Trivia
- Measuring up to 8'02" long and weighing 442lbs, Scolipede is the tallest and heaviest of all Template:Type2 Pokémon.
- Scolipede's highest stat is its Speed despite on its size and bulky appearance.
- This is shared with another Pokémon: Purugly which is also has a bulky appearance but has the same speed stat as Scolipede's.
Origin
Scolipede's species shows that it was inspired by the centipede, most likely the Scolopendra heros arizonensis. However, other than the barbs on its head and backside, Scolipede has more in common with millipedes, most likely a red Archispirostreptus gigas, a species of millipede often kept as a pet.
Name origin
Both Scolipede and Pendror are taken from Scolopendra, a genus of centipedes. Scolipede is also from centipede or millipede.
