??? Category
Arceus can still get this category and the pages are protected. *tc26* 13:45, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Arceus is technically in no type category. It's floating around all eighteen of them a little less than four times a minute. All it can do is link to the category for one second, and then poof, it's gone. And since the category is protected from creation so no one decides to create it, we've got no need to worry. Golden Bulbasaur Award
A bit of text in there says that the Golden Slowpoke goes to whoever made the worst new page. Shouldn't that be changed from "Worst new page" to "Worst Contribs"? - Likely has to do with our recent move to dual servers. We're still working the kinks out. I've told Archaic. TTEchidna 03:04, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Just so I can give you the heads up, I did some testing, and the error appears when the size of the thumbnail is set so that it is not a divisor of the original size of the picture. For example in Ekans, for the picture of Jessie's Ekans, when you set the size to 210px, there is an error, as 210px is no divisor of 447px (the original size), but if you set it to 447px or 223.5px, then the picture is normally displayed. Yohrd 06:41, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- That... is VERY odd. Likely because the server has to do less work when creating divisible ones... I will forward this. Good work. TTEchidna 07:12, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- I conducted more test, to see if it was the fact for all the files, and I have odd results... In fact, as long as the size of the thumbnail is not under a certain threshold, the thumbnail is displayed as supposed to. For Jessie's Ekans in the Ekans article it is half the original size, but I tried with a:File:RichiePikachu.png it is around 120px which is 10px more as the half of the original size. And no problem for the help, I'm used to bug testing, so as long as can help here too. Yohrd 07:44, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Pokemon of the Day?
I was wondering; how does the Pokemon of the day work? Does the site randomly change it based on some complex system, or do you just choose one? If it is the later, on Wednesday (the 6th) can you make it Flygon?--Gou 17:17, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- The exact calculation is...
IF it's not December 10 (in which case it will ALWAYS be Bulbasaur), the Pokémon is whatever the Unix time of midnight on that calendar date is divided by what number day of the year it is, and divided by 493 to get the remainder. Meaning, today, we get #482, Azelf
I'm likely gonna change it though. Make it a little more complex. So hey, Flygon might come up randomly. TTEchidna 19:24, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
As of two seconds ago...
The calculation is now:
Take the Unix time of midnight today (1733270400) plus the number formed by the current year, date, and month combined into one (20241204 for today) times the number formed by the day of the year, week number in the year, and number of the day of the week (Sunday being 0) combined (338493 for today). Then take all the previous and divide it by the number of days in the month times 8 (for December, 31 * 8 is 248), and add to all previous the number of the current day of the year (338 for today). Then take the whole damn thing and see what the remainder is when you divide by 493, and add 1.
This results in 192, making Sunflora the Pokémon of the day today.
Any questions? The talk page opens again at 8 PM UTC. Funny thing is, since I forgot to include the + 1 at the end before, there was that 1/493 chance that the PotD would end up being... Missingno. And completely blow up my template since {{Num2N}}
doesn't set itself for 0. BUT IT DIDN'T, WHAT A MIRACLE. TTEchidna 19:52, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Working is fun....
So yeah. Do you remember what comes first in Emerald, the Mossdeep Space Center thing, or Groudon being awakened? I'm messing with the party templates on Tabitha's page to see if I can get them updated for the Emerald section and forgot the order of battles. And yeah, Tabitha's page says the Mossdeep thing happened after Groudon woke up, but I just wanna make sure. R.A. Hunter B. 02:35, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- I... think it does. Since they're planning to blow up Mt. Chimney. TTEchidna 03:37, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ehhh.... okay. I don't remember why they want to do that, but oh well. I'll work on the party templates. If something's wrong, people can change it. R.A. Hunter B. 20:36, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Confused about Kanto
Recently you have locked down the Kanto page and since that time you have added to that article that Kanto would be explorable in HeartGold and SoulSilver. Before I saw that, I added this sentence to the HGSS page, "Currently it is not known whether the remakes will retain the ability to visit Kanto after defeating the Elite Four that was present in the originals." I added that sentence because as far as I know it is true. If you have some source that says that Kanto will be explorable in HGSS I would love to see it, but if you don't, then you're stating speculation as fact. Drapion 20:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Seeing as FR/LG didn't omit anything from its storyline (if anything, it ADDED to the plot), I'd say TTE is being more than reasonable. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 20:47, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- They're remakes. Remakes typically have everything that was there before, and then some. They aren't gonna remove Kanto, because Johto's about as big as half of Sinnoh. TTEchidna 21:04, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I don't disagree with that, but just because it's probably true doesn't mean it's not speculation. As long as something is speculation it should be presented as such. I'm not trying to be overly antagonistic about this, it's just that HGSS brings a lot of potential for confusing speculation with fact, and it's important to be able to distinguish between the two. For example, you're probably going to receive a Togepi egg in HGSS, but it's still just speculation. I realize that the inclusion or exclusion of an entire region is a bigger issue than that, but I think the distinction between what we know and what we don't know is important. I'm not going to press this any further since your opinion holds more weight here than mine, but I just hope you've heard me out and given my thoughts some consideration. Drapion 21:28, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- At this point it's even speculation that you start off in New Bark and get to pick from Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile. They said themselves it is just like FRLG. FRLG was missing nothing but Missingno., HGSS will not be missing Kanto. TTEchidna 21:41, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I completely agree. Personally I think debating over whether Kanto would be in a remake of a game that had it doesn't make sense, since remakes are more likely to add stuff than to remove it. It would be like if Nintendo had decided to cut some levels from the games in Super Mario All-Stars (which didn't happen), or, as Missingno. Master said, if FireRed and LeafGreen omitted content from the Gen I games (aside from unintentional stuff like glitches). --Evice 01:23, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Fortunately, Katie50's IP is not mine. My IP starts with 208, whereas theirs starts with 75. This message appeared when I attempted to edit a page, yet it did not appear when I tried to edit another one. This possibly showed that the server took me as Katie50's IP and prevented me from editing the page I approached. I think this happened another time when I was editing a talk page and, rather than the coding, came up a screen normally gotten when there is an edit conflict. However, the conflict summary showed the editor receiving a conflict with my edit, their edit only closing a <span> tag. These editing oddities, I assume, have something to do with the server interpreting IP addresses I have little to no relation to.

Beta stuff
Hey TTE, do you know any tools or someone who knows about them because I want to investigate leftovers of the beta of Blue, Yellow and Crystal and create articles about each game's beta. Pokemon lover 19:10, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- There are articles about all the games betas.--Clarky13 19:17, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not for those I mentioned. Pokemon lover 19:19, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thing is, Yellow, JpBlue, and Crystal are hardly different from their paired versions. What leftovers there'd be in there are covered by the originals. Unlike Emerald, which was more based on the FRLG engine than RS engine, and Platinum, which included many new things that weren't in DP, Crystal's beta had... the Lake of Rage, the GS stuff, and whatever stuff the US version took out anyway. Yellow's beta was... nothing. Gen I and II are so linked that the GS beta barely needs its own article; most of that stuff is prerelease hype. TTEchidna 19:32, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Just on this note, should the remake speculation page be incorporated with the Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions beta page, when it is made, so the beta and the speculation be together?--Clarky13 19:37, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Bzzt, no. The remake speculation is way different from official announcements. If they'd said "Hey wait five years and we'll remake GS" when FRLG came out, then that would be a different thing. This is fan theories and hopes that resulted in AWESOME. TTEchidna 19:49, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Clarky13, go the remakes speculation talk page and you'll find your answer. TTE, I know that they are too similar but, IMO, Yellow's beta has... nothing? Not leftovers from the beginning of Pikachu's overworld sprite and of the basic happiness system? I don't think so. And Crystal still deserves it's own page, IMO; Emerald has it and it doesn't have much info about the beta either. Still, I want to investigate. Not that I'm going to create articles but just to satisfy my own curiosity. Any help will be very appreciated. ;) Pokemon lover 19:53, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- If anything that's not beta, that's the actual game. Hell, Yellow was practically a GS beta. But whatever, if you can find enough crap that was taken out and stuff from Yellow, go for it. TTEchidna 19:58, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not affirming that I'm going to find stuff in Yellow, although Crystal has stuff about it for sure. Thing is, I don't know which tools to use besides VBA and GameShark codes. Pokemon lover 20:04, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Recent moves
Hey there. I've seen you've reverted some of the recent edits I've made today. I'm new to editing on this site, although I've worked for awhile on Wikipedia. I've got a couple questions about some of my edits and why they were reverted (I'm not arguing, just asking for clarification/advice).
First, some of the edits I've made with regards to sprites. I made some additions about the sprites in the trivia section based on the fact that I've seen some other Pokémon articles with trivia about sprites.
Second, as for Masquerain, I felt that because its Pokédex entries, as well as the anime, both make note of it flying that it's notable to make note of the fact that it can't learn the move Fly. I've seen similar trivia notes on other pages, such as Magikarp, Wingull, and Surskit all saying that those Water-types can't learn Surf.
If you can give me any clarification to some of the edits I've made today, that'd be greatly appreciated. Kevin Y (talk) 19:02, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Honestly? No Bug/Flying Pokémon can learn Fly. None of them. If one did that'd be notable. Heck, I honestly don't even like the "lol one of like seven or fifty or so Pokémon of this really plentiful type that can't learn its signature move".
- As for sprites, we're trying to go through and rid ourselves of the "OH IT WAS COLORED THIS WAY IN GEN 2 AND THEN WHEN THE GEEBEAY CAME OUT IT WAS DIFFERENT HOW SURPRISING" stuff, and the stuff regarding how the sprites looked. Really, only MAJOR revisions made between RG and B are notable, and not that many have those. Other than that, people can see the sprites, they don't need it pointed out to them, unless it's a very obvious flaw like the chocolate Sneasel of Gold and Silver.
- Also, Bulbapeda != Wikipedia. We use the same wiki software but noooooooo to all that is 'Kipedia. Heck, one of our admins formerly was a "YAY WIKIPEDIA" guy, but we've managed to
brainwashconvince him of the superiority of our own little system for something specialized as Bulbagarden is. - Glad you came and were rezoneable, though. Half the time I get kids whining and deleting my page. TTEchidna 20:03, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- So if I see stuff like that about the sprites, differences that are very subtle, it would be alright to remove them? Since I'm using this site to help me tremendously in Platinum, I've probably been across every Pokémon page since I got the game. I've seen a lot of that type of "trivia". Kevin Y (talk) 23:04, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Suggestion for speeding up the server
I have noticed that over the course of the year, Bulbapedia has been slowing down exponentially, and have thought I might lend a thought. Bulbapedia has gotten very Server-Intensive, running many server-side scripts. Many of these processes could be converted from server-side PHP to client-side JavaScript. PHP slows down the serving time of web pages because it's an extra process the server has to run, but since JavaScript is a Client-Side script, the computer recieving the web page does the work for it. This eases the load on the Server, and doesn't take much time to do on the client computer. Please, consider this option and reply. PhoenixGraphix™ 21:52, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Mkay, episodes with no English title...
Well, I just thought they were translatable, like Electric Soldier Porygon and Legend of Dratini...
But here's something to think about. I recently aquired the DVD boxsets of the Indigo League, and naturally Beauty and the Beach, Legend of Dratini, and Electric Soldier Porygon aren't included on it, and Tentacool and Tentacruel is listed as "Episode 18". So wouldn't it cause a bit of confusion among fans if it were referred to as EP019? Just wondering what the best way to go about this is, I mean, if I weren't aware of the banned episode thing, I might've mistook Episode 229 for Episode 231 (my second most favorite number), since after Episode 17 (ironically my most favorite number), Island of the Giant Pokemon, the numbers for the Japanese and English episodes have been different. I mean, even TV.com lists the banned episodes.
(Note: I'm not counting Tower of Terror, Tentacool and Tentacruel, and Holiday Hi-Jynx, because they were only temporarily banned, aired in the US and Canada (where I live) before this, and are available on DVD. Technically speaking Beauty and the Beach counts because even though it aired about twice in the US, it did so long after Tentacool and Tentacruel, and was banned again shortly after). Anyway, I'm not arguing with you, I'm just raising an interesting point. Ghostkaiba297 02:50, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, we aren't causing confusion. People know what the epicodes are for and we're not moving that crap. We go by Japanese airing because 4Kids screwed up the dub so bad they didn't finish Johto until Hoenn had been around for a year. Now that's bad. Most people understand the numbering system once they're here for more than ten seconds. Plus, all you gotta do is click a link. Not naming the episodes that never aired dubbed (and never received a dub title) also singles them out as "oh look you can't find this one in English!". TTEchidna 03:00, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- I understand, 4Kids are an evil organization who go overboard with censoring Yu-Gi-Oh episodes (I mean, guns are even shown in Pokemon, outside of the banned episode, but in Case of the K9 Caper and the Kangaskhan Kid and Tentacool and Tentacruel guns were seen, whereas in Yu-Gi-Oh all guns are censored out, creating the "Invisible Gun" joke). There's even a joke about the Big Five (a board of evil directors) being members of 4Kids. I suppose the only one that creates confusion is "Beauty and the Beach", since Tentacool and Tentacruel attempted to erase any ties to it (excluding Brutella). I promise not to change the banned episodes labeled EP035 (and so on) to what is translated to their English titles (eg: Legend of Dratini) anymore. Just unprotect the page, OK? I might've made a small mistake earlier regarding the Safari Zone, I am currently watching the Kangaskhan Kid and what Ranger Jenny says implies that the Pokemon reserve is an area of the Safari Zone, it's just the place where one can capture Pokemon that is never seen. MftE advice
Do you really think it's wise to suggest new users learn by looking exclusively? I think we want to promote an active community, even if it means people get things wrong...obviously I don't want to encourage people just ignoring our rules. But saying "lurk before editing" seems like you're painting with an awfully wide brush. -- evkl (need to talk?) 06:43, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Dion24
Earlier I blocked a user named K-Dog for vandalizing pages. A little while later I get an e-mail from Dion24 because he can't edit pages. He sent me the error message and he apparently shares the same IP address as K-Dog. I asked if he knew him and he says no. I also asked if he's using a public computer and he says no. Well... I don't know what to think here other than K-Dog being a sockpuppet of Dion24. Not sure why he would do it though. He's always been a good user. I'm not sure what action to take. Should I let Dion24 back?
On another note; K-Dog seems to have made the same kind of edits as an earlier vandal; The Ninja03. Both of them seem to have made edits regarding the user Sammy-T-Rulz. Not sure what it all means though. --ケンジのガール 08:03, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- K-Dog and The Ninja03 are the same. Dion's clean, and his supposed "ban" is likely due to the screwed-up reverse proxy we've enabled. We're trying to deal with it; it should be fine... soon. He likely got "blocked" because of this block; you checked the "block IP" thing, didn't you? TTEchidna 08:27, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- I was also blocked due to the block what Kenji-girl did and anyway it's not blocked anymore. --∫∆π©∑一二三 08:51, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Dude, I need your help.
With the recent news of GSDS their have been alot of changes made to the Kanto article. Namely the inclusion of it in HG/SS. While I do believe we should never jump to conclusions, I think it is safe to assume the Kanto will be in HG/SS. Why would they remake the games without the entire second half of them. But I want to know where you stand on this.Zabbethx 16:05, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with you on that one, however apparently some people think that "remake" means that Johto's gonna have different starters even, and so we can't even trust that Kanto will be there.
- These are of course the some people who think Meowth is genderless. Jesus, it's fricking HGSS, the remake of GS as FRLG were to RG, even the official site says so! And did FRLG take out half of Kanto and change six of the Gym Leaders and starters?
- The only real thing that will change is likely the Pokémon distribution, and they could even keep that the same; why else would Houndour be out of the blue available in Pt just after Veilstone? TTEchidna 18:37, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Your "day counter" on the user page...
...is quite correct, and it's true that Gen IV is by no means the longest generation, but what interests me more is this:
- Ho-Oh, the first Generation II Pokémon to be revealed, was revealed 399 days into Generation I.
- Kecleon, the first Generation III Pokémon to be revealed, was revealed 466 days into Generation II.
- Munchlax, the first Generation IV Pokémon to be revealed, was revealed 604 days into Generation III.
But we are currently 6642 days into Generation IV, and not one single Generation V Pokémon has been revealed. That's what's so frustrating. Kidburla 21:24, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Need your help for HG/SS page
Right now the problem is that a few users are modifying a paragraph from Heart Gold and Soul Silver's page into a debate of belief vs. speculation. While I did delete this last night after deep thought, because this rumor was sounding like Original Research, it had been readded again. Rather than remove it again I would like you as administrator to pass judgement and put a stop to this before it turns into an edit war. -Tyler53841 00:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help, I won't mind that you had to upgrade the protection level since I not going to be adding new details at all. Instead I'll just monitor the flow of updates that are done. -Tyler53841 00:18, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, the prevnexts. Their width causes them to be moved to the right and to leave a small blank space on the left. Pokemon lover 15:03, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Tail Whip debate
I don't know if you know, but me and several other users (like Kenji-girl) are debating/discussing (kinda a cross between the two) about what a Tail Whip is in the anime. We're all aware that Psyduck's "Tail Wag" is a Tail Whip; however, other Pokemon like Charmeleon, Onix, Gyarados, Nidoking, etc. have smacked Team Rocket with their tails, sending them blasting off. Other sites (and sometimes this one) refers to it as a Tail Whip, but I'm the only one in the debate who seems to think it is. However, I looked up the page history for The Problem with Paras, and I saw you put the trivia up there under Errors, about "Tail Whip not doing any damage in the games", so if you're sure that is a Tail Whip, can you please come to the Tail Whip discussion page to clear this up with us? Ghostkaiba297 02:14, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- If it was explicitly commanded then yes it's Tail Whip. Otherwise it could be Slam or something. Other moves besides Tail Whip use the tail. TTEchidna 02:32, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm well aware, and since "Tail Whip" is only ever mentioned by Dexter and Misty (both referring to Psyduck), the others were wild except for Dragonite, who was countering an attack from Squirtle, Gyarados, who was defending Joy, and Charmeleon, who never listens to Ash. And since you're the main guy in charge here, I'm sure all of us on that page would like your opinion as to whether it's Tail Whip or Slam. Well... check the discussion page for all the details. Ghostkaiba297 02:48, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- We've come to a decision, it's just hitting them with their tails, the only Tail Whip we ever witness is Psyduck. Ghostkaiba297 06:18, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Team Rocket's immortality
Me and Hunter and PsychicRider got into another debate, one that goes back further than the tail whip thing. One about the appropriate location of some Team Rocket trivia.
Team Rocket seems resistant to death, even by Pokemon standards, suriving situations that would have killed Ash and his friends, like when Ash, Misty, and Brock are crossing the drawbridge in the Bridge Bike Gang and nearly fall into the water and say "We'll drown!" But Team Rocket falls instead, and they survive. Also there's the boulder thing in Shell Shock, where Ash and the others would have been killed by the boulders, but James survives a long fall with a boulder on top of him, no matter how much it undoubtedly hurt him. And Ash and Pikachu nearly fall over a waterfall, and would have died if they did, but Team Rocket falls over the waterfall and they return. And not just the trio, twice Giovanni is caught in an explosion caused by Mewtwo, and survives both times, while a similar explosion to the first one killed Dr. Fuji and all his scientists.
I put it under the Team Rocket section, but Psy thinks it is anime physics, so I put it there, but Hunter thinks it's too redundant to be anime physics. The discussion went on for quite a while, but just recently, Psy told me to go to an admin. Since you're the guy in charge, and the only admin whom I know on here (on that note, is there a list of admins in here somewhere?), can I have your opinion as to the appropriate location of this trivia? Personally I think it should go under Team Rocket, but where do you think it should go? What you say goes, TTE. Your answer will finally resolve this long and tiring debate. Ghostkaiba297 03:24, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you. This debate has been very long, and now it's finally resolved. You rock! Ghostkaiba297 04:14, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hunter, do you have anything to say to TTE on the matter?
- And TTE, Maverick Nate pointed out that you never said anything about whether or not I could add it. I just thought, since you said it was anime physics, that's where it went... Anyway, I officially ask you whether or not I should add it to the anime physics article. Ghostkaiba297 04:36, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- But isn't it kinda notable, if not on the error level, that they survive what would've killed Ash? I mean, he never gets in those situations because he's the main character... Plus, Giovanni survived the explosion and Fuji didn't... but you're both admins, and if you say no, then I guess that's all there is to it.
- With that debate out of the way, and all of us officially on the same page (sniffle), there is still a bit of confusion as to the Tail Whip debate... Can you clear up all the details? Ghostkaiba297 04:47, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well... yeah, so maybe he would've been killed by the fall if he ever did, but let's not forget Jigglypuff, Dario, and Nastina also blast off and survive, though the "blasting off" thing never seems to seriously hurt anyone, so maybe it doesn't apply to the Team Rocket's immortality theory. What I was trying to say is, other situations (falling into the water and being run over by a ship, falling over a waterfall, being crushed by a boulder) would have killed Ash if he had become a victim of them, but Team Rocket were the victims instead and they survived. And all explosions do to Team Rocket is send them blasting off, while it was initially thought to have killed Tommy's parents, and did kill Dr. Fuji.
- More on the explosion thing, Mewtwo destroys two buildings in Mewtwo Strikes back, in similar explosions: Dr. Fuji's lab and Giovanni's lab. Dr. Fuji is killed but Giovanni survives, possibly because he is the boss of Team Rocket, which is immortal. Even the immortal Team Rocket thought that Giovanni was dead at first. In Pokemon Live, Mewtwo blows up MechaMew2 on Giovanni, and he survives this as well. Also Team Rocket "falls to their death" twice, and survive both times, despite "knowing" that they would die from the fall. I'm not trying to convince you to change your mind, I'm just trying to make clear what I am trying to say, that Team Rocket is immortal. They can survive any fall, they can't drown (it'll just knock them out for a while), they can survive any explosions, and will not be crushed to death. I'm willing to bet that lava would only hurt them instead of kill them. If they were transformed into Charmander and dipped their tails in the water, they would survive, whether or not their flames went out. (Though Ash's Charizard has had its flame submerged twice, and it didn't go out).
- Though I wonder if their immortality has anything to do with their breaking the fourth wall... anyway, thank you for resolving our debate, even if you took their side, at least I don't have to worry about it anymore. Unfortunately, PsychicRider seems to hate me again. Ghostkaiba297 06:28, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
These socks...
I suggest we lock the user account creation. if you don't want to you don't have to. it's only my 2 cents... --☆AT♂ 19:07, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Me account
Hey TTE, I gots a question, I dont know if this is happening to anyone else, but why does my account keep on loggin me off?--Galm 19:22, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Dude.
DSi Problem
I notice you edit with one as well, that's cool. But I have a problem and I am wondering if you have experienced it too. It has nothing to do with editing. Although I will say editing with it really cramps your hands doesn't it?
I recently tried trading with my Platinum on my DSi with a friend using Diamond on her DSLite. I got nothing but error codes. I never had this problem with Pearl on my DSLite. Get this, it even wouldn't let me trade in the GTS. Even though I had the Pokémon other people wanted it would not let me click them. Has this happend to you as well? And if so, how did you remedy the problem?Zabbethx 15:38, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Locked for maintenance?
How come sometimes I come here, it says it's "locked for maintenance", and sometimes it isn't? Sometimes I can edit pages, and sometimes I can't. Ghostkaiba297 17:20, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Because we've had some issues with the database over the past couple days. Had to lock it. And it's glitching when we do. TTEchidna 17:31, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Can you unlock the DB until about 100 UTC tomorrow on Bulbanews? I can handle anything there right now.--Mew* a.k.a. Prmatt11at 23:48, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have the same problem. Plus sometimes I would be logged in on a page and then when I go to edit it, I am suddenly Logged out. Can you or someone fix that? It is extremely annoying... Pyles 00:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fix the problem! I was justLogged out on Cold's Page and then I clicked on the Teaser that takes you to your Talk Page and it did... But I was logged out on Cold's page. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAD TO WRITE THIS BECAUSE I WAS LOGGED OUT! Pyles 00:19, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Jesus Christ people, calm down. Apparently no one realizes it, but hey, echy's got other responsibilities besides running BP. Like class. Kogsie can handle the database locking and such on the three wikis. And by the way, I know about the logout problem. It took me three tries to just get to edit this section, and likely will three more to save! TTEchidna 00:42, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

<Player>
I've noticed that sometimes on pages mentioning the player's in game name, Ex.: <Player> picked up the... but the exact way this is done varies. I've also seen it as [player's name] or [PLAYER], do you think there should be some universal way of typing it? --Wynaut? 20:57, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Sketch
The style of move articles make it where the move and the levels its learned has to be put down for each generation.
With sketch the move has yet to change and the sketch article is very redundant. Same Pokémon, same levels. 355 bytes worth of the same info.
# | Pokémon | Type | Level | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
IV | V | VI | ||||||||
235 | Smeargle | Normal | -- 11 21 31 41 51 61 71 81 91 |
' | ' | |||||
Bold indicates a Pokémon gains STAB from this move. Italics indicates a Pokémon whose evolution or alternate form receives STAB from this move. A dash (−) indicates a Pokémon cannot learn the move by the designated method. An empty cell indicates a Pokémon that is unavailable in that game/generation. |
I know it goes against the set style, but wouldn't it be more clean to just have one Move covers all 3 current generations? Yami 15:07, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be more clean to just put text instead of tables, after all that takes up less space, too. Style is style, no matter if it's the same between several generations or not. We could just replace Typhlosion's base stats with "The same as Charizard", the learnlist for most Gen I and II moves with "the same in Gen II and III", and all that fun stuff. But it'd look really dumb. We don't need to go to extreme measures to save bytes, we've got two monster servers. TTEchidna 17:42, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- I saw this from the RC and I thought you were talking about me. XD -Sketch 17:45, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Charizard and Typhlosion are two different Pokémon, That info is not as redundant as having the same thing 3 times. Its on three separate pages, and is vital for a person who needs to know what the base stats for those Pokémon are.
- We're talking about the Move Sketch. The info is about a move that only one Pokémon can learn, and it learns the move up to 9 times with no change between generations. Redundant is the same Pokémon, same move, same levels and same boxes with the only difference being the Roman numerals I, II, III, and IV. A person could get all they need to know out of one box.
- We can 86 2/3 of the Move Boxes, Generation Links and Level Up links. Replace them with Generation I to Present. It's make the article shorter and less asinine.
- Also if I remember you guys get angst when someone makes multiple edits because they didn't get everything down the first time; saying it is bogging down the servers.
- It might be the style to have a Move box for each generation, but most moves gain new Pokémon to learn them and the levels they learn them change. Clefairy's ability to level to learn sing went down from 13 to 8 from gen I to gen II. Even with Ditto, Mew and Transform the info changed when Generation IV came out.
- You don't have to go and change ever move page, just make a exception on 1 (2 if we can get to the Transform article) pages where people can get the info they need with only 1 box if the info didn't change between one or more generations. Yami 18:37, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Freaky, Freaky Deja-vu.
- Why not just group the redundant info. Does having 3 boxes of the same info really help the article? Yami 22:01, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Original Series list
Hey, why in the List of original series episodes you took out the Season 1, 2 and 5 templates of conclusion, since that was the real 52-episode order that 4kids organized? D: Rikki Kitsune ~ リッキ キツネ 19:04, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Season 1 is the entirety of the Indigo League. The "season" divisions aren't what the broadcast companies like, they're how the openings and endings are divided. Screw the networks! TTEchidna 21:48, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- So, in the end of Indigo League should be the conclousion of season 1 template, not "Season 2 continues in Orange saga below". Rikki Kitsune ~ リッキ キツネ 22:40, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Edit waring
The user HoennMaster kept removing some trivia from the DP105 article about 3 times saying that facial and vocal expressions of distress do not mean anything involving the triva.
When the trivia was added back with better wording to relieve confusion, the user Sol removed it trying to justify his actions with Stats which are a in game mechanism and have hardly any use in the anime aside from levels being mentioned here and there.
He later tried to say that the game weights might not matter in the anime, but didn't think twice when he edited MAGNEDETH's edit involving game weight. Yami 18:56, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Login Issues?
Is it just my computer being weird? I'm having login issues. Every other time I load a page, it loads the things at the top as if I were logged out, but on teh other times it's as if I'm logged in. So I have to refresh to be logged in. Just to post anything to the site I have to go through it, hit back, and resend it. Is it server issues, or my computer?--Gou 02:55, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
