Gust (Japanese: かぜおこし Stir Up Wind) is a damage-dealing Flying-type move introduced in Generation I. Prior to Generation II, it was a Normal-type move. Prior to Pokémon Yellow, it was the signature move of the Pidgey evolutionary line.

Effect

Generation I

Gust deals damage and has no secondary effect.

It is a Normal-type move in this generation.

Generations II and III

Gust is now a Flying-type move.

Gust can hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly and Bounce, and if it does, will deal double the damage.

Generation IV

If Gust hits a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly or Bounce, its power will now be doubled instead of the damage dealt (resulting in virtually the same effect).

Generation V onward

Gust can now hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly, Bounce and Sky Drop, and if it does, will deal double the damage (rather than double in power).
