Defense Curl (Japanese: まるくなる Curl Up) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Defense Curl increases the user's Defense by 1 level.

Defense Curl will do nothing if the user's Defense has reached a level of +6 or a value of 999. The effect of Defense Curl is ignored by critical hits.

Generation II and on

In addition, the power of Rollout and Ice Ball will be doubled for the user as long as it remains in battle. This effect cannot be Baton Passed.
