Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Ruixiang95!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

 • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
 • Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
 • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
 • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
 • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
 • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
 • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
 • The use of link templates is official policy.
 • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
 • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
 • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
 • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
 • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Ruixiang95/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
 • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
 • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! ----M-M-DRule! 09:43, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. For example, Pelipper instead of just Pelipper. This is so you don't unintentionally link to a disambiguation page.

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the list of link templates. --Shiningpikablu252 14:20, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments

Removing talk page comments, including the initial welcome template, is prohibited per Bulbapedia's talk page policy. Please do not remove any comments in the future. If you wish to clean old comments away, you should archive your talk page instead. Thank you! --CuboneKing 01:30, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Instead of editing the userspace, as a wiki, we encourage users to edit the mainspace. So, if you edit the mainspace more often, you will be allowed to edit the userspace more. Thanks! ---- MAGNEDETH 04:37, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, these are blocked per Bulbapedia's userspace policy. I am sorry, but I am going to have to delete them. Not sure if you are aware of this, but OneManga has closed its manga-hosting section, so you may want to remove the link you have on your userpage. --PhantomJunkie 21:08, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Why is composer/arranger info unnecessary?

I think it's very important to differentiate who wrote each track. One of the goals of Project Music is to be comprehensive, is it not? At least if you don't want such in depth detail in an article, allow me to post a link to each respective album on VGMdb, which has all that information and more. I can assure you that I'm not the only one who cares enough about composer/arranger breakdown to have it appear on such a comprehensive Pokémon site such as this. Thanks for reading this! Maxo 17:02, 23 October 2010 (UTC)t

I don't think it belongs on the article but I could be wrong. Please bring it up with Project Music's leader, Umeko. For now we'll leave it out until this issue gets resolved. Jellotalk 17:25, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Card pages

Your work on making card pages is excellent! Keep up the good work! All I ask is that you put in the "transdex" option with the English Black 2 and White 2 Pokédex entries. MaverickNate 20:56, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Now that we are working on the cards at the same time, I ask that you stick to the Spiral Force side. I just got edit conflicted with Zweilous, which just wasted about 10 minutes for me, lol. I'm going through Thunder Knuckle from top to bottom, and I'd just appreciate it. MaverickNate 06:11, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

A note about appropriate card pages to English release

I noticed you helping out with Plasma Storm a little bit. Something that I am compelled to tell you, however, is that you cannot link to an image that does not exist. I noticed you link to what the victory Piece image will be named, instead of where the file actually is. This can hinder display of the image, and it generally causes the page to be stuck in the broken file category even though the file exists. Preferably, you need to move the image before you finish the edit to the card page. If you must leave the image where it is, due to inexperience on the Archives, for example, please leave the image field in the card infobox unchanged. MaverickNate 07:15, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

I doubt I'll be able to edit the pages now, since if I edit the articles without editing the image, you have to probably edit the articles with the image again. As I think by doing that, it'll be troublesome for you, and even add another history to the pages. --Ruixiang95 (talk) 09:14, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than three edits per day and make sure you contribute to our mainspace more than your userspace. This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our server. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! ----Pokemaster97 21:07, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Improvement notes

Hello! I noticed you finish out the Legendary Treasures cards. First off, thank you! After the first 115, I was pretty dead tired of doing it anymore. I just wanted to send you a few notes of improvement for next time, if you are interested in appropriating cards for their English release.

 • 1)Make sure to remove the TCG Unreleased template from the top of card pages. Those are only for Japanese only cards, and it should be removed upon the English release.
 • 2)The set category always needs to be added. This one was Category:Legendary Treasures cards. It typically gets added directly above whatever the Japanese equivalent category is.
 • 3)Make sure to update the appropriate Category:Cards by Pokémon pages that need to be updated whenever you do a bunch. I noticed a few EX Battle Boost cards that weren't ever added to those pages, and that can be prevented as long as we keep on adding them whenever we make changes to any card page.

There were a few instances where you called the Japanese equivalent of the Radiant Collection cards "EX Battle Boost", or forgot to change a "Shiny Collection" here or there, but otherwise everything else was spot on. Images can only currently be moved by staff, so I wasn't expecting you to grab that part. Good job overall! I really appreciated the help. MaverickNate 03:19, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Cards by Pokémon

As we are in the middle of repairing the Japanese Rarity scheme, I must ask you to refrain from adding the newest set of Pokémon cards to their "<name> (TCG)" pages. MaverickNate 16:38, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

This needs to be changed on Pokémon debuting in the XY expansion (AKA, only any Pokémon listed as debuting in the Collection X or Collection Y). MaverickNate 09:43, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Phantom Gate

I just wanted to come here and say good job on the Phantom Gate card articles you created! Your help was really appreciated and It's refreshing to see that kind of initiative taken. So, thank you! And I hope you keep it up! MaverickNate 03:45, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Cardtext update

Would you mind holding off changing cards to use the Cardtext templates? There are a few other things Nate and I are doing while changing them, so we'd like to make sure they're all being done at once, to avoid more work in the future. We also often run into cards that need us to discuss something or tweak the format slightly. glikglak 21:14, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Alright, here's a checklist of things that need to be done while updating:
 • Check everything against the card to make sure it's actually correct.
 • Remove excess spaces from lines.
 • Make sure opening lines are formatted as "[Pokémon] is a [type] [evolution stage] Pokémon card".
 • For attacks that are moves/Abilities/items, match the jtrans.
 • Check for alternate Holo and other promo versions of the card for the release section. Remember to check the Additional cards tables of expansion pages as well as the Miscellaneous/Unnumbered promos page.
 • Things that differentiate a print from another (stamps, logos, etc) should go in the release section as opposed to trivia.
 • Remove speculative lines from origin sections ("[attack] is very similar to [move]" and such).
 • Put categories in correct order. The expansions go first, then the illustrators, then the following applicable categories in this order: Holographic, Jumbo, Secret, and Full Art. Remember to add Holographic if there are alternate Holo versions.
If you run into anything that you're unsure of, ask Nate or I. I'd like you to start where I've left off, on Secret Wonders Wormadam. glikglak 01:56, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
LV.X need the third bullet point. glikglak 19:10, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
Make sure to change any instance of "non-holographic" to "Non Holofoil" MaverickNate 17:31, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Transdex technically always belongs below jdex in the card Pokédex template, and only gets moved above jdex when the card is translated and the entry in the template is switched over to regular dex. MaverickNate 08:47, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
Ah, I see. I will take note of it. Because from previous articles in previous expansions, I always sees that the transdex is above the jdex. — Ruixiang95 20:15, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
I think that just happens as a preparation for the card's eventual move into an English card. Otherwise, the idea behind it is to present the original text first and then present a translation. But since it has no effect of the visual output of the page, it shouldn't ever be edited just to change that around. MaverickNate 21:17, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
Your new pages still contain the outdated pre-Gen III Heights and Weights when you copy the page from the Base Set equivalent. I need you to use the Pokédex stats from a more recent card for each Pokémon. MaverickNate 21:31, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Evolutions

Since we're within minutes of moving the images, I am going to ask you to wait to edit any more pages until those are moved. All the pages should have everything updated at the same time and not in pieces. Thank you. MaverickNate 22:01, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

The images are uploaded and moved. It's good to go ahead again. If you do, however, I would like it if you either started at 1 and worked forward or started at 113 and worked backwards. It's much harder slash impossible to have more than one person working if someone is just doing cards in a random order. MaverickNate 22:36, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
I realized some of the holographic cards are not moved yet. How do I proceed with these? I'm also about to hit the "Save" button on the Evolutions set page. What's the card for 110/108? And should the Exeggutor and Here Comes Team Rocket! etc. be considered Rare Secret or Uncommon?? — Ruixiang95 23:23, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
All the images that will currently be moved are currently moved. The rest will be another day. This should include any questions you may still have about mystery cards. The five secret cards should be listed as  . MaverickNate 23:38, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

Cards by Pokémon SM1

There's also the Sun & Moon Starter Set that has reprints of things from Collection Sun & Moon, like Pinsir. Don't forget those when adding the SM1 stuff. Additionally, when you make it to Gen 7 Pokémon, the prev/next template is never supposed to link to Pokémon that do not have a card released yet. For example, Pyukumuku would link to Palossand and Togedemaru, because Pokémon 772-776 do not have any card at all yet. MaverickNate 10:11, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Alright. And the Sun & Moon Starter Set be placed first or the Collection Sun/Moon? Can each individual cards be created yet, because you stopped at Butterfree, so I thought maybe you have something to make sure of. and the "TCGUnreleased" template doesn't have to place already right? — Ruixiang95 10:15, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
The Japanese official site uploaded clean images for each of the cards, so I've been uploading them since I've stopped at Butterfree. That's the only reason, they can be created as long as the translations are copied from Bulbanews, in order to keep the whole site consistent. The Sun & Moon Starter Set would be placed second. Main expansion would always be first (edit:with releases that are all on the same day). TCGUnreleased template should be placed because the cards aren't released in English yet until the prereleases in January. We just have the luxury of having the full set list from the leak on pokemoncenter.com, and are able to create the pages there instead of having to move them later. MaverickNate 10:20, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
There's also the first line that needs to be changed on Gen 7 Pokémon. Dartrix now debuted in the Sun & Moon expansion, not the Sun & Moon Starter Set. MaverickNate 10:38, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
There isn't any Decidueye card (non-GX) around right? And would the article would still be debuted in the Starter Set, yeah? And ha. I was just wondering honestly if I'm actually causing to be troublesome or I'm actually helping. Cause I see that every set/expansion, I would always be doing something wrong. Haha. Just wondering. — Ruixiang95 10:42, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
For Decidueye and the other starters, there is a non-GX print included in the English Sun & Moon expansion with no Japanese equivalent announced currently. Since those three cards, and the GX, are all included in the English expansion, the debut would be Sun & Moon, since we always prioritize the English release.
And, no, you aren't troublesome. For the vast majority of the cards, you do a wonderful job. I should tell you that more often! I just happen to really only message you about the exceptions to the normal rules, because those are usually where something weird or different has to be done for whatever reason. I'd rather message you once about the Sun & Moon Starter Set than have to add in the 59 cards to the pages on my own. The start of a Generation is always one of the more difficult groups of sets. I may be a bit direct in my messages, but I'm only ever trying to help you improve, so that it will be easier for you in both the near and far futures. It's always way too much work for one person to do, so I appreciate the help every set you come in to help. So please keep it up! =] MaverickNate 11:02, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
One more thing! Each Pokémon-GX has a Full Art version in both the English and Japanese sets, and a Hyper Rare version (only confirmed in the Japanese set as the second Secret rare). MaverickNate 11:28, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Finally found something as to not clog up the revision history of this talk page. I have no problem with your use of language and style. I'm just worried that I'm taking more of your time. Anyway, Cosmoem was created as Cosmeom. You want to move the page or create the article with the right name, and delete the current one? — Ruixiang95 16:30, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
You aren't don't worry! And thank you for catching that error! MaverickNate 16:37, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Copying from Serebii

Hey. I noticed you added a list of Magikarp patterns to Pokémon: Magikarp Jump. I'm fairly certain you copied the data from Serebii because you duplicated a pretty crucial error that Serebii made. I'd like to ask whether any of the other things you added were also copied from Serebii? It's extremely important that we not steal from other sites for a lot of reasons, foremost among them: it damages our relationships with those websites; copying other people's work without crediting them is both immoral and illegal; and most of all, it runs the risk of producing duplicated errors like you apparently did when you likely copied the Magikarp pattern list. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:07, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Quotes Additions

I realize I hadn't done this yet, so I wanted to thank you for your help in filling out the quote pages for so many of the Sun and Moon entries. I've been trying to handle it in my off-time, and all of your hard work on the entries has really helped them come along! Thanks again for all the help on the quotes! dpRuddertail (talk) 19:39, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

Question Regarding Edit

While you did catch a couple of typos and make some other fixes that make sense, I do have a question regarding your Pokémon ordering. When I first started doing these pages, my understanding was that the ordering was featured Pokémon, than by type order (with colorless last), then within each type alphabetical by the final evolution with its earlier forms below it. This presumes the order with Electrode first, then Emolga, then Magnezone and the Thundurus entries. Additionally, this would place Kangaskhan last, after White Kyurem, in the other deck, though you placed it in between the Fire types with Reshiram after it. Thus, I would like to know what method you are using for your list ordering? Or is there a Web site list whose order you are following for this? CycloneGU (talk) 19:40, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

For the ordering of the Pokémon, I was actually following what was on the back of the box and from here, and the Item/Supporter from the back of the box alone. I personally have not edit these "Battle Arena Decks" before, but usually I would do like this for other decks. However, looking at the other articles now, the back of the product usually organized them by your ordering. So if that is what's trending with these deck articles, feel free to revert back to your ordering. — Ruixiang95 07:24, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
The Best Practice for writing out decklists is follow the packaging order.MaverickNate 02:48, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
OK, that's a good point, and I didn't consider that for some reason. Thanks for enlightening me there. CycloneGU (talk) 19:19, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Shaymin

I think there's some middle ground then. It doesn't work on a couple tweaked Shaymin I have. At least not in Soul Silver. Somedumguy (talk) 15:14, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Perhaps by Generation? But know this, we don't usually add information pertaining to hacked/modified or glitch Pokémon in articles not relating to both. — Ruixiang95 15:18, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
All right, fair enough. Double checked the event article, and looks like my assumption was correct though, based on the trivia. I'll leave it out of the Gracidea article if that's how you guys do it here. Thanks, Somedumguy (talk) 15:22, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
According to the trivia on that page, it only points to Generation IV only (which isn't actually stated on that page (yet)). Not Gen. V to VII. — Ruixiang95 15:29, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, my bad on the wording. I meant Gen IV only for my last message. Although, there's a possibility that Gen V also has this restriction, based on the acquisition info. I have no way to check this though, since I don't have a fateful encounter Shaymin to obtain one in Black in the first place. Somedumguy (talk) 15:32, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Shuffle

I replied to you on my Archives talk page, but since you seem to have missed it, I'm bringing it up here. I need to know what the redirects are needed under so I can create them. Gengar's Spooky sprite, for instance, I'm not sure what to use. Let me know what the template's bringing up for each sprite you named and I'll take a look. CycloneGU (talk) 19:40, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

 • Gengar (Spooky) - Shuffle094SpookyM.png
 • Sableye (Spooky) - Shuffle302SpookyM.png
 • Mewtwo X (Shiny) - Shuffle150SMX.png
 • Mewtwo Y (Shiny) - Shuffle150SMY.png
 • Tyranitar (Shiny) - Shuffle248SM.png
 • Audino (Winking) - Shuffle531WinkingM.png
Sorry, I'm not that active on Archives. Do you need the original filename as well? — Ruixiang95 20:51, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
OK, are you saying that these Mega sprites have not been uploaded? Or do they actually not exist, defaulting upon evolution to the regular sprite? I would imagine Shinies would have their own, but I guess to know for sure I'd have to check the Mega evolutions for them. I don't have Winking Audino to check, or the Gengar, but I have the others. Are you saying that Spooky Gengar Mega evolves to the regular Mega Gengar, and same for the Audino? CycloneGU (talk) 07:01, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Ok. For Gengar Spooky, Sableye Spooky, and Audino Winking, when they Mega Evolve, the Mega sprites for them is the same as the regular Mega (forms) sprites. But when looking at this section of the page (the Pokémon Shuffle part), you see that redlink for the Spooky Mega sprites? So all that is required is to create a page with the words: " #REDIRECT ". So that it doesn't show up as a redlink in this section. For Mewtwo X/Y and Tyranitar, just do what you did for Audino: link. The reason why I can't do this myself is because I'm still a "lower rank" at the Archives; I don't have the permission to do that yet. — Ruixiang95 11:43, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Just want to note that all autoconfirmed users have the permissions to create file redirect pages. If you're confused because clicking on the red link brings you to the upload page, that's what it looks like for all (autoconfirmed) users. What I personally do to create file redirects is click on the edit button for any existing file page, and then change the URL to go to the intended file page. You should be able to place your redirect there. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 12:51, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Oh, I get it now. It worked. Alright, CycloneGU, I can do it myself then. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 13:24, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
I see what you were referring to now, with the template assuming the Mega's name just needs an M tacked on to it. That said, I see you have figured out how to do the redirects as I see the Mega under the Spooky now. Happy to see it working. CycloneGU (talk) 16:01, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Shuffle 3DS version history 1.4.28 and 1.4.29 rearranging

I noticed that you rearranged the information for shuffle 3DS 1.4.28 and 1.4.29 on the version history page to make the dates line up, but I think their arrangement before was more accurate as to what these two updates actually did.

Necrozma and Rayquaza are listed separate from the other November 14th events in 1.4.28 because their stages' data weren't added into the game until 1.4.29. When 1.4.28 players opened the game on November 14, Daily Pokemon #6, Rowlet Great Challenge, and Lunala Ultra Challenge all appeared but Necrozma and Rayquaza didn't appear until the game was updated to 1.4.29. In the case of the safari we know it was part of 1.4.28 because dataminers found data for it alongside Rowlet and Lunala the week prior, but were not able to find data for Necrozma and Rayquaza until 1.4.29 was added.

That being said, it seems like dataminers couldn't find the data for the Daily Pokemon #6 repeat in 1.4.28 either, so its previous placement in 1.4.28 was incorrect. Boblers (talk) 19:44, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Or shall I arrange like "It adds the data for the <stage>" and "<stage> went live", like I did for 3ds version 1.2.6 (the Arceus stage). So in this case, it would be
1.4.28:
On Nov 14, it adds the data for the repeat runs of Daily Pokemon #6, Rowlet Great Challenge, and Lunala Ultra Challenge.
On Nov 17, it adds the data for the repeat run of repeat of Pokemon Safari #17.
1.4.29:
It adds the Necrozma and Rayquaza stages. The repeat runs of Daily Pokemon #6, Rowlet Great Challenge, and Lunala Ultra Challenge went live.
Ruixiang95 20:48, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I think that works. --Boblers (talk) 21:00, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Edit of Ultra Space Wilds

Hey, Ruixiang95! It has come to my attention that you removed my edit of the Ultra Space Wilds page, claiming that my trivia note was unnecessary. I'd have to disagree with you on this because if my trivia note wasn't necessary, then why is the trivia for Ultra Ruins needed? In fact, why would any trivia be needed? The point of trivia is not to provide important information on a subject, but to give notes on something interesting that otherwise wouldn't be notable, and an easter egg like the music for the Ultra Space Wilds would definitely qualify as trivia. Owner's cards versus SP cards

Thank you for the edit to the Owner's Pokémon page, in undoing all of my own work adding in the M cards I decided to bridge the two articles by explaining the difference and similarities between the two different cards and agree with your edit. Thanks again talk

Tentacool name origin

You said that the combination of tentacle and tackle as in fishing tackle used for ensnaring prey made no sense for Tentacool's name origin. Though please explain how the combo of tentacle and cool make sense. The word cool makes less sense as it doesn't live in cold waters, isn't an ice type Pokémon.I've abridged the two, though my addition adds a complexity to the names origins PardescanSlowbro (talk) 12:35, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

Ancient Trait cards

Ancient Trait cards a re clearly another card type, it says in the description they perform differently from other card types plus the design differences they have. I was having a discussion with Glik who had my Half Art Card page deleted because he said his page covered the same information and that the cards were referred to as Ancient Traits. These cards need to be recognised or alternatively a card design difference tab included to acknowledge these cards a re different from the typical cards.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 04:09, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Those cards are card classifications—it can be found at "Category:Pokémon trading card classifications"—they are not card types. And Full Art cards work the same way as their respective Non Full Art counterparts. (Pokémon-EX/GX etc.) — Ruixiang95 09:39, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

About cards from Forbidden Light

Just curious since I got a notification on this change, adding back the "on the japanese" part of the Release Information section. How should this be tackled in this case, since it's the first time (as far as I'm aware) that the Japanese name for an expansion is the same as the western one... Should it just be left like in this case, or do something like "in the Forbidden Light expansion, first released in the Japanese expansion of the same name"? Thanks! --Starg09 15:02, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Currently, the English Full Art and Rainbow Rare prints of Zygarde-GX have not been revealed yet, so the Japanese part should still remain. When all three English prints have been revealed, you can take a look at the Shining Legends cards. — Ruixiang95 16:00, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Regarding Dunsparce (TCG)

Hey Ruixiang! I mentioned this on the talkpage, but is there any reason why this Dunsparce isn't merged with the other Dunsparce? I can't seem to see any particular differences at all. HP, moves, type, Weakness/Resistance, Retreat Cost are all the same. ht14 04:55, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

I have seen both pages now that you mentioned it and they indeed are exact reprint. However, I realize that our Japanese interwiki also separate the two prints. So if Bulbapedia decides to merged them both, it can also be done. However, I have no exact idea how to incorporate the Pokédex data for SM6b into the EX Sandstorm page as the EX print features the e-Reader strip and SM6b does not. The e-Reader strip is a ==()== header. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 21:46, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Hmm, just looking at the way the multiple prints were handled with Charizard, perhaps the EX print will have the e-Reader strip stated as ==e-Reader data (EX Sandstorm)== and there would be another Pokédex header specifying it's from Champion Road? Alternatively, and I guess it's not the standard format either, we can have ==Pokédex data==, and then ===EX Sandstorm===, followed by a blurb saying that this data was acquired from the e-Reader. What are your thoughts on that? ht14 00:04, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
Consulted Glik and it's now done. Thanks for the notice! — Ruixiang95 04:31, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

Sky-Splitting Eminence

Hiya. I noticed you've started uploading the images for this set and wanted to check where you're at with the card articles. Last thing I want to do is jump in and create an article when you're probably working in blocks by type (as I do). If you want a hand with these, let me know what type to begin from and I'll crack on from there. ~~nuva-kal 11:29, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

I have done the Grass-type Pokémon articles. Not started on the Fire-types yet. Also, I may need help translating the name for cards 079/096 and 094/096. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 11:31, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
Perhaps you would like to start with the Psychic types? And some of the images I may have accidentally uploaded the names with the "-" dashes in between Sky and Splitting. — Ruixiang95 11:56, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
I'll leave a bit of a buffer and start on the Psychic types. As for the Trainers, 079/096 contains ギリギリ, which is Japanese onomatopoeia for just in time or at the last moment. I'd go out on a limb and say a suitable name for this would be Last-Minute Potion. 094/096 has several possible translations—in the context of the card's effect, this could be translated as admonishment, commandment, caution, or punishment. Commandment has religious connotations, so I doubt this would be used on an English card. Given the card's artwork, which is dungeon-esque, a suitable name could be Shrine of Punishment or Cave of Punishment. ~~nuva-kal 12:02, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

EX Crystal Guardians trivia

The Tepig family has similar trivia listed on their cards and glik said adding that bit of trivia for the Bulbasaur and Ivysaur card was fine. Just thought I would let you know in-case you were confused. If we can allow the trivia on the Tepig evolution line cards, we can allow it for those two cards as well. Double Blaze

I just wanted to check where you're at with any cards you might be working on so we don't overlap. I've got the base for all Pokémon cards created in Word; they just need updating with the attacks, HP, retreat cost, and illustrator (I find it quicker this way). Give me a shout if you want to do any more and I can send you what I've done by email so you don't have to copy-paste a load of templates. I'm just about to start on the Dark-types, so let me know. As always, thanks for your help and sterling work so far on the Sun & Moon Era articles! ~~nuva-kal 18:01, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Hey, you can continue if you want. It's midnight where I am, so I doubt I'll be doing any for the next few hours. — Ruixiang95 20:48, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Rods

I just created articles for the three original fishing rods, all of which have made appearances in the TCG. Do you know how to properly add the TCG sections to their articles? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:12, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Done. I tried. — Ruixiang95 18:46, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. Apparently you did know how to do it. If you weren't sure you could do it, you could've just said so. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:55, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

TCG Legality

If you give me the information on sets removed and added to the rotations for TCG I could see about whipping something up that might be able to automate the process a bit. --Spriteit (talk) 02:54, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

Pokemon.com will announce the expansion in rotation yearly. For the upcoming rotation for 2020, it can be found here. For the SM Black Star Promos, it can always be found in this link. The 2020 rotation starts on August 15, 2019 and will be from Ultra Prism onward, and the Dragon Majesty, and Detective Pikachu subsets. For SM Black Star Promos, it will be SM94 onward. New expansions will always become legal on the third Friday of its official English release. The aforementioned details are for the Standard format. Every year when the new format starts, older cards will become legal only in the Expanded format, for 2020, it will be Black & White to Crimson Invasion. For Black Star Promos, it will be BW01 to SM93. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 04:10, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
I believe I've updated for the current season, though there's every chance I missed some. When the new rotation starts August 15, I'll go through soon after that and update to reflect the rotation. --Spriteit (talk) 07:38, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
As a note I also noticed that McDonald's collection 2016 seemed to be missing from the <Pokémon> (TCG) pages, I'm not familiar enough with the template to edit it really, and I wasn't sure if it included the French Macdonald's cards in 2017 either. --Spriteit (talk) 07:46, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. I do noticed some that you miss, I may have to check them again. The Pokémon (TCG) pages only list US English cards, that's why the 2016 Collection (European), and 2017 French Collection are not included. — Ruixiang95 08:34, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
I'll keep an eye on your edits so I can see which ones and use that to fine tune the code I wrote up to process the changes. --Spriteit (talk) 08:55, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

I have 400ish edits lined up and ready to go for the new rotation, will probably do them tomorrow, but if you could update the Rotation page so I can make sure I've got them all, it'd be appreciated, mostly not sure about the Trainer Kits and the Maccca's sets moving into expanded or not. Also there are two new SM Promos listed on the website that we don't have, SM214 and SM215, Mewtwo and Mew respectively. --Spriteit (talk) 12:14, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Only cards from Ultra Prism, Forbidden Light, Celestial Storm, Dragon Majesty, Lost Thunder, Team Up, Detective Pikachu, Unbroken Bonds, Unified Minds, and McDonald's Collection 2018 are in the 2020 Standard format. As for the SM Black Star Promos that are not released yet, we will not include the "standard/expanded=Yes" part yet. Will add them once they become legal in the Standard format as per the information on the official TCG Promo Card Legality Status page. All Trainer Kits and other Decks or Half Decks listed under Sun & Moon Series are all now part of the Expanded format. Also note, I haven't edit the Pokémon (TCG) pages for the Unified Minds expansion yet due to not being legal until August 16, didn't want to edit again just to add the rotation again later. But I have a question, is your code able to detect reprinted cards that are originally printed in the now-Expanded format? An example would be Silvally-GX (Crimson Invasion 90), the original print is Crimson Invasion, however a new artwork, also known as reprint, is in the Ultra Prism expansion, thus making the print from Crimson Invasion still legal in the now-Standard format. If not, we still have to manually check for cards in this kind of situation. — Ruixiang95 13:22, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
It was not able to but I have since modified it with some new modifiers so it should be able to pick up cards in those circumstances, or at least alert me that I should check to make sure. --Spriteit (talk) 13:32, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
That is all we need, you can go ahead with it. Thanks so much for the help. — Ruixiang95 17:47, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
Think I got them all, at least Pokemon wise, do we put whether cards are in rotation or not on the Supporter/Trainer pages? It seems to be a bit of a mix. --Spriteit (talk) 01:49, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Gen VII learnsets

King's Shield

Hey there, could you check this real quick? If it's legitemately missing (which it probably is), you'd be able to find out what went wrong and what else you might've missed (if you did). Thanks. Nescientist (talk) 21:06, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Since you didn't respond, I've now checked evolution move against all species pages, and they do seem to match. Nescientist (talk) 12:47, 21 December 2019 (UTC)

Pokémon Trader

Hello. About this edit: diff I see you removed some information I had added there. Was there any problem with it? I was thinking that maybe we could have more information about cards in the video games. That card seems to behave differently in the video games and in real life. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 21:03, 29 December 2019 (UTC)

Unprotect, please?

Thanks for moving Go's Scorbunny's page now that it has evolved. Are you also able to undo the protection on the article? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:36, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

I have already asked the higher-up for help to unprotect the page. Wait a while. — Ruixiang95 10:41, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Card Trivia

How are the Pokémon cameos in other Pokémon cards not notable? Pipefan (talk) 14:25, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Also confused about Masquerain and Cleffa's revisions. Thanks for improving the wording on my edits regardless. Pipefan (talk) 15:22, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
We do not add information on cameo appearances because the Pokémon are just there and serve no purpose. If the name of a move or an Ability in the video games is in the attack name, we do not add them, though previously we had them but was removed due to being a speculation-ish statement. And as for the removal of Category:<Trainer> (TCG), I'll get back to it soon. — Ruixiang95 16:38, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

TM

If the list template was done wrong, can I just copy the one from List of all Technical Machine Cards and still make the latter a candidate for deletion? Pipefan (talk) 01:56, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

TCG Tags

("moving" from your bulbarchive talk)

In set categories like Double Blaze only its cards are included but in Detective Pikachu the logo and even product images are part of it. Which is the correct approach? Pipefan (talk) 02:36, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

Logos and product images can also be tagged with their set categories. However, if a product image contains a booster pack of a specific set only, you may not need to tag it. — Ruixiang95 06:16, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

Expansion names

I've been reverting a few edits that added "Pokémon TCG: " to the beginning of expansion names as there was no apparent reason for but noticed you did this on Fossil's article (Pokémon TCG: Fossil). Should I also remove this or revert my changes? Pipefan (talk) 12:21, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

It was a mistake I made. Your edit is fine. — Ruixiang95 03:08, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Crabominable and other Pokemon learnset removed

While I was editing some pages for Crabominable, I noticed that removed the learnset for Crabominable. This also the case for other Pokemon mostly for Alola Pokemon. Is there any reason why you removed them? People who are still playing Pokemon Gen VII games (excluding Let's Go!) need the learnset of those Pokemon. Not all Pokemon like Crabrawler & Crabominable didn't appear in Sword & Shield. - unsigned comment from Sir Y (talkcontribs)

We only put the most recent generations in the learnset. — RuiXiang95 05:01, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Torchic Nintendo Promo card's number

Hi, Ruixiang95.

Some time ago, I edited Torchic (TCG) in order to show what I thought ( and think) was Torchic (Nintendo Promo 17)'s number: 017. Today, you changed it back to 17. Is there any reason 017 (the number actually written in the card) is not to be used?

Thank you in advance. --Platybus (talk) 21:22, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

The first time you added it, you put the 0 in the card name and not the cardno. Thus, I reverted it. — RuiXiang95 05:01, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Why does this filter force me to make this?

Hate this vandal filter 3. It forced me to make this to fix my mistake. Can't even remove my mistake for it. How can I dodge it? It's very irritating. And also sry for making a longer than hoped message. I know this will notif ya about it too, sry for that. (Have FANDOM experience) Trooper777123 (talk) 14:48, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Let me just ask:

Why ru keeping certain stuff on Vivid Voltage secret? The only way I knew about Wash Water Energy is because I myself added it to the page. And Machop and Machoke, why r those a secret, as well as the other special energy? No hate towards u, but this is imprtant to me, and something I wanna know. ~ Trooper777123 [FSA] Commander 10:45, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Do not add speculated cards into expansion pages. If there's no official image, do not add it. — RuiXiang95 05:01, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Congratulations on the staff promotion! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:14, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Late, but thanks! ;) — RuiXiang95 05:01, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Please don't undo my edits.

Please don't undo my edits on the pages Zarude (Pokémon), Regieleki (Pokémon), or Regidrago (Pokémon). The national Pokédex numbers of Regieleki and Regidrago are 894 and 895 respectively, and this is known now that the Crown Tundra releases in 2 days. GlowstoneLove (talk) 23:09, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

But not yet. The info is official only if it's revealed by an official source in the internet or once the expansion pass is out. Neither has happened yet. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:15, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Eternium-Z

Hey Ruxiang95, the reason why I put "Extraterrestrial" on some Pokémon pages is that their actually is a page on Bulbapedia named Extraterrestrial Pokémon. So please don't undo my edits. And thanks for correcting the spelling mistake. And in my opinion, they are counterparts, since they share several similarities. Some people even consider them counterparts. Eternium-Z (talk) 09:44, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Unnecessary. They're all Pokémon regardless of their origin, so that label isn't required. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 11:14, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Tell me.

What r the staff requirements on Bulbapedia? I am trying to keep consistent on editing with the new sets, it's just I haven't really been getting too much info for upcoming sets. Also I plan to go thru the sets looking for errors.

Shiny Star V (TCG)

I want to ask if I could be temporarily promoted to Admin so I can edit the Shiny Star V (TCG) page. I get updates from PTCGRadio and come on here to edit the set, and it's protected. I respect ur decision on doing so, but it also blocks good editors like me from editing it. All I ask is to become an Admin until the page becomes unprotected. I hope that u will be able to trust me with the promotion. I will not abuse powers, or promote others. I want it so I can continue editing the page, adding confirmed cards into the page. I know a lot of wikitext (wikicode here), so that is also a plus.

Sincerely, PokeKommander aka Trooper777123 PokeKommander 14:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

Nevermind about the Admin promotion. Shiny Star V (TCG) is now able to be edited. I hope u have a good day.

Amazing Rare

These cards have a gimmick in common, even if not an archetype. By this logic Crystal Pokémon's page shouldn't exist because its just sharing a Poké-Body. Pipefan (talk) 12:47, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

After discussing with the other staff, we decided to reinstate the page. You may continue to edit the page. Thanks. Also, might you have Discord? It'll be easier for me to communicate with you. — Ruixiang95 05:17, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

Exploud

You accidentally copy-pasted its prevo's BDSP dex info instead of its own. With 900 Pokémon, a mistake was bound to happen eventually. Zurqoxn (talk) 16:00, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Hey...

Why did you revert my edit to Bulbapedia:Users? — PokémonFan12345. 08:05, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

"Unnecessary" redirects

Those redirects like Leafeon (Pokémon)/Generation I learnset? I made them so learnset templates don't have unnecessary redlinks to these pages. I could have asked if the moves unavailable to Leafeon but available to Eevee should be moved to the "By a prior evolution" section, with a special marking if necessary. --Bfdifan2006 (T/C) 06:07, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

Pokémon ex

Any reason to keep the list of cards as it was? Words like Rocket are part of the card's name and not a separate mechanic, see Alolan Sandslash-GX in Pokémon-GX Flying Pikachu V in Pokémon V, for example. The ex page does not have to be handled like the pages of cards from a specific Pokemon and is the odd one. Pipefan (talk) 18:47, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Also regarding "not adding anything about the Scarlet & Violet Series yet" - there was no speculation in the article other than the name of the tcg series. Pipefan (talk) 18:50, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
Also only saw the reply on Amazing Rare's topic now, whoops - you can contact me as prostagma#2140. Pipefan (talk) 18:56, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Ghosts

Hey, I just found your subpage "User:Ruixiang95/Ghosts (human) in the Pokémon world" which is about the same subject as the page "Ghost (literal)‎‎". It would be great if you incorporated your work to that page as it is very well written.--Rocket Grunt 21:53, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Raid Battle links

I understand editing the "Raid Battle" links in the context of the anime to "Raid Battle (GO)", but I'm personally a bit iffy if the section link was necessary. Could it just have been changed to link to the article itself and not its anime section specifically? This might be my personal preferences speaking, but anyway. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:37, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Release information

Many of your minor tweaks to make every card have the same exact wording are actually causing a bunch of inaccuracies throughout several different situations.

 • A card can't be "first released" in both Freeze Bolt in July 2012 AND EX Battle Boost in July 2013. Your change from "originating" to "first released" has made the timeline for this card semantically confusing and wrong.
 • BW Promotional is used for the Korean BW Promos and other similar promo sets released from TPC. BW Black Star Promos is used for the English BW Black Star Promos and other similar promo sets released by TPCi.

There are almost 12000 different Pokémon cards all with incredibly different and distinct circumstances surrounding their release. Not everything is going to fit into the same specific wordings. Not every situation is the same, and that's okay, exceptions exist. Forcing all the pages to sound the same is not only making the wiki sound repetitive and boring, but it's causing inaccuracies and errors throughout many pages. Please slow down, chill with the tweaks and consider if the changes you are making are actually adding value. MaverickNate 12:51, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
