the page without having to search through the history. Thanks. Werdnae (talk) 03:56, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for informing me of this. Will keep it in mind for future pages. Frozen Fennec

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! ----Pokemaster97 16:14, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Yea, I know. Right when I think it's correct it turns out the link is still incorrect. I still preview things for most part. Thanks for telling me this though. Frozen Fennec

Removing sections

Just because a large chunk of text is removed, that doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad thing. Please do not revert i back without a rebuttal to the information that was provided for the initial removal. It was already explained that those weren't mistakes because the animators used more specific source material than normal--SandmanDP 23:57, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Link templates

Hey, please make a habit of using the Link templates. They're there to make linking to specific pages easier. I'd prefer not to have to do this again. Also, make sure you're spelling a Pokémon's name correctly. You misspelled Marill throughout that entire article. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 07:42, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Alright then. I shall make sure to do that in the future. Sorry about doing that. Also sorry about misspelling Marill's name constantly too. Frozen Fennec 13:04, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Trivia Question

Hello there fellow Bulbapedian. I see you haven't answered my e-mail so I'm just going to write you here. Well why do you say that the trivia I wrote on AG159 isn't trivia material ? It isn't common for Team Rocket to blast such different,is it? --DJWolfy. 13:57, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

As far as trivia gos, I don't really see how it is important enough to go there. Then again I'm mostly collecting the cards, some books, and just playing the games. I really should consider watching the show more often though. If you feel it is important then feel free to add it again. If a sysop/admin removes it though, don't re-add it as that just results in edit wars clogging up recent changes. Have a great day. Frozen Fennec 21:04, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Thought so.Well, no Admin objected so far,so I think it is a great material for Trivia.Thank you!----DJWolfy 14:04, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
No problem. Feel free to ask stuff if you have more questions. Frozen Fennec 15:21, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Btw,I like that Pokébox at the bottom of your userpage.I don't know if it is or not your personal creation so I am asking you if I could use a modified version of it on my userpage ? ----DJWolfy 22:50, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
I didn't make it personally but I remember seeing someone else at the time when I put it on my page using it. The row sizes were a little smaller though. Instead of my current size for each row, they had it at 8. I liked it so I put it on my page. Feel free to put it on your page and modify it if you wish. Frozen Fennec 22:53, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Thank you!----DJWolfy 22:56, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Notes about the TCG templates

Where to start. The links for the Trainer cards you were adding were incorrect. First off, they are fine the way they are. However, if you were to change them, you'd need to change the TCG Template to the TCG ID template, and also add the number to the end of the template. {{TCG ID|Rising Rivals|Bebe's Search|89}}. The link has to link to the redirect of the most appropriate release for that card. A deck from 2005 can't be using a 2011 release of Rare Candy, now can it? No. That's why the links are the way they are. Additionally, I think the reason your link to Stormfront wasn't working was because you were trying to spell it "StormFront"? None of the sets are CamelCase.

Mother Flygon has the outdated template for a separate reason. It's a deck archetype, which are outdated because of how the formats and set rotations work in the TCG. When you add the template to Theme Decks, you need to specify the type of Trainer card the cards are. Also, if you do the GB Decks, use the template used on Great Quake Deck, not the one for theme decks. They are different. MaverickNate 20:01, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Ah, that makes more sense to me. I saw them and didn't add a number as they were lacking them originally. As for Stormfront, I spelled it as Stormfront and still got a red link, not sure why it was doing so. Alright then, will be sure to do the decks from the Pokemon GBC game in that format. Thanks for showing me what went wrong with editing. Frozen Fennec 20:05, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
Thought I would ask before editing the pages. If I use the Great Quake Deck as a base template for the other decks in that game then the level part is no longer necessary is it? Frozen Fennec 03:20, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Correct. MaverickNate 07:27, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks!I'm not good at making paragraphs.Btw,Pokémon must always start with capital letter?----DJWolfy 15:25, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Paragraph writing is easy. Just make sure to try writing them like this. And not like this. When starting a new sentence, hit the space button then write so the words and all aren't scrunched together. As for paragraphing. I try to keep count of how many I've written so far. When I get 6-7 written. I hit enter twice and start a new paragraph so it won't end up as a wall of text. Lastly, yea, Pokémon is always capitalized. Hope that helps. :-) Frozen Fennec 15:32, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
It sure does,thanks!----DJWolfy 20:06, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Gee,we should make a team :p. I complete synopsis while you correct and paragraph them. Anyways thanks for the minor correction. Although I found the original word was in this context "then they are mistaken for".----DJWolfy 21:38, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Haha, maybe but I have better things to do than trying to fix mistakes all day. Going to go back to updating TCG deck pages now. Fun time. :-) Nice signature too, might try to make my own sometime when I give my user page a new look or something. Frozen Fennec 21:40, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Obvious

That's pretty obvious, plus it's the same for almost all legendaries. ex: normal and shiny beasts, Lugia and her baby, regis in M09 and brandon's regis etc. so I don't really see the point in keeping it. Plus the other "in the anime" section of other legendaries don't mention the game thing.----DJWolfy 15:39, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I left it since in the movie it was shown to be able to breed. The only other legendary Pokémon I've seen capable of breeding or more than one of is Lugia, Regis, Celebi, Mew, and Deoxys. Don't think I've seen any of the other legendaries having more than one of themselves especially Mewtwo who is a one of ak ind along with others. Frozen Fennec 15:42, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that's why I said for almost all. Of course you won't see Arceus twice cause it's the original one or mewtwo since it is itself a human creation. But usually 580-600 stat legendaries are more than one. That's why I think it isn't necessary for "the game" thing to be on Latias' page. Also the same thing it is already mentioned on their page "In all but one of the games, there appears to only be one of each legendary Pokémon, but in the anime, there is more than one of most legendary Pokémon. This may just mean that the creators of the game intended the player to only ever happen to meet one of them canonically, and in fact there are others elsewhere which the player does not encounter." - unsigned comment from DJWolfy (talkcontribs)
I see now, kind of strayed away from what you were saying. I'll fix that up on that page then real quickly. :) Frozen Fennec 15:51, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Don't worry,took care of it already.----DJWolfy 15:53, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Alright then, thanks for that. :) Frozen Fennec 15:54, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Citations

I noticed that you deleted my citations. Sorry, but I'm used to Wikipedia, where you add lots of citations.Raichu409CID 23:33, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Well here at Bulbapedia we don't need citations for absolutely everything. :) Frozen Fennec 23:34, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

?

What happened to your Pokébox ? :p Just askin'.----DJWolfy 20:05, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Nevermind, found them.----DJWolfy 20:06, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Nice to see you found them. Moved them to a new subpage so it would make the main page less cluttered looking for me. That and I plan to redo how it looks pretty soon. :) Frozen Fennec 20:07, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Why would you want to redo it ? ----DJWolfy 20:46, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
TO make the page look nicer, that and I plan to do it on my birthday or the day after. :P Frozen Fennec 20:49, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Oh to modify it you meant, I thought to redo (opposite of undo).----DJWolfy 20:50, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
If it's not personal,although you mentioned it.----DJWolfy 20:55, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Thursday. Going to finish up what I'm doing today, see if I can hit that 1,000+ edit mark for the first time ever. :D Frozen Fennec 21:06, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Wait a minute, you still haven't got 1000 edits by now ?----DJWolfy 19:30, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

I did but redirects don't count toward mainspace edits. I was talking about getting 1,000 in a day, overall, I think I've probably done a good amount of edits. I have things on my to do list on here. Frozen Fennec 19:32, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Well, then you're a conscious uhm person then, I thought you haven't attained 1000 edits sincer your registration. Actually you didn't specify.----DJWolfy 19:36, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Eh, probably have. I left off redirect to TCG articles for Keldeo, Meoletta, and Genesect seeing as how they have yet to be revealed or have any cards of them yet. Frozen Fennec 19:40, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Well, never agreed with TCG, won't start now. I don't see any point in making cards. They should focus more on real-life simulation battles. That's a thing I would pay to use.----DJWolfy 19:46, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Opinions, opinions. I personally find it just a tad bit more challenging as each card has set moves and they can't be changed. Frozen Fennec 19:53, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Yep, another thing that doesn't reflect true Pokémon style.----DJWolfy 19:56, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Btw you made a small grammar mistake on your user page. It's needed be not need be.----DJWolfy 19:58, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Well thanks for pointing that out then. I'll go and fix it. Frozen Fennec 20:00, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

You said something about getting 1000 edits in a day. Is there a way to see how many edits have you done in a day ?----DJWolfy 13:16, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

No there is not. Only admins can see that. I don't mind though since I can see why only they can. It helps prevent users from trying to spam to get an award too. :) Frozen Fennec 15:32, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

M1 talk page undo

The Talk page policy states not to respond to messages older than 6 months UNLESS you have valid reason to do so. I had a valid reason to revive the discussion. Yamitora1 18:07, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Generally old comments over six months old should not be revived, however, if there is a legitimate reason to bring it up again, please do so. From the FAQ. Having watched the movie myself a couple of weeks back, he felt this his clones were much better and was going to clone all the Pokémon currently there and storm the world with the clones. You can disagree if you wish though, not saying I'm absolutely right but I feel that's what he was up to when he did what he did in the first movie. Frozen Fennec 18:19, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I have it stored on my pc in flv format and saw it today.
After Ash's Charizard was defeated, Mewtwo materialized 3 of his clone balls saying "As the victor, I now claim my prize, your Pokémon!" He then captures Ash's Charizard, Shellshocker and Bruteroot in that order. Misty asks "What are you going to do with those Pokémon!?" Mewtwo responds "I will extract their DNA to make clones for myself! They will remain safe on this island with me, while my storm destroys the planet" This is before he materialized more clone balls and Psychic Ash into Brock. He then sends the swarm after everyone as ash and the others try to make a break for it.
Although Mewtwo hadn't cloned Ash's Charizard, Shellshocker or Bruteroot in that instance, he made it clear he planned to later as far as the English dub is concerned. That is what I relayed in the revival comment. Plus I'm not the only one to post on it way after 6 months. The original post was 22:14, 3 October 2007 (UTC) and it wasn't responded to until 21:50, 11 February 2009 (UTC) Yamitora1 18:53, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Hmm.. I guess I should watch it again to confirm it. I've been busy playing White lately and not much else sadly. And yes, I noticed that right after I reverted it. :( Frozen Fennec 18:56, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Theoretically, Mewtwo would also need the extra DNA from Ash's Charizard, Shellshocker and Bruteroot to sustain a healthy population of his clones. While where he obtained the genetics for the first Charizardtwo, Blastoisetwo and Venusaurtwo is speculation, most agree it was somehow from Charmandertwo, Squirtletwo and Bulbasaurtwo, despite them dying & Mewtwo destroying the lab and any possible surviving genetic samples directly or indirectly. In any case, while he successfully cloned them, even somehow evolved them, it was indicated that there were many problems during the first cloning procedures/processes because the kept dying. This leads the viewer to believe there is some kind of genetic defect to cause this deterioration. Plus out of all the clones, these three had the most drastically different markings which are also speculated to be from defects in the genetics. So no mater what, its a good bet Mewtwo needed and would use the DNA sooner if not later. Yamitora1 19:23, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I see what you are saying there. However did it look like he was using the stuff right away and the clones looked close to perfect so maybe he made a near perfected system from the rubble he left on the island after destroying it. That and they were shown to be able to breed in the second movie that he was in, albeit they were in final forms or current stage of their evolution line rather than starter/baby forms. Frozen Fennec 19:30, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Unfortunately Ash destroyed the machine before anything else was crested. The last clones were just barely out of incubation before everything blew up. We have to go by Mewtwo's actions of capturing Ash's Charizard, Shellshocker and Bruteroot in the first place to indicate his future plans for them and their genetics. Mewtwo is theatrical, but I doubt he'd just capture three Pokémon for their genetics for no reason. Yamitora1 20:02, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Move descriptions

Why don't you add the BW descriptions that you remove from the infobox to the description template?--Den Zen 21:05, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

I was unaware which gen the description came from. I'll go and do those now. :) Frozen Fennec 21:07, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Event Distribution Zekrom on Haze article

Sometime during the week I added the Latest Event Distribution Zekrom to the haze article. For the obtain in section I wrote Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Is that the right thing, or is it something else? I'm more fluent in the anime than the games.

#   Pokémon Type Obtained with
0061 061 Poliwhirl Water Dream World - Pokémon Café Forest
0644 644 Zekrom Dragon Electric Satoshi Zekrom
0644 Zekrom Zekrom
Dragon Electric Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Bold indicates a Pokémon which gets STAB from this move.
Italic indicates a Pokémon whose evolution or alternate form gets STAB
from this move.

Looks correct to me. Frozen Fennec 21:17, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Edit on Indigo League page

I found a similar piece of work on the Johto League trivia section and I saw that the opposite applied to the Kanto League gym leaders so I thought I'd edit the Kanto League page as well. Was there a problem? Arceus101 22:19, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Saying all the gym leaders have a type disadvantage to the next one. By this I would assume that the next gym leader has a type that is super-effective to the previous gym leader except Brock as there is no gym leader battled before him. A couple of them said resistant, not really the same sound to me as the previous gym leader being weak to the next one. Frozen Fennec 00:49, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Move descriptions

Hi, I realize you're not really part of any Bulbapedia project, but since you seem to be working the descriptions for the 3D games, could you also point me to moves that are missing descriptions from the main series games (specifically GSC, RSE, and DPPt)? I'll be able to work on retrieving them if I need to. Thanks. Cheers, Haxorus 08:35, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Anything here before Hone Claws (as that is when the Gen V moves begin). I'm not truly working on the 3D games, I'm trying to get all the handheld descriptions too. :P Thanks for helping with the moves too. Frozen Fennec 15:49, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
559 moves... wow, that's quite some work. But I'll see what I can do. :-) Cheers, Haxorus 01:14, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Same here. I'll add on the Stadium and Stadium 2 descriptions when I get to playing them. :) Frozen Fennec 01:31, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Walkthrough Rival Boxes

I noticed you adjusted the formatting on the Rival's Pokémon boxes on Emerald Walkthrough (Section 4) a few days ago. According to the Project Walkthroughs page, formatting on Rivals' Pokémon should be horizontal, not vertical, even though it extends out beyond the screen. I like it the other way, but that's the policy. - poikins 00:28, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Alright then. Thanks for letting me know. Frozen Fennec 00:50, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Question

Heya, where else would I put that question? I wanted to sort the pokes into columns by EV, but everything I try ends up a mess. The whole template thing is so confusing. would there have to be a seperate template for rows where there was empty spots before the pokes? - unsigned comment from Saiph charon (talkcontribs)

Feel free to add it down on a new section but don't add it to some other section on a talk page unless having something to add to it. Or if it is over 6 months old as the case was, best thing to do is hit the + at the top of the page and start a new section. Frozen Fennec 18:10, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Registeel

Sorry, but how is the previous revision "better worded"? Contractions are informal and shouldn't be used in formal writing such as the Bulbapedia mainspace. I can understand the repetition of "the legendary golems" not being quite optimal (although something other than the super-informal "Regis" still needs to be used), but there was no need to revert the contractions back in, was there? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 23:52, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Actually, as I was taught, informal language is text speaking or how one would talk to another on a cell phone usually spelling things incorrectly. Regis is also formal since the Regis are called, legendary golems, Regi trio, or simply Regis. If the contraction was something like they'll or ain't I could understand since those would be informal. As it is, it's is quite common to use and very formal. Hope that helps you understand a little bit. Frozen Fennec 23:58, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
If you insist, I'll let it go your way, but I'm afraid I have to respectfully disagree for the moment. I've always been taught that no contractions are ever considered formal - I've even seen "it's" -> "it is" used in examples in textbooks and even Wikipedia. (As for "Regis", as fanon-y as that term sounds, our own article apparently uses it, so I guess I have to grin and bear it. I won't mention it again.) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 00:55, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Well, nice to see differences are put aside on the Regi part, as for the "it is" and "it's" thing. I suppose we were simply taught about them differently. Do feel free to come back and discuss it any time though. :) Frozen Fennec 01:18, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Reshiram

Also, that stuff I added about Reshiram is nessisary. It talks about why it is called "Fusion" in the first place, so you can mix it up with another attack. Matt D. A smart man 22:07, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Next time you correct a Bulbapedia article, move information to the correct place instead of deleting them as a whole. Matt D. A smart man 22:07, 16 June 2012 (UTC)- unsigned comment from Mdavis7298 (talkcontribs)

Feels more like speculation to me for the time being. Also sign your comments with ~~~~ when leaving comments on a talk page or user talk page page. Thank you. Frozen Fennec 23:47, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

User Page Template

Hi there! You were the one who welcomed me to Bulbapedia. :-) Remember me?

Anyways, I recently got the privilege to edit my user space. I was wondering if I could use the template you used for your user page. I don't want to take it without permission.

Thanks for your time! Empress Empoleon (talk) 19:43, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

This is OK with me. As long as it doesn't look exactly the same. I plan to update it sometime too. :) Frozen Fennec 15:25, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! I plan to change the colors and the borders and such, so it definitely won't look exactly the same. ;-DEmpress Empoleon (talk) 18:03, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh, wow, since I'm not that experienced with templates, it came out looking all wrong. DX Because I can only edit my user space once a day, I have to wait till tomorrow. Darn.Empress Empoleon (talk) 18:03, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
I could help fix it up if you wish. :) Frozen Fennec 13:29, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Serene Grace > Secret Power

Ok. I know for a fact that this is true. 100% no doubt. Now how do I prove this? The people over at Smogon didn't believe me either till that guy looked in the game's code and pointed out I was right. What will it take to get this edit approved?

Thank You For Your Time --V4Victini (talk) 01:55, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Well for one, you need to wait for further input on the talk page first. If other people can validate that it is true then it can be added. From what I saw, one person disagreed with you, that shouldn't be incentive to automatically remove that segment. So just wait on doing so for now. Frozen Fennec 03:23, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

User Page Template (2)

Hi! :) ... I'm just going to continue smiling awkwardly because I don't know you, and you don't know me... :) Anyway, I recently asked Empressempoleon if I could borrow (okay, steal is more appropriate, but it's not stealing if I asked, right?) her user page template, and she told me to ask for your permission first. So, could I use it for my user page? Please? I'll change the colors and everything. Thanks :) YOLO~ (Stalkers Allowed) 11:45, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Fine with me if you wish to do so. :) Frozen Fennec 19:44, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Edit wars

While what you did in regards to Mimey was a noble act, participating in an edit war isn't recommended. If you notice a user trying to start up an edit war, it's highly advised that you inform a member of the staff and let us handle the problem from there. Taking the bait and continuing to revert, even for the side of accuracy and correctness, is a violation of policy. Thanks for understanding, - Kogoro - Talk to me - 22:25, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

I shall do that in the future. Thanks for letting me know. Frozen Fennec 22:27, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

TCG move errors.

It's rather not good idea listing moves that didn't exist yet. For example, few Ampharos cards had Bolt Strike if I remember (but under different English name) on them. Didn't add that, the move wasn't in games until three generations and almost eleven years later* - I also fixed table (there was redundant |- everywhere). Marked +-+-+ (talk) 15:37, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

I had just removed this trivia not more than six hours before you added it again.
Furthermore, our database is not ready to be doing this page, and I'm rather disappointed and annoyed that no one decided to contact the Head of TCG before attempting this page to make sure we were ready, or if plans weren't already being done. Any work on it right now is futile, because not all the card pages even exist, let alone have correct information regarding the cards' moves. There are several things that needed to happen before this page could have been started correctly. 1) A more appropriate table needed to be created. 2) All the origin sections needed to be double checked to remove speculation and false information. 3) TCG sections for all moves, abilities, Warrior skills, etc needed to be created (which can't even be completed until Bulbapedia's search gets repaired). 4) Error cards need to be researched and a system for classifying errors needs to be developed. After these four things are finished, then we would have been able to start work on TCG move errors. This page is not going to exist in the end. It is going to be an extremely condensed sub section of the Error cards page. Next time you try to work on such an extremely large TCG undertaking, please talk to me so that we can at least develop a system for 100% completion and accuracy, because I don't like having to undo someone's work everytime you decided to add an inappropriate trivia: like this Pokémon knowing Lick (したでなめる) when it actually knows Lick (なめる), or Pidgeotto knowing Twister (たつまき) when it actually knows Twister (ツイスター), OR Brock's Golbat knowing Dive (ダイビング) when it actually knows "Dive" (スピードひこう) (later translated as Speed Dive). The inappropriate trivias will only exist simply because there is a rift between accuracy, what needs to be said, and what exactly is going on with the cards
There are a lot of things that needed to happen first, specifically with finalizing what needs to be said in each card's origin section. Talk to me first next time, so that we can work on things together. It's hard for me to keep track of 8000 cards when tons of people decide to do their own thing without talking to me at all. I apologize if I sound a bit harsh: I'm just highly disappointed, and want everything to be as great as possible, which I just don't think is possible with this page at this moment based on the state in which the rest of our TCG database is. MaverickNate 16:20, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
Did not realize it was that big of an error on my part creating the page.
First, the only reason I had |- in between card entries was to make it easier to see where one card began and ended at. Aside from that, they served no other purpose.
As for the TCG Error page being created. I started that one upon noticing that the Error moves template {{Move errors}} had a red link for the TCG link. I didn't think there was any harm in adding the page at the time. As for fixing up the template being used on that page as a whole, I would be more than happy to wait on that to happen before working on the page again. Also if it is only meant to be a sub section of the error cards page then I have no problem with going through and removing the images themselves so they consume less space on the page. As for taking it up with you (Head of TCG) next time, I will be more than happy to do so.
Lastly,
1. What kind of table would be appropriate in this case?
2. Removing false information and speculation, I will do my best in regards to both of those.
3. I can understand the first part. My question, how is the search broken at the moment? Not doubting you, just curious as to how it's broken.
4. Understood.
I don't mind it sounding harsh, I'd rather be alerted I am doing something wrong than not being told at you. Thanks for letting me know about this. Will take it up with you first next time I work on something large in the TCG area. Frozen Fennec 18:21, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

Redlinks

Do NOT. I repeat, do NOT remove redlinks to pages that should actually exist, no matter what space they are linked from. Just because a page is linked to from a talk page does not mean it is suddenly not notable enough to be put on the wanted pages. There are multiple times that users are discussing pages that should be created and link to them appropriately. Assess what the subject actually is before blindly removing links based on where they are coming from. Redlinks should exist due to content, not location. MaverickNate 19:10, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

What

How is that against the rules. How is it hurting the site??? Its not. I am the only one who needs to read them. Its not against the rules on other wikis. Its not against my rules and its my page. If I want to read and erase, then I can. BlackDragon 03:20, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

From the page of Bulbapedia: Talk page policy

"Removing comments is also prohibited, unless it is spam, content that would be better suited to the Bulbagarden forums, or a reply to a finished conversation older than six months. "

Frozen Fennec 03:29, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

WHY??? Does it bother people. If they neededit , like for proof that someone said something then they could just look through the history. Besides that is a stupid rule. BlackDragon 03:38, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

No wait, That is for article talk pages. Like removing those would be wrong, not my talk page. I "can" remove them, its just not recommended. thats all. BlackDragon 03:40, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

That is for ALL talk pages, not just article pages themselves. I will not continue to argue with you past here, I see no point in it. Frozen Fennec 03:43, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Im not arguing. You seem to be. I just think its stupid. Its not hurting anything. Thats not how I read it and ya know people see things in different ways. After all beauty if in the eye of the beholder. BlackDragon 03:50, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Link capitalization

I've noticed a couple of puzzling edits you've made lately (like writing [[Move|move]]), so I just wanted to make you aware that, when linking with [[ ]], the capitalization of the first letter doesn't affect where the link goes. (The rest of the link is case-sensitive, but not the first letter.) Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:45, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Understood, thank you. :) Frozen Fennec 02:37, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

TCG move errors

Please don't do this. That page is going to be merging into another, and that page title won't exist anymore. MaverickNate 15:25, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Also, I'm not fond of hidden messages on pages as in here. MaverickNate 15:26, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
Do you mean the page TCG move errors will not exist or that Pikachu card page? And will keep in mind the hidden messages for those cards. Frozen Fennec 00:26, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

TCG Template

The TCG Template (aka Template:TCG) is in all caps. You should never be using the redirect for the link template, it should always, without exception, be {{TCG|}} MaverickNate 02:11, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

My apologies, I assumed it was like a few other templates and that lowecase was ok. Will make sure it does not happen again. Frozen Fennec 03:07, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Minor edit tag

Hello, the minor edit tag (m) only applies when edits don't add significant information to an article (examples would be spelling and punctuation corrections; removing vandalism; correcting or adding links). I'm referring to this edit. --Froggy25 (talk) 18:08, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Minor edit tags can also apply to when the edits are small (under +500.) Frozen Fennec 18:11, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
From where are you quoting that? Quoting Editorial Board member Zesty Cactus "Minor edits are grammar, spelling, and otherwise minute changes." Not adding actual information to an article. m tags are there so people following pages can skip the actual minor edits. For reference (as Bulbapedia doesn't have a page detailing the use of the minor edit tag), here are Wikipedia's guidelines, which are more or less used in every major wiki. --Froggy25 (talk) 18:21, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
That was 8 years ago, policies can change over time. I have also spoken with an admin of Bulbapedia who states there is no current policy on how to use the minor edit tag as long as it is not used when making a new page (which is pretty much impossible.) Have a nice day~ Frozen Fennec 18:26, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
I request a quotation on that. So I can at least start a discussion on what I think is an important matter. --Froggy25 (talk) 18:27, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
We do not have a stated policy on minor edits (nor an unstated one, as far as I'm aware). glikglak 18:36, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I'll try asking an Editorial Board member to see if there can be an entry about what can be marked minor edit in the FAQ at least. --Froggy25 (talk) 18:44, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Previous wording

What do you mean by "Previous wording was fine"? Saying "most likely" is way to certain for a speculative point like that.Great Bear (talk) 14:34, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

I meant on that page's talk page but here is fine as well. "May be" is "maybe;" that aside, the wording used here most often when we are sure but not absolutely positive on if something is meant to refer to something is most likely as maybe sounds less sure and sounds like there are doubts on whether or not the reference or whatnot is really there. Frozen Fennec 14:38, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
I don't think we could ever be "sure" on that because it's speculation, hence why the wording should be toned down to something that's possible but not "likely".Great Bear (talk) 14:45, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
I would recommend asking a member of the staff for the time being to avoid any possible edit warring that could ensue. While I believe the wording is fine, staff may have a different opinion on it. Frozen Fennec 14:47, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
Actually "may be" and "maybe" mean different things. "Maybe" is an adverb while "may be" is similar to "could be" so the wording was grammatically correct. See this site for more details.Great Bear (talk) 14:54, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
"Most likely" is simply opinion. It's not up to us to make such judgements, all that needs to be said is that [X] is a possibility (if it's reasonable). Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:18, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

images about Pokémon Quest

So, I have been playing Pokémon Quest, and wanted to see if there where pictures from it. And I found out there where none. (Yes, I have looked at the thing with all the images. Not just generation 1, generation 2, generation 3, generation 4, generation 5, generation 6, and generation 7 sprites. I'm not that much of a newb gosh.) I have a picture of a Quest Bulbasaur (almost Ivysaur) if data mining is not needed. (Data mining because the Pokémon stretches and it's hard to screenshot the unstretched version)

I'll SeeYaLater (talk) 20:29, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Are you asking if it is ok to upload images for the Pokémon Quest page? Frozen Fennec 03:00, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
Yes. SeeYaLater (talk) 19:39, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
I would say it should be ok. If you were asking for admin approval though, I am not one of them. Admins have a Poké Ball symbol in the top left corner of their userpage and talk page. Would be safer to ask admins such as glik, Force Fire, abcboy, or another active admin. :) Frozen Fennec 20:23, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

Source for 25th Trainer for Pokemon Colosseum's Internal Data?

Hello! On the Pokémon Colosseum Double Battle e page, I've noticed you left an edit that mentions there is data for an unreleased 25th card. I do realize the edit was made a few years ago, but is there a chance you might still have the source of the information? If the internal data is there, I would love to see if there is a way to load it up from the source that spoke of it. Thank you for your time :) - unsigned comment from TheEclipsedLock (talkcontribs)

In the external links of the Pokémon Colosseum beta page, there is a link to TCRF which is where a lot of the information came from. However, for the 25th card trivia... I honestly cannot recall at this point. I remember reading A LOT about several beta / unused things for Pokémon games and recall I did read about the card (separate from the unused 21st e-Reader card bit on the beta page) on TCRF or another website but it seems I can no longer find that anywhere. Seems the only remnant of that trivia left anywhere to prove the card possibly existed is this page on Serebii showing the existence of an unused / unreleased promotional card for a fight against someone called Snagem Grunt Goku with three of his Pokémon listed. If I cannot find where I originally saw the trivia from, will probably just delete it later today or tomorrow. Frozen Fennec 11:02, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

PAGESINCATEGORY

The template works, you might just be confused: {{PAGESINCATEGORY:Illus. by Asako Ito}} results = 33, the number of pages within the category. It does not link to the category itself. Pipefan (talk) 16:37, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

I know the link works, what confused me is that your edit itself wasn't showing at all on the page regardless of what browser I checked it with. I ended up changing it so that it would show a link to the category. Apologies if I came across as being rude, that was not my intention. Frozen Fennec 16:39, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
No problem! Cache issues are common in wikis but thats the first time I've seen mentioned here. Pipefan (talk) 16:45, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

Edit War (Signature Move)

Hey, can I ask you a question, what to do if there's an edit war between me and someone else (Luigifan)? Here--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 16:40, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Aside from grammar fix-ups, cases like this where it starts to be two or more users reverting or editing over each other, it should ALWAYS be discussed on the talk page of the article instead. Refusal to do so can lead to bans on here. Will be looking over the edits in question tomorrow morning, but in the future, rather than reverting each others' edits, please take it up on the talk page and discuss it from there. Thank you. Frozen Fennec 02:40, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Can't create my own user page

Hi Frozen Fennec! Thanks for letting me know about the guidelines concerning talk pages and user pages. However, I'm not able to edit my user page. Can you help at all with this? Samhildastud (talk) 00:13, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Fake Leaks

I saw you removed my edit revealing that Pokemon Picross is fake. I think the whole internet is brainwashed into thinking some random people on 4chan are leaking all these files and actually hacked them from Nintendo. It makes me sick. It's very obvious that Pokemon Spaceworld was faked, Pokemon Picross was faked, and also that Tomato Adventure prototype was fake. Is there somewhere on the wiki we can expose these frauds or is that outside the scope of Bulbapedia? If it's not allowed here, I understand and I'll keep exposes off the wiki. Thanks. --Kulbasaur (talk) 00:22, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

We don't add content from fake leaks and any new info that might come from leaks is handled carefully so as to prevent the wiki from getting into any potential legal hassles. We don't expose frauds on Bulbapedia as that is not something we do here. We try to make sure any information we do add is relevant and has some source regarding why info or articles might be added to Bulbapedia. Also, never heard of a Tomato Adventure game, so not sure what you are referring to there. Frozen Fennec 00:41, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Obviously, he's talking crap. What he does is regular vandalism. The leaks are genuine as they came straight from Nintendo (and have even been chased after, the hacker even got sentenced) and nobody would do this so accurately (definitely not some random 4chan trolls, also 4chan isn't even the primary source of these leaks). Nobody would go at such length to fake such an extensive material (which is not just Pokémon but various Nintendo stuff), including source files. People who say that leaked Spaceworld or Picross ROMs are fake are contrarian, conspiracy theorists or trolls. --Maxim (talk) 06:54, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Aside from what Maxim said, I don't think Bulbapedia has anything to worry about when it comes to possible legal issues. Posting images and info won't get anybody in trouble. So long as you don't mention or link to where the files can be found online, the site should be fine.
Also, Fennec, regarding your comment of "We try to make sure any information we do add is relevant and has some source regarding why info or articles might be added to Bulbapedia." That's a good idea, but in that case why does Category:Shipping exist? If anything, that has even less relevance to the franchise since it's little to nothing more than fan speculation. -WarioBarker (talk) 05:15, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Those pages have existed far, far longer than I have ever been here. From what I understand, those were made around the time that Bulbapedia started as just for fun type pages since shipping was a much bigger thing cira 2006 - 2008. You'll notice that over the years shipping has become less and less of a thing and I ended up cleaning up the shipping pages to remove the Pokémon x Human shipping names since we want to move far away from that type of weirdness. Any further questions regarding shipping should be sent towards Spriteit as they took over as the Head of Shipping around the time I got promoted to admin. User space editing

Hello, I am contacting you bc I was warned while editing my talk page that I was marked with a vandal 3 case of abuse, I just wanted to remove the welcome part and put this: Questions, criticism, feedback and advice are all welcomed here.

Inferno Sam (talk) 15:56, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
In the future, please follow my advice of using the + at the top to create a new section to ask questions. Adding comments to pre-existing or very old sections makes it difficult for us to find and respond to you quickly. That being said, the talk page s inot your user page. If you want to create a user page, you need to contribute more to the mainspace first. The Welcome template CAN NOT be removed unless you are archiving your talk page. If you want to add a section about saying Questions, critiques, feedback, and advice are welcome, you can always add it as a line at the top of the page. I recommend trying to edit your talk page one more time. Given your account is new, it should not be in the Usergroup: Abuse list currently. If it is still giving you that error, feel free to reach out to me again and I will see what I can do to help you. Frozen Fennec 16:17, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for letting me know. I will contact you again if I have any questions.
Inferno Sam (talk) 18:33, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

I got a welcome message telling me I could now upload images, but I can't.

Recently someone created a user talk page for me in the Bulbapedia Archives, saying something like "by creating your account you are now able to upload images". Yet I'm not. And I didn't even edit any images or anything like I was supposed to to get that privilege. I think the message was automated, but I'm not sure why it gave me inaccurate information. - unsigned comment from Andre1070 (talkcontribs)

It seems you are able to upload images as I just checked and seen that you have on there. Also, in the future, if you forget to sign a talk page comment, do not edit the page just to add the signature as this can mess up the timing for when the comment was made. Thank you. Frozen Fennec 13:34, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
No, no, I got the permissions to upload images afterwards, after I received that message. As I mentioned before, I hadn't edited any images prior to that point. Obviously I can edit images now, but not when I got the message. Andre1070 (talk) 14:37, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
https://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User_talk:Andre1070 Here is the message in question. It was sent after I made an edit in the talk page of the to-do list, so I believe that may be why I received it. As you can see, it claims I got permission to upload images by creating my account, which is inaccurate, as you need to edit a certain number of images to get that permission. After I got that message, I checked and saw that I was not, in fact, able to upload images. A few hours later I managed to get it by editing several different images, but not before. To clarify further, I was already aware of the limitations on uploading images for new users, so it's not like the message led me astray or made me think I could upload images when I could not. I'm just saying that it's probably time to update what that welcome message says. Oh jesus, I forgot to sign it again, I'm sorry. By the way, if I have done anything else wrong, don't be afraid to tell me, okay? I just want to make sure I haven't screwed up in my first few days in the wiki. Andre1070 (talk) 15:00, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
The archive admins have been made aware of this. Also, please make sure to use the Preview Button rather than edit a page multiple times to reduce the chance of clogging up the Recent Changes pages. That ways you can also keep the conversation to one segment rather than making multiple segments for responses. Thank you. Frozen Fennec 15:02, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
Okay, thank you. It's just that I kept thinking of more things I felt I should say after the fact. But I'm glad that I brought this problem to your attention, even if it's admittedly minor. Have a nice day! - unsigned comment from Andre1070 (talkcontribs)

Why can't I edit my userpage?

I want to edit my userpage and add user tags for my favorite Pokémon and stuff, but I can't. I have not been blocked, I am not in the "abuse" usergroup, I have edited in the mainspace and I am pretty sure my userpage has not been protected. So why can't I edit my userpage? Do I need to make a certain number of edits in order to be able to edit my userpage? Or is it some sort of glitch? Buzzfan120 (talk) 23:02, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Oh, by the way, I accidentally triggered the abuse filter by trying to edit a reply to a discussion page. I did not mean to do it and I hope you understand. Buzzfan120 (talk) 23:09, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
You have not contributed enough to the mainspace yet to be able to create your userspace. The number of edits needed is unknown, just edit pages as you see them needing it and you will gradually unlock being able to create your userpage, just need to be patient. Also, instead of making multiple edits in a row to talk pages or articles, please try to use the Show Preview button; it is right beside the Save Changes button and will help save you a lot of time. Have a wonderful day.~ Frozen Fennec 02:10, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

Poké Cup/Prime Cup

I believe that the lists of Pokémon Trainers in Poké Cup and Prime Cup should be arranged by round rather than by cup. I consider it far more intuitive to list them in the order they are actually fought. I feel so strongly about this that I've taken the liberty of knocking up what Poké Cup and Prime Cup look like with the amended lists.--Tmwps (talk) 23:18, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Actually, is it admin approval I need or do I specifically need to take this up with the Editoral Board?--Tmwps (talk) 10:20, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Admin approval, will be looking into the edits later today when I have time. Additionally in the future, with things like this, do NOT mainspace articles that are not in use yet, have moved your pages back to your userspace for now until the edits have been double checked first. Thank you. Frozen Fennec 13:41, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response, finally had some time to check the pages and compare them for differences. Having everything condensed down to less pages is a nice change but checking with a couple of other mods first before allowing the change overall to happen. If it does, will give an update, hopefully you won't have to wait too long to see if your version of the Cup pages is approved or not. Thanks for being patient. Frozen Fennec 13:14, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
I didn't support this idea at first, but I've warmed up to it by now. I've edited all the links leading to the original list pages, so could you remove them? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:46, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Sure, will go ahead and remove the older pages now. Frozen Fennec 13:16, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
You also removed the Stadium 2 Prime Cup page. I assume you weren't supposed to remove that one? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:19, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Entirely accidental, sorry about that. Had a bunch of pages queued up for removal and had that page open as well it seems. Frozen Fennec 13:25, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Errare humanum est. I assume an admin can undo a deletion, correct? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:31, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
The page has been restored, thanks for the heads up. Frozen Fennec 13:44, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Toxtricity in Sun/Moon

Hi. I have a question, I wanted to add an easter egg from SM about Toxtricity here [1], but ForceFire reverts me. How am I supposed to write this trivia to be accepted?--Rocket Grunt 10:13, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

I am not seeing the Dynamax Toxtricity in any of the posters. The fifth shares some of it's colors but I am not seeing Toxtricity itself in the posters and have to agree with Force Fire, it looks more like fan speculation than facts. Sorry. Frozen Fennec 13:14, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Add image to Ex Power Keepers article

Hello, I am currently working on adding information on the Ex Power Keepers article. I know I do not have enough days + contributions to upload an image but I would like to add the picture of my unlimited World Champions Pack to the article. Could you please add it ? Here is a link : https://imgur.com/a/BIErZMy

Thanks a lot ! I hope it is possible --Japanesepokemoncollector (talk) 14:16, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response, been busy with things lately but no, the image is not needed. We already have a higher quality image of the pack available on the page that was added in January 2021. As for the section you added, while we appreciate it being added since trivia like that is always nice, going to consolidate it slightly for better wording and to make the section slimmer. Also, when adding references to articles, you will need to add a reference section to the bottom of the page, right above where site templates and categories show up. When adding a Reference area, make sure to add the section header as ==References== and the references list will show up by adding <references />. I hope this helps, feel free to message me if you have any other questions, sorry again for the very late response. Frozen Fennec 13:42, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
hello, thanks for the answer.

Regarding the picture, I understand your answer but your picture shows a 1st edition WCP, mine is an unlimited one, which is the rarest one. So I thought it was interesting to add a picture of it. I might make a better quality one if you prefer.

Thanks for keeping what I added. And yes it is indeed extremely important in my opinion to add this kind of information so that every person who is seeking information can find it and does not have to spend several hours like I did to find these pieces of information. Thanks for the info about references I will make everything better next time :) --Japanesepokemoncollector (talk) 13:53, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

I will have to disagree on the card pack image. I am not seeing a need to have two similar images of the same package with minimal differences to them. We do add images for pack differences (usually between the JPN/ENG pack releases since they are almost always under different names and use different images for the pack display.) I slimmed the wording a little and moved it to a later section on the page. As someone who also likes looking at obscure trivia, I will agree on the obscurity of packs and other stuff being something I usually feel is worth adding to articles if info is hard to come by. no problem you decide :) thanks for all !--Japanesepokemoncollector (talk) 14:10, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

502 Bad Gateway Error

Hi Frozen Fennec, I'm hoping you can help me. When I access Bulbapedia's mobile site on my phone, as soon as I move from my first page to another, I get an error (Error 502, Bad Gateway, Host Error). That error persists for a few days, then I can get to one page, then I error again.

If I block all cookies or go into Incognito Mode, the problem goes away. Just clearing the cache doesn't help. This started happening after I had opened a bunch of tabs one day, so it's possible Bulbapedia thinks I'm trying to DoS it or something.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, thanks! - unsigned comment from Nicholastaylor101 (talkcontribs)

Hey, thanks for letting me know about the issue with the mobile version of Bulbapedia, had another user bring it up as an issue on discord recently. I forwarded the overall issue to our tech admin and the head admin as well but we need more information to work with so we can try to isolate and figure out what could be causing the issue on mobile.
What mobile browser(s) are you using? How long have you been experiencing this issue for? Does it occur frequently or only from time to time? Are you in an area where you might have a bad internet connection? etc etc, any info like that would help us a lot in resolving this problem for you and others experiencing this problem, please and thank you. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon. Frozen Fennec 14:02, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
P.S. When adding new sections and comments to a user talk page or talk page, please make sure to sign off your comments with ~~~~ so that we know who left the comment and when. Thank you~ Frozen Fennec 14:04, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
I'm using the Google Chrome browser. I just checked the Samsung one and that seems to work fine. As does incognito browsing Chrome. This has been happening for 2-3 months I'd say. Not sure exactly. My internet connection is solid. Does seem to be an issue with Chrome mobile I guess. The problem lasts for hours at least, maybe a day or two. Then I'll be able to access one Bulbapedia page, though trying to access another will cause the error again.

Nicholastaylor101 (talk) 00:20, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response, head admins and our service provider have been made aware of the issue, seems the issue is also stemming from a recent update to Google Chrome mobile and it is recommended to try using another browser for the time being until the issue can be resolved. Thanks for the follow-up! Nicholastaylor101 (talk) 16:35, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

Coordinator sprites on List of Contest opponents (Generation III)

A couple days ago I finished an edit on List of Contest opponents (Generation III) that added most of the missing Coordinator sprites. To finalise the page I need to upload two new sprites & resize three others to 32x32, but I'm don't have the permissions to do so on the Archives. I uploaded the five sprites in question to an imgur album here. Can you help? -Lagnic (talk) 19:22, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Heya, sorry for the late response, I will go ahead and get these five sprites uploaded for you tonight once I am back home. Thank you for your patience. Frozen Fennec 14:37, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Superb, thanks - unsigned comment from Lagnic (talkcontribs)

Unblock request

It's been two weeks since I was permanently blocked from editing the Nintendo Switch pages. I humbly ask if there's a possibility to unblock me. I don't have much to say other than I, of course, have not done a single edit (edit warring) since. And it's gone two weeks. I'm not gonna say that I totally think that the Nintendo Switch and its OLED model are considered a home console, but I've matured a lot. In the end, if I'm unblocked, then I will try not to edit war. --SaturnMario, his talk and his contributions 01:04, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Your reply here demonstrates that you still do not understand what you did wrong. The specific content that you were adding is not the problem. There is no need for a hidden note, because adding that line is not against the rules. What is against the rules is adding back content that has been reverted without justifying why the revert was incorrect.
You added content to a page, and someone reverted you because they believed the information you added was wrong. That is fine and normal, if you disagree; you need to discuss why you disagree on the talk page. Every single time you added the information to the page, you were reverted; and a detailed reason was provided in the reverting edit summary. A few months would pass, and you would add the information back, without even providing a token attempt to explain why you disagreed with the reason you were previously reverted.
In July this year, posted on the talk page, "suggesting" that the exact edit you had been reverted for several times be done. Although in that talk page comment, all you did was request the content be added without explaining why you disagreed with the reasoning that had been provided every time you had previously been reverted. Then, a few minutes later, without waiting for anyone to respond to your talk page comment; you added it to the page anyways, rendering your talk page message pointless -- especially since you asked if you could add it, were told "No," and then subsequently went on to add it again.
The same reasoning that had been provided to you every time you had been reverted was also provided to you on that talk page, only a day after you posted your original message. Once again, you completely ignored that explanation, and continued to add the exact same content to the talk page again without ever responding on the talk page, or even acknowledging that anyone disagreed with you.
To be clear. What you did wrong was continuing to add the same information back to the page without attempting to discuss it first. Maybe you were right and the claim should be on the page you need to make an argument on the talk page to explain why you believe that. You cannot just ignore-everyone who disagrees with you and try to sneak it back onto the page by waiting for long periods between edits. Frozen Fennec 16:19, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
So what should I do to regain access? --SaturnMario, his talk and his contributions 16:21, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
We have no plans to allow you to edit the pages for the time being given you kept adding back content to those pages for three whole years without ever discussing it on the talk page or waiting for other user or admin input on the matter. You may regain access to editing the pages eventually in the future if you can show that you are willing to go to talk pages to discuss edit reversions and showing actual patience rather than adding content right back to a page or waiting a couple of months to pass by and trying to sneak the edit back in. Frozen Fennec 16:30, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
I want to regain access to editing the Nintendo Switch pages if I can show that I'm willing to go to talk pages to discuss edit reversions and showing actual patience, instead of adding content right back to a page or waiting a couple of months to pass by and trying to sneak the edit back in. SaturnMario, his talk and his contributions 01:31, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
The answer is still no, as shown in this reply, the previous reply, and your talk page segments, you have shown no progress in learning or trying to improve your editing or using talk pages to discuss edits. It has also only been roughly 2 months, the permaban is because you kept doing the same edits over the course of three years. As I was getting ready to respond to this, I saw your most recent edit to the Wii U page was also undone for pretty much the same reasons noted above. Do NOT ask to be unblocked from editing those pages again. If your edits improve in the future, we will evaluate if it is acceptable to unblock you from editing those pages. eevee

why are we including information from spin off games in lead of the article? if you have to include pokemon xd then why is mystery dungeon and conquest not on that page as well?? and then there's like, pokemon GO where pokemon like roserade evolve with a sinnoh stone.Roserade57 (talk) 22:40, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

Apoligies for the late response but that stuff is already covered on pages for species that do evolve, under the Side Game data sections. The evolution methods noted at the the top of the page are usually reserved for main game evolutions although some spinoff games are included from time to time. Template at User:Totodile star

Special:Diff/3507617

You removed the template, but I think that due to similarities in content, it should have been replaced with {{User No Vandal}}. Just letting you know. --Bfdifan2006 05:12, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Not done Usertag based edits in awhile. Will likely fix that later when I get to fixing broken and needed templates later. Frozen Fennec 12:05, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Moves

"SwShBDSPLA" is a valid argument for {{gameabbrev8}}, which will produce SwShBDSPLA. No need to type out {{gameabbrev8|SwShBDSP}}{{gameabbrev8|LA}}. --Bfdifan2006 17:37, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Also, sorry for such an awkward choice for a section name, it was because you put the long syntax on move pages, as I noticed in the RC's. --Bfdifan2006 17:40, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Editing Issue

Hello Frozen Fennec. I'm a fairly new user to editing Bulbapedia, but I have been making a few contributions here and there. I've been trying to edit the page Moves not in the Pokémon games/In the TCG/Sword & Shield Series. So far it's been going well, and I've added some things, but when I tried deleting the moves that were already existent in previous series/expansions (as every other page excludes previously introduced moves from older expansions), my edit was automatically blocked on account of Vandal Filter 2. I was told to contact an administrator to explain myself, which is why I am here. I also corrected the names of several moves. Could you allow my edit to go through please? I'm not trying to do anything harmful. Dougbro1 (talk) 20:41, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for a belated response, it seems you are not blocked. Vandal Filter 2 only appears when a new user is attempting to remove a large quantity of content from a page. Once you are auto-confirmed, the error should stop occurring. I can remove the excess content you were trying to remove if you need me to. Frozen Fennec 00:36, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I can understand why that's in place. There are a lot of entries that I was trying to remove from the page (duplicates from previous expansions). I'd explain which ones, but that could take a while. I can take it slow, making an edit or two per day, or waiting until I get autoconfirmed. Thanks for informing me! Dougbro1 (talk) 01:43, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Move images

Hello, I was told, that we can add move images from different games of same generation in case they are different enough. I wanted to add some from BDSP, but I'm not sure what consitutes a "different enough"; the game itself is different stylistically, so most moves look different, but I don't know if it's enough difference. Is there a way to judge (dis)similarity with someone in the staff without adding them to archives prematurely? Kikugi (talk) 11:08, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Usually if the move's animation is different or updated: ie, Sonicboom in Gen II went from a small tornado to 3 blades being thrown at the opponent; in some games, move animations are slown down to prevent epilepsy. If the moves look similar from game to game or exactly the same, then there is no need for a new image for that generation. Frozen Fennec 15:37, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Hex Maniac Trivia

I was reading the Hex Maniac article, and I noticed this piece of trivia: "On the second floor of the Lumiose City's Fighting Dojo building, a Hex Maniac will appear, say 'No, you're not the one,' and float away. It is most likely a hologram for a marketing stunt to drive business to the location." I looked at the webpage which was cited as a source, and I couldn't find anything mentioning a hologram or marketing stunt. As you were the one who made this edit, I'm curious as to where you found this information. I don't speak Japanese, and could only read the page with machine translation, so it's possible it actually was mentioned and was just mistranslated (or I simply didn't notice it). --Zygarbodor (talk) 07:00, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Sorry for the very late response. When looking into this, saw this floating around as a potential thing that may have occurred but I am likely wrong on it at this point. Will be removing the speculative parts when I am awake tomorrow, sorry about that. Frozen Fennec 06:39, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

Crispin Freeman

I think the English voice actor for Friede, Crispin Freeman, deserves his own Bulbapedia page (especially since he was one of the adapters for the English dub of the first few seasons of the 4Kids run). MrWii000 (talk) 03:42, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

I need to get caught up on the anime, only started to watch it recently. You are welcome to create a subpage on your userpage for him and work on it, once it has everything you feel should be on the page, feel free to reach out again and we will see if it looks good enough to mainspace. Also, in the future, please do not spam the same message on multiple staff member pages, thank you. You can create an mainspace candidate page by going to your userpage (currently not created) and adding /Crispin Freeman to the end of it. Frozen Fennec 04:03, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
Going by the notability requirements for voice actors, Freeman would be notable as they are voicing a recurring character.--ForceFire 05:15, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

Re:Userspace policy block

First, the monsters I use(d) my new template for are not Fakemon. I made that template to be able to use Bulbapedia templates with monsters and trainers from my own monster-catching RPG that I'm making with my school friend. The Attribute colors I made were for the 7 attributes ( Air , Fire , Earth , Water , Lightning , Iron , and Toxic ) and are meant to be used with my monster template. I didn't know that creating those templates violated the userspace policy, and if you know another way I can use those templates on my Bulbapedia userpage or a completely new wiki that would be greatly appreciated. :) --Thwackeyrabootdrizzile 01:28, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

Pokkén Infobox

Wanted to get your take on this after you gassed me up over it and also because you're in charge of colors chat.

I did the classic thing where I double-checked everything and mainspaced it and celebrated and then came back and realized that I kinda hate what I did with it. I used the type colors like the anime infobox did because that's what these had before and I didn't want to mess with it too badly, but it's hard to read on Shadow Mewtwo and Darkrai. It also has the issue where the type colors aren't actually relevant to Pokkén because the game doesn't have elemental types.

I was thinking I'd change the main color to the Silver color, which is what the templates on the Pokkén Tournament page use, and then do a border color based on the Battle Style (white/red/blue/green for Standard/Power/Speed/Technical). The main issue there would be figuring out which color templates would match the battle styles, which I assume aren't getting a template, though I guess the game colors would work well enough. The other aspect would be potential confusion about why eg Sceptile uses blue and Blastoise uses red, particularly since we don't have the symbols for the styles on-site. I put a mockup on my userpage.

The other thing I was considering was adding links to SuperCombo Wiki like the species infoboxes have for Smogon. Right now we have the bare minimum on how to actually play the game outside of the movelists, and we're not on track to have anything like that, so this would be the next best thing. I am planning to do the missing pages for the DX Pokémon and round out the existing pages more, but I'm not prepared to write up anything on competitive jargon.

Appreciate your reading this, I would value your input. --Apopheniac (talk) 02:37, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

If readability is an issue, I would suggest modifying the template to use lighter color for types since sometimes depending on the text color, it could make it harder to read. Alternatively, could also modify the text for those two specific pages to use white font in the Infobox. If it only affects those two pages, easier to swap the text color to a white text rather than modifying all the templates due to just two characters. Frozen Fennec 15:54, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
