Anorith (Japanese: アノプス Anopth) is a dual-type Rock/Bug fossil Pokémon.
It is resurrected from a Claw Fossil and then evolves into Armaldo starting at level 40.
Biology
Anorith is a fossil Pokémon no longer found in the wild, and must be resurrected from a Claw Fossil.
Physiology
Anorith is an aquatic, arthropod-like, greenish-gray Pokémon which uses eight flexible, white-and-red-tipped lobes on both sides of its body to propel itself through the water. Its large head had one pair of large, beady eyes, extending from the side. In the middle of the head is a round black pattern with two red spots. Two large, segmented claws also protrude from its head, serving as either defense against predators or attack against prey. These claws eventually turn to the fossil that can be used to revive the Anorith. Anorith’s carapace is gray, and Anorith’s tail is small with two gray spikes. Anorith has a pattern on the underside of its body that resembles a screw in shape.

Trivia
- Anorith and its evolution, Armaldo, are the only Template:Type2 Pokémon with genders that are not in the Bug Egg Group.
- Anorith, its evolution Armaldo, Azurill and Castform are the only non-Water-type Pokémon which learn Water Gun by leveling up.
- Of these four, only Anorith and Armaldo will never be Water-type. Azurill becomes a Water-type upon evolution, and Castform becomes Water-type in the rain.
- In the Pokémon Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, Anorith and Armaldo can walk on water, despite them not being water-type.
Origin
Anorith appears to be closely based on an Anomalocaris. It also appears to be somewhat based on a trilobite.
Name origin
Anorith's name possibly comes from a combination of Anomalocaris and lith, meaning rock or stone. It may also come from "ancestral".
In other languages
