Thank you, and have a good time editing here! Tiddlywinks (talk) 06:42, 19 January 2016 (UTC) |
The Preview Button
Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 06:42, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
- Remember, as a sort of soft guideline, try not to make lots of edits in a short span of time to the same page, especially to separate sections. Remember, you don't have to edit and save each individual section, you can always click to edit a higher section or the whole page so you can do it all together. It may get a bit more tedious, but it's basically a small bit of wiki etiquette. =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:03, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- I haven't seen your previous message on that subject! Sorry! :O I will stop saving every time I add something, I'll wait until I'm done! Again, thanks for the advice! I want to improve myself the best I can. :) MannedTooth (talk) 21:05, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- Beside, are my new additions/edits (mostly to Television) are good? Iw ould like to know if I'm doing a great job and should continue, or if it's going to be deleted once again. :s MannedTooth (talk) 21:21, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- I haven't dug around enough to give them a 100% verified seal of approval or anything =P , but it seems fine. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:48, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

A reminder... Please try not to make multiple tiny, repetitive edits to the same page... If you intend to look at something like Birch's evaluation quotes for a while on the same day, try just keeping track for yourself in a text file or something and just update the page here before you decide to go to bed. These things'll keep for that long at least. =P Tiddlywinks (talk) 00:55, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- Gotcha! Sorry I keep forgetting. :P MannedTooth (talk) 01:12, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
Please don't forget that you don't have to edit separate sections individually... If nothing else, you can always click "edit this page" at the top of the page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:19, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- The thing is, I pass the test into a program that will replace all the
...
by…
. The program can't handle all the quotes at once, so I was doing section by section, I'll keep doing that, by saving only when all done. Sorry! :P MannedTooth (Talk) 20:54, 29 February 2016 (UTC)- I don't think there were terribly many ellipses in any of the pages you edited. You probably could have done it just as fast if not faster manually, either within Firefox (I know it's very easy to find text there and you just paste over it, very quickly; IE it seems can't manage the same) or just with Notepad or any other basic text editor.
- And FWIW, the ellipses really aren't much of an issue anyway... You don't really have to worry about them if they're not somewhere you're editing already. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:08, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

- OK, and I guess you can't really tell beforehand (if it's a major character). But Notepad or something will still do find/replace perfectly fine, you shouldn't need any special program (especially if it's limiting you). Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:57, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- I'll use a text editor from now on. Should I continue working on them, or just ignore them unless I am editing as you said? MannedTooth (Talk) 21:59, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- I'm just going to jump in, hope Tiddlywinks doesn't mind. Please do not make edits in which all you do is replace
...
with…
. It is an incredibly minor and unnecessary edit that doesn't change the page byte size at all, changes absolutely nothing on the page itself, and pointlessly clogs up the Recent Changes and the page's history. If you insist on replacing them, at least edit something else (that actually needs editing) on the page while you're at it. Otherwise, if all you're going to do is replace...
with…
, it's better to just not edit the page at all. Thank you. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 22:09, 29 February 2016 (UTC)- Alright! Not wanting to cause any more trouble. :P MannedTooth (Talk) 22:13, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Manga pages
Hi! It's great you're so eager to help, but let me say a few things real quick. =)
Mostly, our manga pages mostly have a pretty uniform format which don't include your additions like moves, items, and places. Personally, I'm not against moves and places perhaps, but items seems pretty close to trivial to me. At any rate, that sort of major change should perhaps be discussed somewhere first, such as Bulbapedia talk:Project Manga.
A couple other things:
- Please don't assume something, like you did with "Thunderbolt, Thunder or Thunder Wave (appears to be an electric move, not specified)"
- Debuts and such are usually listed in chronological order, not alphabetical.
I'm sorry to undo all you did on PS001, but perhaps you'd like to help with some of the other needful tasks in Project Manga. =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 07:39, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, this is actually my first time joining a public wiki/encyclopedia. I should've been aware of the format already used. I was so happy to help that I couldn't help myself.
- What shall I do? Wait for you to undo everything I have done or is some of the contents I am adding, such as places can still be added?
- I am fully open to any advices or tutorials (I have read the manual of style) I want to contribute as much as possible. :) - unsigned comment from MannedTooth (talk • contribs)
- Well, like I said, the Project Manga page can be a good place to start if you're into the manga.
- Otherwise you may want to check out some of the other project pages, or just try to look around all the pages that need some sort of attention.
- You can also try start a discussion on Bulbapedia talk:Project Manga to see if other people support additions like places and moves.
- And one last thing: try to remember to sign your comments by typing 4 tildes (~) at the end. =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 07:59, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
- Slowly getting used to the website. Slowly but surely. I will gladly look in the Project Manga ! MannedTooth (talk) 08:04, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
Clarification
Regarding this revision, did you want me to write it on the page because I wrote on the edit summary of a previous revision of where I got Blue's Charmander's Ember from? PattyMan 02:03, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- Not too sure about what to do, beside I can't understand the Japanese website you sent me. The only reason why I said that is because I have the book in my ahnd right now and it's not directly specified that this was the move he used. If you are certain of your sources and this was already been discussed in the past, I am in no right to argue with you. MannedTooth (talk) 02:07, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- To be honest, there are at least a few moves not stated in Pokémon Adventures itself but on the site instead. Feel free to use the moves page to compare the ones on the Japanese website (don't worry about the other text) to the ones on Bulbapedia or ask a user who has full knowledge of the Japanese language. PattyMan 02:18, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Talk pages
Hi, just wanted to let you know that you should only use one talk page for your discussions, rather than making the same discussions on various talk page since it might come off as spam. Thank you.--ForceFire 04:09, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- Are you talking about my recent section on Mom or my message about a new template? MannedTooth (talk) 04:11, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
- Okay! :) MannedTooth (talk) 04:16, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Television
Why don't you let me finish up the ORAS TV shows? =)
I actually need to tweak some of your formats a bit, and there's actually text dumps that should make it a lot faster. Don't want you to have to waste time if I'm going to be trying to finish this up at the same time. =P Tiddlywinks (talk) 02:52, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- If you want to do so, I guess I am in no position to refuse. Beside, that was a pretty tough and long job. x.x
- I've looked at the dumps, and where/how can you find the TV's shows text? :O
- MannedTooth (talk) 03:07, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- A good text search. =P Your file system probably has it more or less by default.
- I'm realizing, you may also be able to help a bit when I've added it all by checking for missing line breaks. I can copy some of the ones you've already added, but the text dump itself ignores those, so unless I go through the shows myself, I'm not sure where they are... Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:19, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- I found out how to get the text, I have the file opened up in front of me. But I didn't quite understand your last part, what do you want from me exactly? MannedTooth (talk) 03:23, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it then, I'll just make sure to check it myself.
- On a different note, have you had Bunnelby at the start of your party or something? A few lines seem to have a variable Pokemon, so I'm wondering where that might come from exactly. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:48, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

- Nope, I've just started a new game. I currently have no Pokémon. MannedTooth (talk) 03:49, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- That's kind of interesting then, maybe it's a default. =P I'll check on that too, I guess. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:51, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Okay! :) I will advance in the games and add/correct quotes! :) But I do have a question, Is there any reason why there is no "Rival's Mother" page? I mean, it's a NPC from which we know a lot (husband name, son, etc.) and has quotes, it's a shame I have nowhere to insert them... MannedTooth (talk) 03:55, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- She doesn't do a lot. Her only notability comes from being related to notable characters, which isn't actually notable at all. =P Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:11, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- I thought that the goal of the Project Character (and of Bulbapedia in general) was to have the most information on EVERY character that we know of? I mean, I will not start adding quotes from NPC we don't even have a clue of who they are, but as soon as we know at least one of their relatives and that they are part of the game's script itself, she should, in my opinion, be notable. MannedTooth (talk) 04:13, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Anything and everything is required to meet general notability requirements.
- The long and short of it is: what do we know about her? She's Birch's wife: mention on his page he has a wife. She's the rival's mother: mention on his page that he has a mother. ...And what else is there really to say? (Quotes are not nearly enough to justify an article all by themselves.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:21, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- I didn't mean Brendan/May's Mother in particular, I was talking about a "Rival's Mother" page since she's a recurrent character throughout the whole serie. There would be a section for every generation/game alongside with quotes, relatives (of that game) and anything notable that might come later on. Nah? MannedTooth (talk) 04:24, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Nah. =P As far as I remember, none of the other rivals' mothers are any more notable than Brendan/May's. A page whose primary substance is basically "all the rivals have mothers" still isn't notable. Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:42, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Well, to my eyes, she is equally notable to the player's mother, but you must be more experienced with what's notable or not. :P One last thing, in the bulbapedia notability requirements, it is stated that "All English and Japanese Pokémon canon material is notable and relevant." soo..... why isn't she? (I know I'm putting you through a tough time recently, but I love arguing and making things clear) MannedTooth (talk) 04:47, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think that part really means to define a subject's (article's) notability.
- If you consider that whole paragraph, I think it's basically trying to say that foreign language stuff is not as notable as Japanese and English stuff. Like a difference in a foreign translation would be secondary to the English and/or Japanese story. Or foreign terms go in a very separate section at the bottom. Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:56, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Quotes
We don't want every random piece of dialogue in a game, only the dialgoue of specific, notable characters. glikglak 17:49, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
Talk page comments
It is entirely against Bulbapedia's talk page policy to alter or remove talk page comments. Please do not do this again. Thank you. Tiddlywinks (talk) 07:51, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- As I sent on your talk page, I was trying to delete my post entirely since I realized I shouldn't have started it out of "anger" in the first place, but the site won't let me. MannedTooth (talk) 07:53, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
Link templates
All Pokémon species pages are at "Name (Pokémon)", so making links like Poli leads to redirects. The p
template is for easy linking. Checking out the list of link templates is also a good idea. glikglak 19:20, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- I know that, but as I sent you on your talk page, I meant to redirect the Poliwhirl to Poli since it was Red's Pokémon, which has a name and a page, who did certain actions. So identifying Pokémon adds more details, no? MannedTooth (talk) 19:21, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
PS001 comments
You wanted to know, so why not. =P The only real mistakes (IMO) are:
- The children are trying to capture Nidorino. They're basically acting individually, not as a single entity.
- On the one hand, "lost in thought" is just a more recognizable/comfortable phrasing than "lost in his thoughts". But also, I think "lost in his thoughts" maybe isn't quite right unless such thoughts have been explicitly described. (It's confusing. His thoughts? What thoughts?)
Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:45, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- The problem here, is that, it's not the children who are trying to capture the Pokémon, but rather the group of children who works in team in order to capture it.
- As for the lost in thought, if you think it sounds better the way it was, I will revert it. :) MannedTooth (talk) 19:48, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- No. They're not working as a team. They're just taking turns. Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:50, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- I guess you're right! :P MannedTooth (talk) 19:51, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
New users
FYI, we usually only welcome users once they have made a contribution. Sure, a few might eventually make contributions, but on any given day, there are usually far more accounts created than actually get used very soon. Tiddlywinks (talk) 07:05, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Templates
Templates have to be made in your userspace, then approved by staff before being moved to the mainspace. I've moved your pages. glikglak 22:46, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, okay, thank you. So, how can I get them approved? :P MannedTooth (Talk) 22:48, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Creating new pages
Hello, I've noted that you tend to create a lot of new pages in the mainspace, so of questionable notability. This is to let you know that you can't just create a new page in the mainspace, to suggest a new page, make one in the userspace under User:MannedTooth/[subject]. AFterwards, the staff will look at the page to see whether it is notable enough for the mainspace. Thank you.--ForceFire 03:48, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
- Well, my pages are not that complete since I'm principally adding quotes. But for the notability, I made sure it was ok; Caterpie already existed. I mimicked it. The notability should be even. MannedTooth (Talk) 03:50, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
- Another page existing does not make it notable, it's also the content that counts the most. It was incomplete, very incomplete and having the page filled with quotes won't make it more notable either. This was mainly a message to tell you to create pages in your userspace and not the mainspace.--ForceFire 04:02, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
Link formats
Since you're actively editing this stuff, I just want to give you a heads up, please don't use underscores in wiki links. That is, Area 04
, not Area 04
.
As it happens, though, we actually have a specific template we prefer to use for links that take a form like that. Pokémon Picross Stages
produces that exact same link a little more compactly. (See also generally, Bulbapedia:List of link templates.) =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:23, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- So you want me to use
Pokémon Picross Stages
is that correct? MannedTooth (Talk) 17:24, 9 February 2016 (UTC)- Yes. =) Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:25, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Will do! But what about the Mythical Pokémon and the Passwords? Is there any direct link to those two? MannedTooth (Talk) 17:26, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- I've never played Picross myself. I'm not sure what you mean, unless you're asking about the "DL" template. But if you are, you can use
Pokémon Picross
to get the same link you used on Manaphy. Any link that would look likeB
can beA
. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:32, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

Templates, again
I told you only four days ago that you are not allowed to make templates in the mainspace. We don't make color templates for side games anymore, which you should have picked up on by there not being any for games after Gen IV. If you do this again, you will likely be blocked, so please remember that templates must be approved by staff. glikglak 18:54, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't thought that a simple color would be such a deal.. :s MannedTooth (Talk) 19:00, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- So, can I complete what I started with the Picross locations?
I will absolutely ask staff the next time I want to add a template. But just for my information, why did you stop adding colors? MannedTooth (Talk) 19:30, 9 February 2016 (UTC)- Using
Skill color light
, yes. Singular spin-off games never got their own colors. Only the Mystery Dungeon and Ranger series had them (Battle Revolution got one for some reason, I don't know what's up with that). And with MD going to single entries rather than paired, there was little reason to continue making new colors when we had enough to cover most possibilities. glikglak 21:38, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

- So, can I complete what I started with the Picross locations?
- To be honest, I didn't even intented to add a new template for a new color for Pokémon Picross, I was "forced" to do so because of the way was made. The name of the game needed to be the same as the color as it shared the same variable. So I can't use Skill color light for this one. How am I supposed to deal with that? MannedTooth (Talk) 21:43, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

- Because it was the color I was previously using with my Picross Color. MannedTooth (Talk) 18:16, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- ...Why did you change them to
Doncha/Hazel
Could you explain why you redirected Doncha to Hazel?
As a complete aside...you don't need to change links like Zygarde 10% Forme
to use the DL template. Templates are mostly meant to save space, and the DL template only adds to it in those cases. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:20, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- For Hazel, Grandpa called her "Doncha" once. AS for the DL template, if it's meant to save space, I don't see how it can do that, as
B
(9 characters) will always be smaller thanA
(10 characters). Or am I mistaken? MannedTooth (Talk) 15:28, 11 February 2016 (UTC)- Where does Grandpa call her that?
- In DL's case, it mostly avoids repetition. Three explicit arguments are reduced to a simpler two. But if you just replace the basic wiki link format with the DL template format, keeping all three arguments, then there's really no point to that substitution. And templates shouldn't be used unnecessarily. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:35, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- There's no way to see how much bytes you will add/remove before saving an edit right? So that I would know if this template should be use or not.
- For Grandpa: http://jb2448.info/var/resizes/Magical_Pokemon_Journey/Volume_1/03_Oh_That_Cute_Cute_Jigglypuff/002.jpg?m=1377098560 MannedTooth (Talk) 15:38, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- That's another way to write "Don't you", not some nickname for Hazel...
- Also,
BB
vsA
is actually 11 vs 11 characters. A and B are not literals, they're (very literally) variables. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:44, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- For Grandpa: http://jb2448.info/var/resizes/Magical_Pokemon_Journey/Volume_1/03_Oh_That_Cute_Cute_Jigglypuff/002.jpg?m=1377098560 MannedTooth (Talk) 15:38, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't know that they used compressed form at that point. :P Can you remove the page? :O MannedTooth (Talk) 16:03, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
VA/Dub edits
I'd like to ask you to give a bit more consideration to the sorts of edits you are making recently.
As an example, On Temacu's father, you added two things...
1
: The template right before that explicitly states that this character has no official name. If he has no official name, there's no dub name to find. That's a disappointing mistake to see. It's not a difficult concept, just pay attention to what you're editing, please.2
: Those Pokemon do not seem likely to have been voiced. I've looked at a few of your other recent edits, and there are a few others where I'm not certain some Pokemon would have been voiced either. In short, please pay more attention to what you're editing rather than just adding this template everywhere a VA is not listed. If one VA is listed but not the other, sure, then the template is okay. But if neither is listed, it would be good if you could confirm that the Pokemon is actually voiced at all.
Like Kogoro said on her talk page, what we most want are quality edits more than quantity. Right now you seem to be focusing a bit too hard on just doing any edits you can to increase your edit count, and you're not giving as much attention as you should be to the correctness of those edits. Please take more care. Thank you. Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:44, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I won't deny that I am trying to get some edits, but I assumed that every Pokémon was voiced, now that you say it, some may not be. I'll verify it from now on. Sorry. MannedTooth (Talk) 14:47, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
- I am trying to help you undo my double "name missing". Just to let you know, I did this because I saw it on one page already, I thought it was weird, but I also thought it was part of the format, so I just did. MannedTooth (Talk) 14:58, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
Card update
There's a much more significant amount of stuff that is supposed to be updated when going through each card updating its template format, and I need you to work on focusing on those other updates if you are going to continue. They are detailed here MaverickNate 04:03, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
- Wrote them in a notepad, will go through them when I update a card. Thanks! MannedTooth (Talk) 04:10, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
- Another thing to look for is making sure Holofoil is capitalized, and that Non Holofoil as a term is not hyphenated. MaverickNate 00:50, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- You also need to make sure you are modifying the initial line of the Release information section in this way, make sure the set categories are in the same order as the infobox, and not remove the space that separates the Card text section from the section that comes after it. MaverickNate 00:54, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- Alright! I'll take note of that. Thanks again for helping me getter better! :) MannedTooth (Talk) 00:56, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- If you take the time to edit a page for any other reason (ie, removing speculation, you should also do the update too. MaverickNate 20:49, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- I actually just happened to find it (random page). I thought that I'd better do it since I saw it. MannedTooth (Talk) 20:52, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Updated
If you are only updating the template, please put Updating only TCG card template. This way we know what card's still need to have their release information and card data checked. Thanks, SirFinkleBottom 23:12, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- Well, actually I am updating everything, simply, these cards do not have anything else to be checked. MannedTooth (Talk) 23:13, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

- Oh, okay then! :P Gotcha! MannedTooth (Talk) 23:20, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- One more final harassment. The Updating only TCG Template only applies to cards that have release information and/or you haven't checked anything about the card other than just updating the Template. For example, I go through sets fast so I don;t have time to look at all the info so I put the Updating TCG template as a note. Thanks, again :P SirFinkleBottom 23:22, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Voice actors
Hi there. We require that all users cite their sources for any voice actor information (work in progress) in the edit summaries. Do you have a valid source for the past few voice actors you've added to pages? If not, they will be removed. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 00:55, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- They all come from the episode's credits, I basically match the transcription of the Pokémon/character name and then use an OCR for the voice actor. MannedTooth (Talk) 00:56, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
This/this Pokémon
Saw your edit. Is consistent use of lowercase "this" official policy? I was under the impression that while "this Pokémon" is used in most cases, "This Pokémon" should be used instead when the Pokémon name starts the sentence, since a capital letter would be grammatically correct in that case while a lowercase letter would not. Kind of like how the newer cards handle "This" vs "this". I've been changing them occasionally as I noticed them for the past year or so at least. If it's a rule that I'm not aware of then I'll go and change them back.--Cold (talk) 16:32, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not quite certain if this is a rule or some sort, this is just the way things have been done here (my own observation). But if we were to discuss this, I think we should think of the annotation as something between parentheses. Kind of like:
Aggron (this Pokémon) is...
While Aggron (this Pokémon) is...
- So basically, it seems normal for me to never user a capital letter, let me know what you think. MannedTooth (Talk) 17:32, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- Opening the sentence gets a capital letter as if it were opening the sentence (since it theoretically is) MaverickNate 18:20, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

Redirects/accents
FYI, the wiki can automatically direct you to the proper page even if you search for "Pokemon" and there's no redirect for that unaccented title. So you don't really need to create redirects for every page that has an accented character. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:13, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I just happened to stumbled upon the Manual of style, and it mentioned
please create a redirect from the title that doesn't have the accented é
. I just thought "hey, that's something I can do!" MannedTooth (Talk) 15:15, 6 September 2016 (UTC)- That part was outdated. While in the past such redirects were necessary, a MediaWiki update in recent years rendered it no longer necessary. So really, you do not need to continue creating such redirects. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 17:15, 24 September 2016 (UTC)

Creating new pages
If you are unsure if a page needs to be created, don't just make the page anyway and ask later, always ask a staff member first and get their approval. Just creating the page just makes you look impatient.--ForceFire 04:57, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

- Not sure what made me type out "creating new pages" and not "updating pages", which was what I meant. What I meant was updating pages, in reference to these edits. If you're not sure which pages needs updating, ask first. Don't just blindly update it.--ForceFire 11:53, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I was only following instructions Nate gave me, which I can't find since I'm not on my computer at the moment, but I know for a fact that this oage needs to be updated since it had the old tcg template, the only thing is I wanted to know if I forgot something before moving on to other pages. Long story short; I knew this page needed to be updated, I only wanted to know if everything I did was conform. :p MannedTooth (Talk) 11:58, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Linking
FYI, as a rule, a link only needs to be done once in a section. (At the same time, though, that's not to say that every section would necessarily need a link to the same page.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:33, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- So, shall we continue adding them or what? OR are you just saying not to add the anime link on every image if it's already there once? MannedTooth (Talk) 20:38, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Creating new pages pt. 3
You've been told this before, but yet again, please don't create new pages in the mainspace; create them in your userspace and stick a mainspace
template at the top if you'd like staff to review it eventually. And especially don't just create pages in the mainspace that are largely incomplete. The page you just created, a page intended to display the names of exclusive items in different languages, had only the English names. A page as incomplete as that has absolutely no place in the mainspace. Please keep this warning in mind when editing in the future. Thank you. --Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) 05:17, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry, I was filling it with many deutsch translation at the very moment. I thought we could have it so that other people can add what they find but yeah, I guess you're right, that's too big of a page to be left empty for the moment. Sorry again ! :P Gonna fill it on my username then add the mainspace tag MannedTooth (Talk) 05:23, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
List of exclusive items in other languages
Hello it's good that you took the initiative to create the page but I feel that it would be easier to organize the page in the same way that Exclusive item is. I just wanted to see what you thought about this. Further more the names from Sky are not present as far as I can see on PokéWiki, and no Korean names exist for the items introduced in Sky so these need to be marked as such. --Raltseye prata med mej 17:28, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- Why do you think that? The exclusive page is organized that way because you actually see the Pokémon and their families in order. But on the translation page it would look like a mess to me, this way, you can search exactly the type of item you want to find. As for the Korean names, I haven't got into it yet, I barely just created the page. MannedTooth (Talk) 17:46, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- I think it would be convenient since the "main page" is organized that way, otherwise the readers will have to read that page in one way and read the In other languages page in a different way and that's unnecessary, also since the names does not have anything in common with each other other than the names. It's easier and makes more sense to organize them in the way they are connected, and not alphabetically. --Raltseye prata med mej 18:44, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oh well, even though I don't agree that it would be easier, organize them as such then, I'll trust you on that one. MannedTooth (Talk) 19:07, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

- I must apologize but I don't feel like reorganizing this page, at the moment I'll leave it be. Also when adding Korean names could you add the transliteration in italics next to it? That goes for all the Korean names you have added to articles, that would be nice. Thank you. --Raltseye prata med mej 13:50, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
- To be honest, I never really understood that "transliteration" thingy, care to explain? :P MannedTooth (Talk) 17:52, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
- Transliteration is the act of writing a written language in a different alphabet, we do this for all languages that uses a different alphabet like Russian, Korean, Chinese etc. Check out any mainseries page for reference like Ash Ketchum e.g. --Raltseye prata med mej 19:05, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I get that, but how do you do that? Like do you only use google translate and that's it? Because, for Ash, it says 한지우 (Han Jiu) but GT gives me "hanjiu", so how do I know how to spell it properly? I am able to add the korean translations pretty easily, but understanding the langage, not really. MannedTooth (Talk) 01:17, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- Just to chime in, 한지우 is Han Jiu because it's a name (Han is the family name). And to add, I've noticed that you sometimes use Korean Pokemon Wiki as a source. I know it's hard to find Korean sources, but try to find more reliable sources if possible. For example, they have the names for Generation III exclusive Mails, but the games never came out in Korea so they are only fan translations of the names. I suspect the MD material is probably correct though.--Wowy(토크) 05:52, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Incomplete vs stub
Incomplete and stub mean two different things, and provide two different categories on pages. Please don't remove one simply because the other is there. It messes with Bulbapedia's Articles needing improvement and Pages needing attention in negative ways that we don't want. MaverickNate 08:42, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- Well, it is exactly because it is different that I am doing this, because a page like this one doesn't need more information (like digging up a date, or a stat) but rather to expand the article, unless pages like these. I just thought that it was "useless" to have both since one is "more accurate" (?) than the other. Anyway, I won't remove templates if I'm told not to. Want me to undo some of my previous edits? MannedTooth (Talk) 10:16, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
French contra European and Canadian French
Just wanted to say that we distinguish between European French and Canadian French only when they are different from each other, otherwise just writing French is adequate. --Raltseye prata med mej 12:21, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I thought there was only the european version since it's the only official langages in which the game came out so that, when we learn about a new term for the canadian we add it. MannedTooth (Talk) 23:14, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
Recent edits
Please do not spend an edit doing this. It does nothing to improve the article and it just clogs the recent changes. MaverickNate 22:13, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
- What? How does that "clog up" the recent changes? And even if it does, why does it matter? This is something that we both agreed about in the past. You told me that the proper way to write these was to include the "'s" in the tt template. I don't see how this became unwanted? I'm only trying to go through ALL of the card quotes to make sure they are accurate and normalized. Like I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, I'm just legit lost. MannedTooth (Talk) 01:49, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- Well, apparently I can't find where we talked about this, maybe it's on a page's summary or it's someone else (Glik?) but I remember being told to do it this way, and well, either way, we should stay consistent, so choose which way you'd prefer, but we need one! :P PS: Personally, I think it's nicer to do like Pikachu's rather than Pikachu's. What do you think? MannedTooth (Talk) 02:09, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- It has been decreed unworthy to be worth the edit because it effectively doesn't change anything on the page, and the edit shouldn't be done if it is the only thing happening. This parallels the ruling on changing British vs American English spellings. Yes, there should be a standard, and there is (Pikachu's) but because of the precedent set by the rule of "Don't make unnecessary changes," it cannot be changed unless the edit includes additional improvements to the article. MaverickNate 03:26, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Redirects
I'm not a mod, but I don't think it's good to make redirects such as Lycanroc tcg. I've seen similar cases before and the mods say it encourages bad linking. --Celadonkey 15:26, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
